I think it's time we got back on to some hard Scientology here. There has been far too much stuff about motor cars and restaurants and so on, topics to which I simply cannot raise enough horsepower to be interested in. No doubt I have too many overts or losses on cars back in Marcabian days. Or something like that. So here goes.

Some months back Roger (at a time when he was still marginally willing to talk to me) made a post about the talk he gave at the Pasadena get-together of Freezonews. The talk he gave focussed on the sudden big shift that a person goes through when he/she descends the Tone Scale. The shift lies just above 2.0 on the scale and embodies the shift from being Cause to being Effect, and he spoke about the importance of running these points.

Robert Ducharme also audits these areas very effectively on his R3X procedure. Has been doing so for a good number of years.

It was a very astute observation of Roger's and I acknowledged him for it. Though he seemed a bit miffed when I pointed out that LRH had got there before him, and that the phenomenon was described in Advanced Procedures. Which it is.

Unfortunately the topic died there. Roger said he would answer it but to dar=te he never has. A pity, because there are some very interesting concommitant aspects to the phenomena which we could have discussed further.

So then: LRH not only spoke about the down curve above 2.0 - he called it the Emotional Curve - but also about the up curve, and the need to run that. Though it was not until years later (on ServFac materials) that he gave a clue as to why it was important to run. And in no subsequent materials that I know of did he ever pick up on this point of auditing up-curves. It was like he spotted something, didn't quite get a handle on it, and then, with other matters pressing in on his attention, he never got back to it again. And it is a vital missed bit of the tech line-up.

The up-curve refers in particular to times when the guy is in an Effect state and - through the arrival and intervention of an outside source (e.g. the cavalry arrive), or through the acceptance of a lower beingness adopted by the person, he rises in tone back up through the shift area.

Now you have got to understand this above para very clearly. the guy is down, below 2.0, and is at effect. Either (1) the cavalry arrive or his mom pulls him out of the fight or whatever,

OR

(2) the pretended disability he presents is accepted and is seen to "work" for him

then, and only then, do you have a real up-curve.

And the insidious part of it is that it is here, and yes, only here, that the person's self determinism was tossed out and abandoned. This is where one's theta abilities have gone adrift - In these "wins", never in the losses or engrams or implants or critturs or whatever.

We abandoned our abilities when it seemed to us that it was pro-survival to do so, we won!, and so we became small.

So audit out these "wins". They far surpass the auditing of engrams and the like in so far as the restoration of OT powers goes.

Out of nowhere, another break through topic on this thread!

Very interesting!

.

Yes Leon, Very interesting! I had already figured out and stated my opinion several times that what was run on the OT levels could not and would never result in a huge return of one's OT like abilities, no matter how many years those OT levels are run on a person.

Not being privy to the information which Leon just presented, I knew only that NOTs could not possibly lead to a restoration of anyone's OT abilities. I could only speculate on what might do that and I came up with the theory that perhaps the "old" OT levels could do that. However, having done those old levels, I knew that they were not powerful enough to do any major resoration of OT like abilities. They seemed to be on the right track at least, whereas NOTs did something for a person and routinely generated Floating Tone Arms and got rid of some unwanted conditions, it was not at all on the trail of actually restoring OT abillities in my humble opinion. That left only the remaining unreleased OT levels, IX to XV, that offered any hope at all of restoring these abilities.

I knew that, as Leon states, one reduced his own beingness, and the specific areas where this was done by the being, as a pro survival action, had to be directly addressed before any such abilities, if they truly existed, could be restored. I was misled into believing that implants and heavy electronic forces were directed against spiritual beings and that they were a major cause of us all agreeing it was best to reduce in size. I thought that perhaps there were areas of Scientology tech which did address and handle these areas. The L's were promoted as doing things of this nature, the large amount of XDN which I received seemed to do a little bit for making me larger and then there were the remaining OT levels IX to XV. Finally, after well over a year on ESMB, I came to believe that there was nothing in Scientology tech that could restore OT abilities and began to doubt if such abilities existed. Leon's post now enters into the mix and changes a lot of things.

JUST A NOTE ON KEEPING A THREAD RUNING. I feel that discussions of cars, music and such are vital and important in keeping a thread interesting. I want the thread to be like a morning newspaper or news magazine where a person will check it out daily to maybe get a good laugh or learn something new or share some of their thoughts with the other readers.

From time to time big major breakthroughs will be announced. These take center stage and go on the Front Page and in the Editorial Pages. If we did not fill in with the light hearted stuff, the thread would die out and then each time a new breakthrough topic came, it would have to start its own new thread with a low readership. IF YOU HAVE A NEW YORK TIMES, WHY NOT USE THAT TO PUBLISH THE BIG BREAK THROUGH STORIES? Don't start each new really important topic as a brand new thread. I defend this concept. I believe that between Carmelo and myself, we hatched this idea. I never would have hit on it without his input.

You mean Scripps right, as in the Scripps Howard newspaper chain. Thanks for the vote of confidence. Hey, Face, how about officially naming Leon a CCG! His qualifications have been strengthened further by his recent major post.

An interesting exteriorization process?! I brought this up on that other site where Vin is posting a lot. At a Peter Gilham lecture on public speaking which I attended in 1977, he had everyone sit in a chair and then he gave the command to stand up. He had everyone describe what happened. We all said that we first create the space above our heads just prior to our arising. Some of us described actually creating the space while others stated they just checked to make sure there was space present above them so they would not bump their head.

