Thanks Leon, this is very helpful!

Jeez Lakey! In all your 70 years you still haven't learned how to deal with women. My Gawd.

OK. Here it is again - I have told you this before BTW.

Don't waste your time and energy arguing ith a woman. Just go belly-up and let her have her way and let her think she has you under control. (That's what they all secretly want anyway) The when the first boohoo crying on your shoulder happens (which it will) then you've got her. Just become big daddy and calm everything smooth.

After that she'll be only too happy to oblige with anything you want whenever you want it. Just keep playing these two things - her having the idea that she's in charge and the calm acceptance and handling of all her emotions.

And for lord's sake don't waste any more time trying to understand a woman. The are not there to be understood. They are there to be loved.

Life will be a piece of cake.

Thanks a lot Leon, this is really helpful.

I have heard there are 2 ways to argue with a woman - unfortunately, neither one of them have ever been known to work.

Oh, one of my fav lines from my X wife
" I am not MAKING you wrong. You ARE wrong "!

You two are so full of shit, your eyes are brown

Perhaps Roger will add to this.

I love women.

But women are like men, we are all unique.

Beings, once feeling separated from others, often go into a mind set of domination / subjugation. (Either side)

The way to bring anyone, male or female, to the table is to be inclusive without the domination / subjugation identities in place.

As an auditor, I've often seen both sides of a dispute resolved by auditing one of the parties to the dispute. Whether we are talking O/Ws or different cultures colliding, if you audit one person in a dispute, you affect both sides. It takes TWO to have a dispute.

Working with another of a different sex requires seeing things from their viewpoint. It is a two way street.

I have always been attracted to strong women. My wife was a class Vlll at 25. She swam for Dick Smith in Phoenix and had national records in the breaststroke. etc etc. I like Scarlet O'Hara. Give me strength, courage, perception, and certainty any day of the week.

Weak and service faccy is not my cup of tea.

Obviously , if we are talking cultural stereotypes, there is truth in what you all are saying.

I thought that we had gotten past humanoid some time back.

We are gods. Disguise or not.

Give me a god any day.

Yeah Hats, if you fly out, good old Lakey will wear his matchmaker hat for you. In Yiddish the matchmaker is prounounced the Shatkin but it is spelled funny, something like "Schadchen". Lakey has worn his hat well recently and has put together a very nice couple. Also, hopefully Carmelo will be there. You two can talk movies the whole evening!.

Lakey, I was teasing you about this role you've adopted as a service to your fellow man

THANKYOU for the invite to your party. I have to admit it crossed my mind. It would be nice to meet you and Johnny and Carmelo and his wife and visit with my brother down the road.

Oh, and Leon is right.....:happydance:

This is BS too.

Hats, you and I often play at night. Do you ever feel one of us is dominating the other?

When my wife and I hooked up, she liked modern furniture (black leather, chrome). I liked English antiques. We didn't compromise. We found a something that we liked together better than either of our separate viewpoints. American Country.

There is always a bigger picture if you can find it. It takes looking not fighting.

My last post above might bring a smile to the face of many . . . . and hopefully my mate Lakey. But I wonder. He is being sooooo serious lately.

There I was the other day, posting a jest in pointing out that the dunce must behave as though all the women in one's company are the most beautiful in the room . . . and wodoo-iget? s-e-r-i-o-u-s-n-e-s-s . . .

Actually, fellas, it's not a girl or boy thing . . . .

For the who's right, who's wrong shit to be flying it takes that the parties to the fracas are only concentrating on the negative.

Surely there is some positive that one's attention can be directed to for the resolution instead of the the harping on what's wrong.

Instead of telling your husband he is an idiot for wasting his money on "such and such" . . . . try putting his attention on the positive with: "Sweetheart, we've really got to look at ways to be sure we are making best use of our money". . . . and have a thought or recommendation on how to, and help him do a better job of it.

That way folks can upgrade each other . . . now there's an idea whose time had come! :duh:

Focusing on what's wrong, even when one's partner goofs, only leads to either further losses for the mate, or conflict.

