<snipped> All these actions were very helpful in making a final decision, however, in the end the single most important factor for me in making a good hire was going with my “gut”.

My final advice to the young lady is; when being interviewed be yourself, be “real” and make sure the person interviewing you knows that you’re a worker and you really want a chance to show them what you can do and what you are made of.

Face:)

yep. The two girls in our family both did OK on the audition and go see circuit. Both are SAG and AFTRA, and both have been for 25 years. Both can be fully present alive and genuine in any interview. The training and auditing that they have gotten and given might have something to do with that.

We're poisoning the planet, and ourselves, that's why!

It's not just bees...frogs and other amphibians...many "threatened" species are acting as the canary in the coalmine for us top of the food chain animals. The loss of biodiversity has been a big concern of mine for decades now (locally and elsewhere).

I'm sure there is not just one single cause (whose correction can be patented and profited from :eyeroll:) to the bee die off. Disease, selective breeding, global transmission, fungal, microbial and other pests and predators all play a part. But clearly, chemical contamination by pesticides and fungicides of crops, as well as the general "background" environmental pollution in air and water and soil plays a huge part.

Here is what I see as the pithy part of what Phil wrote, that Carmelo linked to just above:

"it was during this period that Ron wrote something called "Keeping Scientology Working," a Policy Letter that was implanted into the mind and soul of every Scientologist who could possibly be implanted with it, and at one point in the body of this Policy Letter, to the horror of many of us, Ron Hubbard said the following fateful words: "Scientology is a deadly serious business." These words still chill my soul when I remember them and repeat them.

So it wasn't enough, you see, to turn this glorious idea into a business, a money-making business, it was also to be a deadly serious business. Well, it's hard for me to imagine any more lethal blows that could be delivered to the shining diamond, the beautiful pearl, the glowing emerald that was Scientology and Dianetics, that would cause the jewel to shatter. But it was on that road with those few words and what came to follow them.

One of the more odious or disgusting things that came out of this period was to standardize the tech and to engrave in stone something called The Bridge or the Bridge to Total Freedom, which was a wonderful marketing ploy for a business, because no matter what a customer achieved, as soon as they had achieved it you could point out to them all the things that remained on the Bridge to Total Freedom that they needed to buy as soon as possible, in fact immediately.

This was a far cry from the idea of a person, an individual, coming to a field auditor or a group and saying, "I heard from a friend that Scientology and/or Dianetics can do good things for a person, and there's a few things that trouble me and there's a few things that I'd like to be better at -- can you help me?" And taking care of these matters for the person, and then letting them get back to their life and livingness. But Scientology the Business couldn't have that -- no matter how happy the person was with their results, and no matter how anxious they were to get back to life, the business pointed out to them that there was much more that they needed to do and accomplish, and here was this whole Grade Chart, and let's get you signed up for your next service now. And that's what making Scientology a business, with money in" of prime importance, did to affect and shape the movement, the tech, and its delivery.

And just as we had the Standard Grade Chart, we wanted to have the Standard Person who had the Standard Case, in which everybody needed everything on the Grade Chart and then some. And even if they had enough money and time to do it all, they still needed more if they had any money left and it was up to Mr. Hubbard to keep creating things that could be sold for more and more money -- big-ticket items. And as far as I know, right into present time, this deadly serious business is still in operation, doing its deadly serious things with those who come under its thrall."

(Ah, purple prose...Phil is a man after my own heart!)

I trust and believe all you people who say that Corporate Scientology has morphed and changed into something quite awful and vastly different from what you perceived and experienced it to be in the early days when you first got excited about it, wanted to learn more about it, and got involved to varying degrees. You all did very well to get out of it when you did.

I myself can tell the difference in tone and atmosphere from "our" local Mission back in the 70's and early 80's (before the Mission takeover SO crimes happened) and that of Orgs today...

Wild horses couldn't drag me there to be a part of the current scene. It's evil and a terrible waste of human resources, time and money that could be well spent in so many other productive ways to help and heal mankind.

And WE, collectively, NEED help and healing!

I spent my growing up years going to the college of hard knocks. Every day brings a new lesson, so my growing up years are now soon to be the first 60 the wonder years.--- I wonder what I was thinking.-- two minutes ago.

For most, a college degree is something to fall back on, when they don't know what they want to be doing. I think it is the rare few, who need one to further their plans and dreams.

