the government of Haiti, these days, is the good guys. The money comes from it. What is needed is a way to use it for bringing up prosperity where many, if not most eat mud, just to quell hunger.
what would be a non wasteful use of the money?
how to develop commerce?
trickle down?
bubble up?
create small islands of slightly raised prosperity with guards, such as a manufacturing plant?
if you were the top banana, how best to make the money work for overall betterment?
it isn't foreign aid, it's real honest non US money
To me, this type of prodigy makes a strong objective case for past lives. Obviously, this child has not studied music or studied playing drums so how does he instinctively know how to do it? The crowd who insists that Man is a brain would have to really stretch their theory to make something of this nature fit into it.
How would the cells in the boy's memory inside his brain already have drum playing built into them so that a child go perform such a feat at such an early age? What is more, child prodigies in many fields appear, usually a few in each generation. There have been many musical prodigies and mathematical prodigies just to name 2 fields where this has occurred..

To be honest I think solid infrastructure is the way to go.
Roads - actual good roads that support the local transportation - if they use donkeys and carts then there should be a lane, separated from the car lane that is for them.
Reliable hardy busses that run regular routes and are protected.
Wireless towers with large bandwidth capabilities and community wireless access points with very low access charges for communities.
Put in a way for people to move goods efficiently to a market and they will start to produce things to sell in the market. Give them an easy way to communicate and find out what is happening and where they can buy things and sell them and they will start to do so. Safeguard the roads and the markets so that people can start to work without fear of being robbed.
It starts with people. Good luck to you CO - your (daughter?) has a wonderful chance to make one helluva difference. If we can somehow help haitians to unleash the creative power that they have - could transform the whole region.
Is all of Haiti like that, Carmelo?
ESMB has been the pot bellied stove in the hardware store
for all of us to gather by for the last four years.
In October, it will be strange not to have you all here.

yes, the Palace, for instance, was demolished because of the damage from the earthquake.
What did people do to survive there before the earthquake?
since ESMB is on its deathbed, here is a BLAST FROM THE PAST:

