That's the dogma.

In granting beingness, an attitude from which auditing might occur, one would grant the pc the being of his choosing or assertion.

The tech of it is this: You find out where the pc is at then audit him from there. Telling him he is a god when he does not believe so, and even goes so far as to prove to himself and everyone that he isn't, is evaluation, an auditing no-no.

The pc telling you that the is a god when he observably isn't is a case condition that, in my estimation, is even more difficult to work with.

Yes, this is the correct tech of it.

But what was that rant from CO about anyway? As Schwimmie said . . . wrong thread . . . . like, what was it about and where from and why?

Even on the original thread Markus was only correcting another's (mistaken) concern about a fellow ESMBer having a tough time . . . so why the insults and calling a person a moron and all that other put-down of individuals?

Without air cover an attack across the Channel on England was precluded, and the Germans were short of the resource to rebuild. And all they could then do was hunker down in defense.

Yes, I've got a photo of myself, 11 years old, leaning up against the railings of the Thames in the park opposite where we lived. It shows that loop in the Thames in the background of the photo where Canary Wharf now is. Quite a different scene in my photo.

All the old wharves where I lived have been turned into luxury condos. When I was a kid, I loved the smell of spices coming from those old wharves in Wapping.

Nice memories, huh? :biggrin::biggrin:

London is one of my most favorite town to live in . . . . I just wish the climate was better.

I have found it fascinating over the last 30+ years when I have visited to experience the changes.

One of the biggest surprises was on my visit in 1986 after having left in Nov. '79 and lived in NYC. The rather shocking surprise then was the smell of the air in the city (West End, not the "City of London").

I could smell the lead in the fumes of motor vehicle exhaust, and the smell of the diesel exhaust of the buses and taxi's . . . . quite a shocker. And it very much screwed with the flavor of my cigars! :grouch: :dieslaughing:

When I was last there, a couple of years ago with my Sweet Virginia, that odor was not present . . . so it seems the Brits have cleaned up that part of their act.

Architecturally, I find London on a par with Barcelona though Barcelona is a degree more beautiful whereas London is simply is both elegant and spectacularly often "out of the box."

Nice going Schwimmell! You got Carmelo to withdraw his post from this thread (which was not the apropriate thread). Here again this shows that regulars on the Apollo '73 thread don't always have to insist on being right!

I still like some of the substance which Carmelo wrote in his post. It could be the basis for a new religion.

Mmmmm, I really like the smell of cigars. It always reminds me of my Dad when he got his cigars out of moth balls to have a smoke at Christmastime. Couldn't afford them any other time of the year.

Even though I'm a Londoner, I'm not too crazy on the Georgian, Victorian architecture of London. Now Prague is quite another story. Georgous buildings straight out of a fairy book. Really appeals to my inate 'twee' nature.

I am a big Prague fan, Smartone. I was there for 3 days in summer of 2009. It is an amazingly beautiful city. They love classical music there too. Classical concerts were happening all over in the central part of the city, mostly given in churches for a substantial fee. Prague was quite modern and most people spoke English, at least in the stores and Restaurants.

I took a train from Prague to Vienna to go and visit Karlo 97 whom I met on this thread. I had to change trains in Breclav, a baren outpost on the Czech border with Austria, about 60 miles from Vienna. That place was really backwards. Not one person spoke English or even German, and it did not have the feeling of being in the 21st century. Even so, the Czech people are very nice.

I'm happy to know that Karen is fine btw.. I like her, I like her posts.. I'm not 'in her face' about her beliefs that Hubbard is the bee's knees, albeit I don't agree.. Hmm.. I realize that she's 'Scientology Celebrity', which can be useful in certain ways. But that's for her to 'use'.

And actually I have nothing against Carmelo either.

My first wife was Czech. We travelled there circa 1969 to meet family etc. On being guided by an uncle across the St Charles bridge I asked a, in this place, a politically incorrect question. My companion made a non sequitur answer.

Later at dinner in the relative safety of their home he was laughing and talked of the famous de-fenestration[ That'll get dictionaries buzzing!] of a former president.

Saw the bullet holes left by the Russian tanks after the Czech Spring
renaissance or whatever it was called. They are beautifully preserved. :)

You go to the famous Prague bar where they brewed and served a delicious dark beer?