Not everyone is born to be an entrepreneur, empresario, maverick or is suited for self employment. I think that’s a good thing.

Without entrepreneurs and mavericks the building of the world would be way behind schedule. With nothing but entrepreneurs and mavericks the building of the world would have never gotten off the ground.

MrNobody

Who needs merits?
yep. The two <snip> go see circuit.

Circuits? That's electronics, isn't it? To me electronics is an interesting subject, although I don't understand every detail of it. What kind of circuits are they involved with?

Both are SAG and AFTRA, and both have been for 25 years.
I am not familiar with all the details of American alphabet soup, but these two sound like terrible diseases. My condolences...

Both can be fully present alive

Oh, that's great! Maybe some day there'll be a cure for them.

All the best for you and the two (remaining) girls of your family.

Sometimes selective quoting can be fun...

I did not see any of that protest or those clever poster in the media. I have made no secret on this thread of my political leanings. Being from Orange County, Ca which has a reputation for being Republican, I pretty much stand with the Tea Party (BTW, the O.C. is no longer solidly Republican but about 50-50).

I would say this, I am much more centrist on social issues. Medical marijuana, I am leaning to support and Gay marriage I have mixed feelings. I am actually 100% for gays to have the right to marry but still have some fear of the possible negative repurcussions against traditional marriage which might occur as fallout. If there was a box to vote, Yes on gay marriage and no other changes whasoever to traditional marriage and a disclaimer to the effect that heterosexual marriage is preferable whenever possible if the family is going to raise children, that would get my vote.

I know a lot of people point out that heterosexual marriage is not automatically a bed of roses and stable gays are often better parents then a nutty heterosexual couple and I know that is true. Still, all other things being equal, I would prefer a child to be raised under both a male and a female influence. OF COURSE IF ALL OTHER THINGS ARE NOT EQUAL, THEN GAYS MAY BE SUPERIOR TO STRAIGHTS AS PARENTS IN MANY SPECIFIC INSTANCES.

Oh well, I sympathized with the Boston Tea Party, way back then, although I believe I was living in Vienna. BTW, the American Revolution was a huge talking point in the salons of the Viennese Aristocrats. All the artists, musicians, and VIP's who hung out there on a daily basis, in places such as Countess Wilhelmina Thun's salon were all pro the American Revolutionists and wanted similar reforms for Austria as those the American Rebels were fighting for in North America. I have objective reality on this as well as having read about it.

Countess Maria Wilhelmine Thun-Hohenstein, née Uhlfeldt[1] (Vienna 13 June 1744[2] - Vienna 18 May 1800) was a Viennese aristocrat of the 18th century. She is remembered as the sponsor of a musically and intellectually outstanding salon and for her patronage of music, notably that of Mozart and Beethoven.[3]

Great Pictorials, Hats!, Vienna and GOP"s Tea Party!

Hats, you have a way of capturing in pictorial form, the essence of a topic being discussed. That is a real communications skill! Vienna's picture reeks of great music. I believe that in the late 1700's Vienna was considered only second to Paris as a gathering place for artists, musicians, writers, poets, etc. Of course, Vienna trumped everybody in music but lagged Paris in the other arts. In the 19th Century, Paris and Vienna were probably 1 and 2 again, all the way through the century.

Check out this pictorial. What does it say to you?

http://www.photoatlas.com/photo/austria_salzburg_03.jpg

Here's another view of Salzburg. This one harkens back to the great movie, "The Sound of Music"

http://images.reserve123.com/product/10796-1.bmp

Salzburg was a sort of backwater spot, blessed geographically with the Alps in the background and the Salzach River winding through it. It probably had only 25,000 residents in 1780 when Vienna had maybe 250.000. It was some kind of administrative center for a State within Austrian and it was ruled by an Archbishop. The Archbishop maintained his own orchestra for his private use In that obscure orchestra were 3 pretty large beings, whose names have survived. Kapelmeister was Michael Haydn, brother of the great Joseph Haydn, Vice Kapelmeister was Leopold Mozart, and Concert Master was the young genius and son of Leopold, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. The archipbishop Colerado loved music and promoted his orchestra but when he died, a pompous archbishop replaced him, Heironymous. To this man, music meant very little, the musicians were treated as nobody and Wolfgang was made to eat with the servants. Heironymous, cared nothing for music except as a means to glorify himself. He grudginly tolerated musicians and treated them with civility of they executed their duties well and knew their place, low on his totem pole. Michael Haydn and Leopold Mozart treated the archbishop as he wished to be treated but the impetuous Wolfgang was called to fulfill a greater purpose than to glorify a mediocre archbishop and bolted from the archbishops service, leaving Salzburg forever for Vienna where he set out to make a name for himself and to make his fortune.

