Terrill: I've never had a whiskey. Tried my first Scotch the other night, but, man does it taste potent! I had to dilute it a whole lot.

Around the age of 34, I did use to have a shot of Cuervo Gold Tequila once a fortnight, with my Hawaiian friends...then we'd dance the night away and go skinny dipping in Waikiki Beach as the tourists slept and the sun threatened to illuminate the dawn. Naughty, naughty but oh, so very much fun!

Candy, isn't this a double negative, if neither Ed, nor Gary nor you don't know someone, that means that at least one us do know someone, right? Sorry, I just can't resist commenting on this, it is kind of a cute little puzzle.

Candy, I know you are very OT and all that but I think Sunday, February 30, as I highlighted in blue above, is not in the cards, even for you! This month February only has 28 days and at its best it never exceeds 29 days. I learned back in elementary school around the 4th Grade that the months used to alternate 31 for January, 30 for February, 31 for March, 30 for April, etc back in Roman times and the year thus had 366 days.

It was Augustus Caesar who upset the applecart. July had 31 days in the natural order of things and that was named after Julius Caesar. Augustus Caesar ordered that the eighth month be named after him and be called August. Alas, this month naturally only had 30 days, so not to be outdone by Julius Caesar's month of July with 31 days, he ripped one day off of February, lowering that month to only 29 days and put that extra day on August to kick it up to 31 days.

Later on, once the days were adjusted for leap year, February was reduced to only 28 days except for leap years when it retained its earlier level of 29 days.

Can you imagine that this obscure info was taught us back in Grammar school around 1948. Nowadays I believe almost no one is privy to this information.

so what is the real date and time Candy is doing her seminar?

We'll be in touch by phone, Carm, but overall, the date of departure is February 18, returning Feb 21st.

I'd love to do a quick and dirty workshop on Sunday Feb 20th from 2 - 5 pm, but if you survey some folks first, Saturday could be good too. Up to you guys. We're just along for the ride.

It'll be fun, whatever we end up doing. Should I bring my longboard? Maybe too cold without a wetsuit this time of year.

Next month I'll be in Texas. Anyone out there care to plan a get together? I will be flying in there, however, due to time constraints back here in Cali.

Even I can make mistakes, unlike the great and mighty LRH who everyone thought could do no wrong. I did not experience him in this same manner, but, then, I may originate from another galaxy far, far away.

I dropped in about 4 months ago and came out and it's given me quite the theta lift. Added a bounce to my step and put a smile on my face. Cheap thrills!

Laurie Noonan and I hitch hiked up to San Jose from Fullerton in the late 60s through Big Sur. We got a ride from some teen girls, who were not very bright. They had a leaky muffler. I ended up driving their 58 Chevy Impala with the windows wide open through the dead of night up twisty curvy highway 1. They would have been dead without us.

Here's a picture of a friend at Garapata Beach north of Big Sur. Garapata means wood tick in Spanish. A beach to not sleep on overnight.

Face and I were married to the same woman once, a real witch.

We both have the same memories of the same boss, Larry Tate, and all of our wife's relatives (Uncle Arthur, her mother, Endora, and their wacky friends , Dr. Bombay, etc).

It confuses Face too much to think that we have the same time track. How could two guys have the same name (Darrin Stevens) and be married to the same lovely woman?

I don't remember this part in your photo, though....maybe it was added since I was there??

I remember hiking up the hill behind the house where I was staying....(across the street from Nepenthe).... at the end of the day and sitting on the side of the hill watching the sun go down over the edge of the ocean, while some people came by with their cows with bells around the necks of the cows, clanking away. It surprised me to see cows on the mountainside. It seemed like the sun just hung on the surface of the water for quite a while and then all of a sudden sunk out of sight. I never saw a sun set like that before or after.

I met such interesting talented people there with very interesting lives... so many artists....such an aesthetic place.

Big Sur left me with some very interesting memories....it was an adventure.
