What happened to OCMB?

Was Karen and Jeffrey running OCMB?
I have no fuggen idea . . . . ESMB is the only ex-Scn board I've ever been on or visited with the exception of a trip to a little get together with "Mate" and a couple of Anons when we were working together to create the case for Sen. Xeno's Senate investigation.

And ESMB I collided with by accident . . . not because I was looking for an ex-Scn site to bitch on or inhabit.

One very interesting & disturbing thing I found out today, is that the whole of xenu.net has been excluded from the wayback machine. When you search for the domain name at the internet archive, you get a message that says "Sorry. This URL has been excluded from the Wayback Machine." I went to the help section and this the answer I found to my question.

OCMB & xenu.net were always available on the wayback machine. Why aren't they being backed up now? Has the owner requested that the site be excluded?

All uncomfortable questions. Is it ok to ask them?

Could these sites be downloaded and sent to WikiLeaks? It seems to be fucking time... :clap2:

This is NOT OK !!!!

Yes people have been trying for years to work out what the hell happened. To be honest I've only really woken up to it all in the last few weeks. The day I decided to end ESMB, was the day I realised that I'd be free of the "obligation" that was renewed every time I did a fundraiser. I had felt trapped. Now I felt free. It was amazing to me. All of a sudden I could speak my mind. I could tell Karen I thought she was controlling. I could moderate HH without concern. As I did this the realisation of the mindfuck I'd been in became clearer and clearer. Maybe I did moderate HH a little too hard, but I just wanted to make the point that "you don't run me".

And look what happened. HH quit. Karen quit. Jeffrey quit.

Doesn't that tell you something? I mean really? Seriously, look at what happened!

Emma got her balls back.
I just want to ask a simple question:

In years past, were your budgets for continuation of the site met with the fundraising on the site?

What I mean is, why feel strange about requesting financial support and why feel beholden? If the results of the fundraisers were a few people donating a lot and a lot of people donating a few bucks, I could understand.

By way of example, one year I thought to myself that I'd throw a couple bucks in and by the time I was ready, the fundraiser was over, so I thought everything was going swimmingly!

Please, please NEVER feel bad about running a fundraiser here! If people that donate don't approve the moderation, they don't have to support ESMB again.

Meanwhile, I believe the vast majority of the members appreciate what you have done here Emma more than you will ever know.

So put up the fundraiser button for this year and let it rip!

I think the Aftermath Foundation should be willing to pay someone to run esmb. Leaving the Sea Org doesn't just mean a person requires a driver's licence and accomodation. They also need to unravel what happened to them and esmb is a valuable resource for that purpose.
I like this. I don't know much about the Aftermath Foundation. But I think they should give a grant to ESMB with NO STRINGS ATTACHED.

Nope. Nobody is getting paid anything. It's too corrupting. Server fees, that's ok, that's different. What if there was something seriously wrong at the Aftermath Foundation? Would posts talking about that be allowed on ESMB?
I would hope so. But money tends to corrupt. Maybe just a plain old fundraising drive.

Ah Trev, you're such an attention-person. :p

I think it's called moderated. Not sure though, could also be gagged, banned, silenced, roped in, depending on yer point of view.

I'll give you $1000.00 to keep it going another year - but you have to bring the "Poop" button back.

Yes, I know you are trouble, you were from the start and you have been ever since.

Leaders, ok....Mike Rinder, Tony Ortega, Karen De La Carriere, Jeffrey Augustine, Aaron Smith-Levin, Chris Shelton, Marc Headley. All opinion leaders. All have a big followings/loyal fan base/loyal Facebook members.

Am I wrong?
No, pretty spot on. Same conclusions from this end for quite some time. I should say observations rather.

The risk at hand in questioning the Rinder/Ortega/de la Carriere/Augustine/Shelton/Smith-Levin/etc. group think is being labeled a kook, a loon, and ultimately a conspiracy theorist.

Who cares?

This board was set up to ... Meet other exes. Share your experiences. Reunite with old friends.

I suspect most of the regulars (here) have very little interest in all the BS that goes on behind the scenes. I know I don't. I didn't exit one cult to gradually join another.

Right on! Just like families are complicated and have different politics. I didn't pay much attention to any of this until Emma brought it up and so I did a little looking around and my takeaway is that there have definitely been some rifts. The thing is I see where the different camps have each made excellent contributions. People have done some iffy things, I see where positions have evolved and some people have landed in a pretty good place - others not so much. I know my own perspective has changed a lot since I first found the board so I expect that of others as well. There might be a few things I would have done differently but they are also there for eternity now.

I don't think any of this has changed the way I think or feel about anyone significantly. I think Emma should run the board just how she wants and she shouldn't get hung up on what other people think or want. She has been about as good as a benevolent dictator can be under extremely trying circumstances and she should be proud of her accomplishment.

Hi Lotus

I told you I'd tell you the truth and I have. You can think me weak or foolish, and I probably am.
Hello Emma,

I sincerely thank you for you honest reply.
That explains what you went through.

Although I appreciate that you make a point to separate what are facts from what you felt (still feel) and what remains impressions and suspicions. I hope, soon all that can be cleared up in your quest for truth and that you can put those event back in the past and run ESMB as YOU wish.

I don't think bad of you Emma, and never did. I will pay anyone a pizza if they come here and tell I smeared you back channel...it never happened because I have deep respect for how you kept this board running all those years. I too have a special thought for EC. Even in the case you would be back channel told bad things about the "bitch" I may be, I don"t care...I always take it as a compliment :D

You learned from you mistakes, as we all do and you have the humbleness to admit them publicly, and it honors you.

May I suggest Emma you think again if going into a public war with Karen is the right thing to do for YOU at this moment and challenging time of your personnal life?
Both of you will pay a high price..does it worth it??? Who will it really served??? Do you have the energy to do that??? Isn't it possible to engage both of you in a real discussion and you can get out of your chest those things you need to clear up...like giving a chance..just you and her...it would demand that both of you are sincere and your conversations remains private.

I find sad that people will use it to satisfy their like of quarrels and dirty laundry when they are not those who already have been smeared publicly by COS and their hate websites.

In any quarrel or war there are people who take benefit of it while those engaged in it are the one who loose. ( I am not working for Karen..only try that you solve it instead of both being harmed)

Thank you very much for your link about , "the law of reciprocity" it has been a revelation to me specifically regarding a tough situation I am encountering and that Implies many parties and treason. It is enlightening and of use in daily life to remain free.

Good luck to you Emma, may you resolved what need to be resolved and may you find peace.

Again, thank you!
Lotus:)

I don't think money is (or need be) an issue either ... when the fundraiser is on why not set a maximum limit that any one person can contribute ... it may take a bit longer to put the full amount together but that's OK ... we could start earlier?

We don't really need much (if any) serious modding normally (we've needed a lot more since Alanzo returned but that should start to settle down again soon, lol). There must be a few people willing to keep an eye on things just in case some serious nastiness gets through.

If we really want to keep the band board together (and as long as Emma is willing to let us) we can make it work with a bit of juggling, I do think @Emma needs a proper (maybe even a permanent) break from the management side of it all though, she hasn't really been able to post on her own board for years and that's ridiculous, though we now know why and how that came to be.

I guess we will know soon one way or the other but losing this board would be devastating to many of us (I'm not trying to guilt trip you Em ... well, not much).

I don't think money should be an issue either. I'm an unapologetic capitalist. I think Emma deserves to make as much as she can any way she can. I don't think there should be limits on how much any one person can donate. Just say "If you donate don't expect anything in return. If you try to influence me I'll tell you to go pound sand and write Emma is Source 100 times".