The name he made beyond his wildest dreams but the fortune was not to be. His first 5 years in Vienna his income was in affluence but he spent every dime and lived lavishly, then came 4 lean years where he could not make ends meet, then the wild and feverish last year, 1791. In this year, he finally broke through all his barriers and made it financially big time and with the whirlwind success of his new opera, The Magic Flute, he would have been a very rich man within a year of its premier but it was not to be. The young 35 year old composer took ill late in the year and 6 weeks later, he was dead. His loyal and pretty wife, Constanza, ultimately inherited his estate and became a very wealthy and respected woman, through the music which Wolfgang left behind. Constance survived 51 years heyond Mozart's death and lived all the way to 1842 when photography was well established. A picture of her surfaced from around 1840, taken in Bavaria when she was 80 years old.

Lakey, in response to what I get from your pics..

In the first picture I can sense the presence of the archbishop's influence. In the second I am reminded of the Sound of Music. And Constance's supposed picture reminds me of austerity.

My mom's family is from Austria. There is a right way to do things and a wrong way. And the arrogance about knowing the proper way is absolute. I get that feeling from a lot of people who come from that area.

I never got that about Austria. So much intelligence, so much art, so much music, yet so much stick in the mud God influence. I inherited this dichotemy. :melodramatic:

Everything that makes life RICH is doled out sparingly. As if to prevent any real attachment to this earth so that the 'real' world later on will be the reward. Yet all around are the things that make one's heart sing. The things that make memories. The things that make you feel you are truly alive. The things that make you want to return to live on the planet.
There is an austerity in Austria. It chafes against the spirit.
Its kinda like why rock n roll is so hideously good in industrial towns where there is lots of physical work. The one brings out the other.
I know I've lived there a time or two at least...like you have.

Last year I was chomping on the bit to see if I could get over to Semmering to see Ralph Hilton. I googled the area and looked at where the stations were and the bed and breakfasts etc.
Things started to come back to me. I mean the concept of meeting Ralph came back to me in spades. I was an alchemist probably in the middle ages. :stir: I remembered my house and the farm and an old argument I'd had.
I'd bought this whole package including the fields and the livestock and the buildings and the rights to several things. Well something was wrong where the livestock could not produce. It was wrong before the sale and not disclosed. I forget exactly what. So I did not finish making payment. Big row ensued. :boxing: I didn't go see Ralph after all. :sulk:
Its funny how going over old anchor points can stir up the memory. And yet I've also experienced repeated lifetimes in the exact same area without having any deja vu. Maybe things change that much. But some place like Vienna. No.

Seeing my first live channeling demonstration.

Sunday night, Oct 11, I saw my first channeling done live at Ginger's Gardens in Orange County. The channeler was named Brad and he was channeling an E.T. with a name sounding like Pedronus or Bedronus.

LAKEY'S IMPRESSIONS OF WHAT TOOK PLACE IN THE LAKEY FASHION - SHOOT AS HARD FOR THE TRUTH AS POSSIBLE WITH NO HIDDEN AGENDA.

The guy Brad was clean cut and a sharp guy, probably in his late 30's, thin, about my height, 5'11' and with a crew cut - he was clean cut and had a quick comm lag, no delay, and seemed very intelligent. He gave us his background as to how and when he got into channeling, he's only been doing it for about 4 years.

Next, he sat in a chair and said he would be Pedronus in just a minute or two. It took a bit of time, perhaps 3 minutes and then Pedronis started speaking. Pedronis spoke, using Brad's voice but the timbre was a bit different. Also, Bedronis had no comm lag whatever and had absolute certainty about everything he said. He spoke for close to an hour in monolgue and then took about 45 minutes to answer all the questions in what they call a Q & A.

MY FIRST REACTION - I agreed with everything he said. I knew much of it already, but not all. He definitely knew more than I did so if it was just Brad, then Brad knew more than I do, and I almost never run into that in a person in the general society but only here on ESMB where there are many such people.

I caught him in what I perceived to be one error, but it was a small error and may just have to do with defining terms.