As you know, my sweet V is 22 years younger than me, and never in the CofS. So our relationship has very much been one of me wearing a coaching hat a lot of the time.

On the occasion I've observed V goof on something, it's never been an issue of being critical of either her or the goof. My handling has always been, when appropriate or opportune, to ask: "What was the outcome you got from....? Ack the answer, and handle any 2-way comm on it, then offer: "You know, there is an alternative way to address/handle/go about . . . . " and offer the info.

In my observation, it takes a total mountain of processing and case-gain to lift a person above being sensitive and reactive to criticisms and/or having their errors held up to their face too strongly.

I might have met one or two such saints while on Earth . . . but that's about it.

No matter what, folks simply must protect their stability and establishment of viewpoint . . . . even if patently idiotic. There is nothing quite as fearful to a person than to have their viewpoint shattered, lost or knocked out. Having it threatened is bad enough . . . but to have it disestablished by proof of invalidity is just too much for your usual Being.

That's the type of situation or charged incident that is underneath all this "I'm right" protectiveness. It's a hot one.

Doing what an auditor does, at Miami Org, 1982

One of my best friends is a regular on this thread, and he asked me to share this story here, about one of my earliest and most rewarding auditing experiences, so here goes:

In 1981, there was a demand that all eastern U.S. orgs send a number of staff to be trained as HGC auditors at what had been designated the Continental Training Org, the Miami Org, which at the time was the biggest and most successful class IV org. They were a truly impressive group, and I've become reacquainted with several people I met there, through ESMB in the past year or two.

I had joined staff in New York in 1979, and worked in div 6 (public divisions) until I soured on the org exec experience and decided to follow my goal to be an auditor. To that end, I recruited someone to replace me on my post, and personally trained and apprenticed him on my functions until my superior originated to me that I had completed this task well enough to move on. I signed a new 5 year contract to join the TTC (technical training corps, the people on staff who are training to become auditors for the organization), and had been training for a few months when this demand to send staff to Miami materialized.

I had recently gotten married to my first wife, who had two young children. She had also joined staff, and both of us were being asked to go to Miami to train there. While she was being successfully persuaded to go, I was simultaneously refusing, because I considered the idea a slight to my own org, and I saw no reason I couldn't train just as well where I was. Two things happened to change my mind, the first being that if I wasn't going to Miami, I was expected to mind my new bride's 2 young children myself when I barely knew them, so that she could go off carefree to train (as it turned out, she had very little interest in the well-being of her own children, but that's a story for another day) and I was called into the org's executive director's office after steadfastly refusing to be sent out of the org for training, and saw him pretty much beg me to reconsider, cowering, with two big monkeys in paramilitary uniforms (the "Sea Organization") standing on each side of him, arms folded, clearly applying intimidation toward him that would never fly against me. I felt a pull to rescue/save him from whatever threat he was under. Looking back, maybe that was their plan. At any rate, at that point, I acquiesced.

At the age of 26, I took my first commercial airline flight, as the New Org TTC I/C (person in charge of all the auditors in training from the New York org).

More to follow....

Hatty!!!

somebody please let me celebrate Halloween first! Don't lets steal the thunder of the big Boo :p

halloween_graveyards_25.gif

Hatty, where did you get that picture of my house??? :omg:

The Big Boo and Thanksgiving are always fun in and of themselves... but the retailers are desperate for sales this year. Sigh. :eyeroll:

Oh, but thousands of posters can be very wrong at times.
Have you ever read the book "Extraordinary Popular Delusions and The Madness of Crowds"?
Look it up on Amazon and buy it. I highly recommend it.

Yes, I've read it, and it's in my library for re-reading and referral to others in the future. I recommend it, too.

I told Candy this morning that we are over 181,000 in hits and will soon hit 200,000 and Candy insisted we have a party to celebrate 200,000 in two to three weeks.