What DID you people in Scientology do for fun? And I mean real fun and not that "Glee" business. (For my Anonymous Brothers and Sisters, I'm asking, "Where's the lulz?")
I've seen threads on Tech, Auditing, etc, but... where was the fun?
And was there cake?
I was in before the group became a cult. I left in 1976.
Scientology was really fun in the late 60s and early 70s
In addition to the normal movies, clubs, rock concerts, a huge group of us at Santa Clara (literally dozens) went to Altamont the night before the concert. We walked in backstage behind Keith Richard. Among us was my girl friend, Laurie Noonan (who later married Michael Douglas, and is now married to Dave Englehart), Charlie Rush, Jack Dirhman, and loads more. We had great seats (it was grass seating, no chairs anywhere) about 100 feet from the stage.
At the Palo Alto center (they were "centers," not "missions") dozens of us got together for hot tubbing, swimming, playing in swimming pools. All of this was skinny dipping. We would stuff hot tubs with naked people. This is California, mind you.
One early morning a PC from back east was out on the deck smoking. My wife called to him from the hot tub. When he realized that she was naked he turned the brightest shade of red.
At ASHO on Temple St., before it became all Sea Org: The girls were hotties, and many wore mini skirts and no underwear. Those were good days.
In LA around Milt and Ron Wolf's apt there were games of "Truth or Dare." The truths and the dares could push the envelope pretty far. I also remember becoming a water brother of Greg Pauley and a bunch of other auditors and GO people at some party. "Water brothers" are from _Stranger in a Strange Land_
in addition there was lots of sex, we were all young and horny with hellzapoppin hormones. The pill was in use by most females that I knew. Aids was decades away.
Then there were always the funny stories from auditing. One that I remember well was with Dolores Stokes. She had a PC with a sore throat. She was going to give him an auditing assist for the sore throat. She asked him whatever the question was. He replied that he always got sore throats the next day after giving dozens of blow jobs the night before. That story went around the center like wild fire. No one was disapproving or self righteous, we just thought it was hilarious.
Another funny story was a white guy, black belt in karate, who took out a black chick on a date. When he got her back to her house, a bunch of the "brothers" were waiting for him. They didn't want him taking out one of their women. He left them all laying on the ground.
I remember working at the Menlo Park center (in Northern California) until 10 PM on Friday night, getting into my car, driving 350 miles south to LA, playing all week end with friends, never sleeping, and driving back to Menlo for Monday morning work week. That happened a good deal of the time.
The Viet Nam war was going on back then. There were lots of funny stories of guys flunking the draft physical. Albert Ribisi wore his wife's underwear to the draft physical. Mimi S. did my mascara so that I looked just right with my (future) wife's blouse. Actually, it was quite demure.
To wrap this answer up, we lived normal (what we now call) "start-up" lives, we worked hard, we played hard. Everything was fun. Even bulk mailings, which were all hand projects and totally fun.
I left when the fun left.
I've just been reading Al/Kate Bornstein's thread - or rather the thread about her book - and it got me thinking again. In the book review on that thread it again refers to the uidea that "thetan's have no gender". Is this really true though? It get's acepted as such quite widely, but I wonder.
All of the universe is structured on the Fractal of Be-Do-Have. Dennis Stephens' comments on s postulate always being simultaneously located at both ends of this cycle clarified a lot for me, and from it we can see that the Be side is an outflow -and thus always have an inflow type postuulate attached to it, while the Have side is an inflow and so has an outflow postulate attached to it thjere. For example "I'm cute - Notice me". The Be side has cuteness as an outflow and postulates the inflow of being noticed as a complement. The Other side has the inflow postulate of "(you) notice me" and is complemented by the postulate that it will outflow noticingness.
It looks complex but once you get it it becomes quite simple and so very obvious.
Now it so happens that Male and Female each have such postulates attached to their very nature. Each side has a characteristic pair of postulates (though is fact just one) attached to it vis-a-vis the other. I'm not going to belabour this by spelling it all out - you can do that for yourself.
But it indictes that thetans occupy, or dramatise, or whatever - one of the two sides of the Be-Do-Have cycle, in one way or another. This is inherent in the Goals package.
And so therefore they have a gender. Male thetans and Female thetans. The are free to change from one to the other of course, (to a degree), and they certainly can get stuck in the wrong body type.
I mean just that : Stuck in the wrong body" - that phrase itelf can only have meaning if one accepts that thetans too have a specific gender; otherwise it is meaningless.
Your comments would be welcome.
Good topic Leon! I've thought about this from time to time myself but was never able to take a deep look as you have done. I hope Hats comments on this and would also like to read Roger's take on it as well as Ted's and Carmelo's.
As an auditor and also as a pc, I noticed that most people tend to have one sex or the other predominate in their past life pictures.
Because they are viewing from the nexus of present time if they have been properly setup. "What about homosexuals," you might ask. Well, the modern science on that is saying that sexual preference is determined in the mother's womb. IIRC, it has something to do with a chemical imbalance. They audit just like anyone else once they feel safe to express themselves. I have found the 1.1ness as expressed by Hubbard in SOS is just a social response, a protective mechanism for living in a dangerous environment. I see less and less of that as society accepts homosexuality.
Even if the past life pictures were not true and were mock ups, this still shows that most beings have a strong bias as to which sex they consider themselves to be.
True and not true. Different pc's have different responses because they have different interests, allegiances, and experiences. Back to the nexus of present time: That nexus also includes not only the physical body but one's interest, allegiances, etc.
Far from a 50-50 distribution, which might be expected if sex was a random trait, I was seeing a 95-5 split for myself and maybe 85-15 for others. The vast majority of past life pictures have the person being the same sex that he/she is in the current life!
So you enjoy being a guy. Congratulations!
Your comments about "Be", "Do" and "Have" and the various flows and postulates connected with them are very provoking. Old decisions and agreements, way back, seem to be stirred up when those things are brought to mind.
Thetans dramatising or occupying one sex or the other definitely makes sense.
Life or living being a game of statics and kinetics makes for a simpler explanation. Look at some info on yin and yang. It is an ancient effort to come up with a universal explanation of life that marries very well with statics and kinetics. In an ideal yin/yang relationship, woman, the physical source of family, relates to static. Man the warrior relates to kinetics. They are mutually supportive. In practice, particularly in our modern society, the roles of yin and yang are shared by or swapped by male and female. There are househusbands holding down the fort and female executives winning battles in business.
Some beings probably prefer one sex to the other but then chose to be the other sex so that they may posses a person of their favored sex; others may prefer one sex and make the opposite choice and take on or dramatise being that sex.
Another motivation might stem from a being disliking a trait of one sex to such an extent that they decide never, or almost never, to live a life as that sex.
This is a big topic and an interesting one!