I may know some things he does not know because he did not cover everything "in his playbook" but over all, I felt that Pedronus was a wiser and more advanced being than I am and by a fair margin, not totally out of my league but the difference was significant.

SOME OF THE HIGHLIGHTS HE COVERED.
I. As to what we are doing on Earth, he said that ALL OF US ARE GODS IN TRAINING. We specifically chose to come here each for their own specific reason. He stated that deep down, we all know the reason we came here but none of us can access it. He said that Earth is at "Level 3" of operation where we operate with limited powers. He said that his home planet is at "Level 5" He stated about us being here that at Level 3, we can become "confused". He claims that by one of us becomming confused, that shows we are making progress. Confusion causes us to move out of any comfortable ruts we are in and start to question our core beliefs. He said that only be becomming confused and then cleaning up our own confusions can we achieve what we came here to achieve.

II. INTENTION: Similar to what Johnny, TMT, says, we are always right or correct. Everything which we intend comes to pass, exactly as we intend it.

III. TIME: Linear time is just a construct of our Level 3 limited existence. Actually, past, present and future are all just one and exist simultaneously.

IV PORTALS IN TIME He claimed that 10/10/10, the day we met was a special day in the cosmos when time opened a bit. 11/11/11 will be another such day but on 12/21/12 THAT WILL BE THE BIGGIE.

V ON NUCLEAR WEAPONS He speaks of some organization of Level 5 Civilizations called United Worlds. He says that they will absolutely not allow human usage of any nuclear weapon to take place here on Earth. He says that they have already de activated many of our nuclear weapons and that the U.S. government knows about it.

VI MOONBASE He claimed that advanced E.T. societies are occupying friendly research and observation centers on our Moon. Our Apollo astronauts encountered them in 1969 and were told that they were friendly but their operations had to be kept secretive. We were ordered never to return to the Moon and the U.S. government has complied and that is why we never returned with a live crew.

VII Fleets of starships are orbiting around Earth as we speak. Hundreds of star ships are orbiting Earth out near the Van Allen belt, that group of asteroids which might once have been a planet between the orbits of Mars and Jupiter. They are being kept hidden by some sort of curtain.

VIII Dec 21, 2012 The curtain will be opened and the hundreds of ships will become visible and will move towards Earth. They will be friendly but will tolerate no nonsense from our governments if we attempt to engage them with fire. It has been deemed that Earth is going to rise from a Level III to a Level IV Civilizasation and that they are going to facilitate this advancement. The power and wisdom of the beings on Earth are going to be expanded so that we will be much more God like and be in much greater control of our divine powers.

HEALING ABILITIES: A couple of interesting points came up in the Q & A. One concerned me. A young woman claimed that she had healing abilities and when she touched someone's head, she could get an idea of what was the root cause of their body ailments. She asked if she should pursue that ability or just put in on hold until she understands it better. I HAVE THAT EXACT SAME ABILITY so I was interested in his answer. Of course, he answered that she not only should but she must pursue that ability and work to expand it. He suggested that she examine very closely the first hint of knowledge which she picked up. Train her "light' on the exact moment, the exact spot the knowledge suddenly appeared in her mind and then try and trace it back from there to where it emanated from. He said that if she did this repeatedly, she would gain more and more incites and understanding about her ability and her technique would grow and get stronger.

FINDING A LIFE MATE OR 2D PARTNER OR JUST GOOD FRIENDS He stated each of us has a life mate 2 D partner on Earth. We just have to find them. He recommended mocking up exactly what you wanted, doing a mental picture, writing on paper or whatever it took. You then Intend that the person is already with you. You just intend this continuously and the person will materialize for you.

MY REACTIONS It was all very convincing. I would not buy the whole thing except for one fact. He gave the 12/21/12 date as absolutely 100% a done deal with total certainty. If this was a gimmick, he would never pin himself down in this manner. This time is only 2 years and 2 months away. If the space ships do not appear and announce themselves to us, then Pedronus is immediately exposed as a hoax. Why would a charlatan open themselves up to such exposure. Because of that, I, the gullable person that I am, tend to believe that Pedronus is the real thing and is what he represents he is.

OH YES, THE ITEM I THOUGHT WAS IN ERROR He talked about the music display just proceeding him on stage and said that sound was one of the most important emanations in the Universe, almost equivalent to light. I know that light permeates the entire universe, except in the vicinities of black holes while sound is quite rare because it requires a gaseous atmosphere and for anyone to hear sound, they must breathe in a gaseous medium. Therefore, most areas in the Universe do not have sound present while light is present all over the universe. I did not thing his equating sound to light was valid. Perhaps, he meant that sound was nearly equivalent to light in all areas in which there were living things and a gaseious atmosphere present. If that is what he meant, he would not be in error.

