I've said that I drove approximately 1 million kilometers on automatic, but I also drove a few more millions on stick-shift, because it gave me more bang for my buck.

I drove a quarter million miles in a Freightliner. Does that count? And another million miles chasing the Grateful Dead in Kubelwagens. Plus the assorted GTO, XR7, Mach I and Firebird. Oh, yeah and a Fairlane GT with a 390 and a 4 speed. And some Brit crap and even a 62 220 S with a 4 on the tree! How cool is that?

bang is GOOD. I am trying to recall the neat little car I had. A karmann ghia (sp?) I want one!!!! It was dark green and convertible. And I really miss it.
I'd go for an American mustang. IF it was stick and OLD. I don't want a new car. But old cars, if well preserved can be more expensive than new.

I sort of found bangers and mash recently. A year ago actually. At costco. And I figured out how to make it researching online. And I love it.

So if anyone here has a specific family recipe, please share. I'm addicted now and would like to eat it a couple of times a month. The problem is that costco only sells bangers seasonally and I have to buy like 50 at a time and put them in the freezer. It's crazy. If I were not renting this place I'd buy one of those basement freezers and fill it with bangers. But unfortunately I am renting and moving a freezer every time I move is sort of impractical for a girl.

EDIT:
I don't know whether Karmann still exists or not, but I remember that some of my classmates went there to save their (Karmann's) desolate financial situation.

Well I was on staff and it was pretty much a beater...but the memories were swell of riding around in Miami in a Karmann Ghia. So now my heart breaks. I learn it's just a volkswagen. Sigh.

Getting into loving some one that feels loved & feeling loved by that same one leads to a joyous life that can be expressed in ecstasy !

Sometimes it seems like to the degree one has allowed oneself to love themselves then allows how one can love another.

In any event, seems to me, love gets better mileage than any other fuel.

Yeah! To grow self-love and allow others to be in love with us gets better mileage than a 6 speed or whatever shift transmission.


Although, it's still a good feeling to be in control with a good transmission and shifter lol

Here in England we only use fresh Fortnum & Mason's prime West-Country pork and herb sausages for our bangers and mash

(grilled, not fried of course) with fried onions, creamed potatoes and a dash of Colman's french mustard. Dunno if there's a recipe for bangers and mash really.

I'm intrigued that Costco only sells sausages seasonally. It's as though pigs were some exotic fruit. Strange...

"Just" a Volkswagen is the wrong way to look at it. Volkswagens were VERY well made cars despite their low price. They made up for it by keeping their value as used cars high. I've put over a quarter million miles on a 71 Type II without even an align bore, just top end and rings. A 1969 Karmann Ghia Will run CIRCLES around a Type A Porsche and even the early Type Bs. Plus you could hot rod one with Formula V german made parts and get more go than a Super 90. It might have been a beater when you had it but don't look down on it because it was a VW. The car is very worthy of your love.

they sell bangers here in the US in 12 packs.

I usually just cook in water, then maybe brown slightly, grill on cast iron.

I don't have the creamed potatoes or fried onions recipe. I make my own mash according to what I can find online from the mash police. I do and can make tea the right way. Learned it from a fellow from Lancashire years ago. Under duress I know NOT to screw THAT up.

I did not mind the dark green. The color was just a coincidence. Not sure what the standard colors were or what year I had. I am sure that if I go to search I would know the year by the look since every bolt on that thing is familiar to me. No way would I mistake the look of it.....so I could figure out the year.

Too bad I let it go when I left Miami. What a drag.

The new cars are not sexy and I'd rather just make the old car souped up and skip the new.

I also had a very cute triumph while on staff.
Just realized the triumph was the green one.

The karmann ghia was a bit beige.

I will find them and post.

Ted Cormier, who died of hodgkins at FLAG and was a great auditor, and NOTS, and my auditor, really knew about this stuff.
He also taught me how to melt down metal and make bullets. LOL. What a friend!

Yes, although that particular color would be more suitable for a Jaguar, that's a Karmann. Which is, as the article mentions, just a Volkswagen in another dress.

A beautiful car. And, since you just needed some welding skills and a few VW parts to perfectly restore that thing, it was quite popular.

Don't worry. I don't take/make demands.

You'll be safe. Sorry if it was the triumph that was green.
The karmann was a greyish neutral shade.
But it WAS very PRETTY too.

Both were extreme beaters. But they were stick so I was happy enough.