I am going to host it at my house in the Fullerton area of Orange County. We will have food, and non alcoholic drinks. I have a pool and a jacuzzi and we have a hillside view looking North with a view of well over 180 degrees. Any Apollo '73 members are welcome to attend plus we will Edey and all her friends from Ginger's Wellness Center and the Unity Universalist Church plus her Kangen water friends and I will also invite the Todhunters. Johnny, TMT, will be there and Candy will co host with me.

I got ex wife Evy's okay to hold this event and she will attend with her new boyfriend Robert.

You talk about a party, this will be the blow out of blow outs, something to remember. I will be mailing out the particulars over the next week or so.
Lakey

:D YAY!!! :happydance:

So, Lakey, in the vein of your last request of me to comment on your writings and your expecting me to address the issue of maturity and wisdom . . . . :D

It seems from the above you are slow to learn from experience along with not from the aging process . . . :D

Lakey, all the women in your company that evening were the most beautiful women in the room! :duh:

All I have to say is that Candy is truly a saint if she is still talking to you after the above. :p

R

Candy is beautiful both in ourward appearance and on the inside, in Spirit, character and personality!!! :happydance:

Beautifully put, about the spiritual "tingling"!

How the Hell do I say this?

A line I used on my wife was from a popular song from the day, “If I said you had a beautiful body, would you hold it against me?”

That went over well.

But really what I look at are BEINGS. I like the ones who glow.

A good friend married a Playmate centerfold. Can you say “Golddigger”?

Back to what is important. I’m attracted to beings, not bodies. What I look for is a safe space, intelligence, depth, a reader, a clear strong attitude, and an adventurous spirit.
The chemistry thing is not physical. One or two beings can initiate it or co create it.

What I do is envelop the woman in a safe warm spiritual cocoon. Not unlike a power auditor. There is nothing physical about this.

If chemistry is going to occur, it is going to be in alignment with spiritual priorities. It isn’t going to be based on our mutual love of walking in the sand at sunset.

It most likely is dependent on our mutual ability to spiritually make the other tingle. The willingness to reach, as a being, and tingle the other being isn’t physical. It is a non verbal blanketing with love, admiration, desire, and strength.

Well said, Carmellow!!! May I second that and say that I agree? :happydance:

Next, ex wife Evy, no decided she doesn't want to use our house. The reason, strangers will be walking through the house using the bathrooms. They could steal things or case the house out and come back later to rob us or people could mention the address and put in on the internet and maybe OSA would be at our door. This woman is a lawyer, after all and that is how they think.

Lakey, at some point I should come over and you could introduce me to Evy as a retired serial killer. See how long we could play it straight before she either starts laughing or runs away.

As far as arguments, my wife and I don't have many arguments. I don't like arguments. I pick my battles. Most of the time I let her have her way. The times that I feel like having my way, she lets me have my way rather than pissing me off. It works out.

Welcome!

I thank you for the welcome !

I thought my user name was an obvious play on auditors code. I'm by far a baby among this group. I got in about '72 and out on '93 - but publicly out in 09 ( long story ).

Was never in SO but audited for orgs and missions for some 4,000 hours and did the OT levels.

One day I'll get into the whole story, for now, it is just boring.

I do enjoy being here.

Welcome Toadie, you are among friends here! :)

I was planning on bringing my nephew , George (played by Robert Wagner), who is in the family business.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xMiRxq12Fx0

You should tell your ex-wife, that you have already told your friends the GPS coordinates of the house, the alarm code, and have invited them over whenever they are in the neighborhood.

In actual factual fact, I've been toying with the idea of bringing a friend to one of these gatherings of old timers. He is OSA. Tory has already met him. He and I go back four decades as friends. I would so like to give him a little reality shift. He is a good guy through and through. Just doesn't have the full picture.

Carmellow, do you remember the saying (was it on a poster or bumper sticker?) from the 60's that said "Dirty Old Men Need Love Too?" :p

Well, as far as I am concerned, that applies to OSA. None of them have a good grasp on reality or the full picture, or they wouldn't be doing what they are doing...and we ALL would so like to give them a little reality shift. Not sure just hanging out with our crowd would do it, but...

something should!