WOW, don't you just have all the fun!!

Hmmm...a landing in 12/21/12 huh? Good time to max out my credit cards....whooooopppeeeeeee!

I've seen a lot of channelers in my day and I've personally ended up disappointed. Not always though. I spent many hours listening to Destini and did not like her community. Jz Knight and Ramtha...same thing. Bashar was OK. Seth...I don't know. Abraham Hicks two thumbs up. Lets see..who else was there.

Happy Trails To You {with interesting info}.

The Roy Rogers Museum has closed its doors forever.

Here is a partial listing of some of the items that were sold at auction...

Roy 's 1964 Bonneville sold for $254,500, it was estimated to sell between 100 and 150 thousand dollars.

His script book from the January 14,1953 episode of This Is Your Life sold for $10,000 (est. $800-$1,000)

A collection of signed baseballs (Pete Rose, Duke Snyder and other greats) sold for $3,750

A collection of signed bats (Yogi Berra, Enos Slaughter, Bob Feller, and others) sold for $2,750.

Trigger's saddle and bridle sold for $386,500 (est. 100-150K)

One of many of Roy 's shirts sold for $16,250 and one of his many cowboy hats sold for $17,500.

One set of boot spurs sold for $10,625. (He never used a set of spurs on Trigger.)

A life size shooting gallery sold for $27,500.

Various chandeliers sold from $6,875 to $20,000. Very unique and artistic in their western style.

A signed photograph by Don Larsen taken during his perfect game in the world series against the Dodgers on Oct.8, 1953, along with a signed baseball to Roy from Don, sold for $2,500

Two fabulous limited edition BB guns in their original boxes with numerous photos of Roy, Dale, Gabby, and Pat sold for $3,750.

A collection of memorabilia from his shows entertaining the troops in Vietnam sold for $938. I never knew he was there. His flight jacket sold for $7,500.

His set of dinner ware plates and silverware sold for $11,875. The Bible they used at the dinner table every night sold for $8,750.

One of several of his guitars sold for $27,500.

ial>Nellybelle sold for $116,500.

A fabulous painting of Roy , Dale, Pat, Buttermilk, Trigger, and Bullet sold for $10,625.

One of several sets of movie posters sold for $18,750.

A black and white photograph of Gene Autry with a touching inscription from Gene to Roy sold for $17,500.

A Republic Productions Poster bearing many autographs of the people that played in Roy 's movies sold for $11,875.

Dale's horse, Buttermilk (whose history is very interesting) sold below the presale estimate for $25,000. (est. 30-40K)

Bullet sold for $35,000 (est. 10-15K). He was their real pet.

Dale's parade saddle, estimated to sell between 20-30K, sold for $104,500.

One of many pairs of Roy 's boots sold for $21,250.

Trigger sold for $266,500.

Do you remember the 1938 movie The Adventures of Robinhood with Errol Flynn and Olivia de Havilland? Well Olivia rode Trigger in that movie. Trigger was bred on a farm co-owned by Bing Crosby. Roy bought Trigger on a time payment plan for $2,500. Roy and Trigger made 188 movies together. Trigger even out did Bob Hope by winning an Oscar in the movie Son of Paleface in 1953.

It is extremely sad to see this era lost forever. Despite the fact that Gene and Roy 's movies, as well as those of other great characters, can be bought or rented for viewing, today's kids would rather spend their time playing video games. Today it takes a very special pair of parents to raise their kids with the right values and morals. These were the great heroes of our childhood, and they did teach us right from wrong, and how to have and show respect for each other and the animals that share this earth.

You and I were born at the right time. We were able to grow up with these great people even if we never met them. In their own way they taught us patriotism and honor, we learned that lying and cheating were bad, and sex wasn't as important as love. We learned how to suffer through disappointment and failure and work through it. Our lives were drug free.

So it's good-bye to Roy and Dale, Gene and Hoppy, The Lone Ranger and Tonto. Farewell to Sky King and Superman and Sgt. Friday. Thanks to Capt.. Kangaroo, Mr. Rogers and Capt. Noah and all those people whose lives touched ours, and made them better.

It was a great ride through childhood.