I got this in the mail from a friend who attended the recent Freezone Conference. Quite a lovely write-up of what may turn out to be a seminal event. I thought you might all be interested to read it. Here it is:



Hi Sally, (Leo)

you asked me to give you a run down on the Freezone Conference held recently in Las Vegas. So here it is.

I arrived on Saturday morning with my friend Patty and her son Dave. We flew in together from LA. There were about seventy people attending this conference which was held down stairs in one of the conference rooms of the Flamingo Casino. Someone described this casino as being the worst of the better ones on the Strip. The Chair of this conference was Ray Robles. He did quite a good job.

When Patty and Dave left early I found myself sitting between Mary Freeman and Max Hauri and his wife Erica. This proved to be quite synchronistic since Mary Freeman is said to be one of the best Auditors outside of the CoS and Max Hauri revealed himself to be the head of about fifteen Freezone orgs across Western Europe and twenty Orgs inside the old Soviet Union, and growing.

While it was impressive when Max and Erica stood up to speak, it was even more impressive to be told they'd arrived at this conference with a delegations of about forty five eager Russians, Swiss, Germans people in tow with them. To me they all looked so healthy, happy, on target, youthful and motivated.

As Max and his wife Erica talked at various times over the next two days it soon became apparent to the rag tag band of American ex Scientologists gathered there that they had just found themselves a natural leader. The ongoing theme of Max and Erica's speeches were that while pursuing the Theta realm was always an exciting and rewarding thing to do as an individual, it was ten or more times exciting and rewarding to do this in the company of a healthy and like minded third dynamic or group.

Without even trying these two were quickly invited to organise courses, conferences, camps and meetings here in the USA as well. Because of this the mood of the conference seemed to become increasingly buoyant at finally finding someone outside of the CoS able to rally them together as a group with a shared and valid vision of the future.

Seeing these two in action in my opinion made up for some of the less lively and at times off the wall speakers that followed.
When it was over I caught a lift back with my friends Candy Swanson and Gary Hart. We sang a bunch of old and happy songs on the way home.

Personally I think it was worth going to this conference because of the old associations I rekindled and the new contacts I made.

First I want to respond to Terril's fine post about Prague and the Czechs. I did not make it to the famous beer place in Prague. My son and I stayed about 3 miles south of the Center of Prague and took a bus to "downtown" each of the 4 days we were there. I wanted to go desparately to Karlovy Vary, also called Karlsbad but I did not allow sufficient notice and the tour leaving our hotel to go there had already been booked. If I ever go back, I'll look up the beer place. I was not aware there was such a place until I read your post, Teril

Leon - Yes, Robin rode back with Candy and me and I drove. My vehicle is a Japanese sized pick up with no back seat so the 3 of us had to squeeze into the front seat.

Robin did not tell me his impressions of the convention so I am happy that Leon posted them here. We first drove Candy to where she lives and then Robin and I rode about 60 miles together and I dropped him off and then I drove home. I did not arrive home until 3:15 AM! Robin, a fellow Newzealander with Leon, kept up a good conversation with me the entire time. Mostly it was about women. He is 19 years younger than me so I kind of played a fatherly role with him. My line was to make friends first and then see if it leads to romance; if it doesn't well then you still have a good friend. He is not interested in that, he wants romance!

I agree with Robin about the Hauri's, Max and Erica. Those two have real leadership and motivational abilities. They have many of the qualities of Yvonne Jentzsch although Erica appears to be a bit more down to Earth. I enjoyed Robin's summary of the convention. I think there were more than 70 attendees because the Euro and Russian delegation alone was 45. I would guess there were an equal or slightly higher number of people attending who weren't Euros of Russians. That would put total attendance at 90 to 100.

If you combine Robin's take on the convention with Terril's post on it, you get an excellent overall feel for what transpired.

But isn't it exciting not knowing what adventure is around the corner.

I've travelled a lot and hitch-hiked with a friend in the days when it was safe. I remember we got dropped off at a mountain crossroads in Yugoslavia (as it was known then) at 7pm at night. Road totally deserted, then one car came along with Italian number plate. I groaned knowing what the Italian men are like.

We had no choice and it was the better of the two with the other choice being marooned in the mountains. As it was, these guys were gay and we had a great time travelling through Yugoslavia with them to our destination in Macedonia. Aaaah, the memories....