Next, keep your eyes closed and attempt to stand up. I just tried it and and I was shakey and unbalalnced and tended to rise slower and seemed to have a fear of bumping my head.

Now, add a new twist. Force yourself to keep your eyes closed and stand up and sit back down and then force yourself to keep your eyes tightly shut and stand up rapidly, go up and down several times in a row quickly and with no hesitation. This latter maneuver seems to force a person to create and see the space above their head with their eyes closed. In other words it turns on perception directly from the being itself without the use of the body's eyes. Therefore, to that degree, it is an Exteriorization Process!

Marty, The Just Judges Mayo

Here is a cross post from some my recent comments on the "David Mayo's contributions to Solo Not's" thread. Just postin' 'em here if anyone might have interest.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

I knew Marty Rathbun…he was a BS Artist and Showboater.

I was audited in the SO by Julie Gillespie Mayo…she was pert, pretty, a very experienced and skilled auditor, and really liked and wanted to help people.

I knew and was C/Sed by David Mayo in the SO...he was a stand up guy, very cerebral, thorough and very caring. He told me, in so many words, in the mid-‘70’s that the promo and marketing for the “L’s” was very misleading and created false “hidden standards” that created problems with PC’s. I could tell it really irritated him but at the time he, like me, was not about to “fall on his sword” by pushing too hard on issues like that.

Now, all that is opinion and doesn’t prove anything but, if I was in a foxhole and taking fire, I wouldn’t want Marty, The Liberator anywhere near me…I’d trust David and Julie with my wallet any day. I hope that David and Julie are doing and living well.

Face:)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Terril,

I think you’re a good feller so don’t “personalize” this.

F... spinnin’ Marty!

Mayo built a “brick and mortar” operation that actually d-i-d something. He took on the CofS before there was internet, email, cell phones, hand-held video camera’s, legions of soldiers.

Mayo actually got in the Cage with the “The Beast”, fought, mano y mano like a Man. Mayo and those other early brave soles showed that it could be done, showed where it was weak and that you could win a round or two. Mayo didn’t have the resources or troops to fight a Dirty and Dishonest War of Attrition, which is how the CofS fights. The fact that Mayo didn’t foolishly fight to the death makes all of us stronger—discretion is the better part of valor. The CofS is now surrounded; its’ lines of supply are weakened and being cut to ribbons; its’ command ranks depleted.

The only reason Marty, The Liberator and his Indies can walk the streets, go to sleep safely at night and are not being Fair Gamed to death is because of Mayo, the early others like him, those on the “front”, the folks on this board and the other boards...yal are the folks that are beating The Beast at its’ own game, attrition, with Honesty and Sincerity instead of Dirty and Dishonest.

While the war is raging, Marty, The Brave, is running around going, “take that, you beast…and that you beast…look at me…look what I did to the beast…he’s nothing to be afraid of, and the minute he gets a hang nail he cries wounded and hurt—just like El Ron, The Naval Officer “fought” WWII.

Marty’s two Blows say it all. The first time Marty left he could have really helped do something helping stop the abuse and savaging of good and decent folks and chuidren. But no, what does Marty do? Da Monster offers Marty, The Ethical all the El Ron Kool Aide he wanted from a crystal goblet and he takes it. The second time Marty left he goes and hides in the bushes.

Mayo didn’t go hide when he left…he held his head up and stuck his neck out. Oh, but Marty wasn’t really hiding in the bushes. Marty was gathering and summoning his powers for the task ahead. As Marty, The Student of History he was “discovering” the path that others had taken to fight for freedom, decency and truth and “learning” what words of real heroes venerated EL Ron El Rey’s Holy Scriptures.

Marty can’t “see” History because Marty, The Leader is greedy and greed makes you blind, always in all ways. Marty, The Noble greedy? Just take a look at Marty’s history with the two Blows and go from there.

Here’s a History lesson for Marty, The Worthy. David Mayo, Armstrong, Corydon, Ron de Wolf and that bunch are the real Heroes and, as far as I’m concerned, you’re not worthy enough to carry their jock straps.

Confession and honesty is, in the end, good for the soul. If Marty, The On Source would try that, he just might grow a pair and actually help make some real History.

Well, here's another view on this, Lakey. This is a thread, not a frigging forum. The whole point to having different threads is that the thread title, always visible, gives the thread its motif, its theme. Sometimes they meander a bit, but most of the posts stay vaguely on-topic if it is a longish thread.

But this one . . . Christ! If I go away for a few days, I sometimes find it has had 250 posts added to it. So what do I do? Often I just skip a couple hundred posts. And I have no idea what I missed, because you guys talk about fucking ANYTHING here. Whereas if I miss 200 or 2000 posts on the two-word thread (which I have on ignore), I know what I've missed.

I'm not joking. I think it's a very bad idea.

Your point is well taken. Such a big thread as this is difficult to deal with if one just stumbles upon it and if a regular reader misses for a couple of weeks, what does he do? Like you say, a couple hundred posts have occurred in the interim. Most likely he will skip them all and just take things up in present time. I just PMed Carmelo about whether we should quit creating it or not. He is tied up until Monday with Graduation and family and personal activities and said he would be back at it on Monday, California time.

Paul, I really value your opinion. Let me just say this, we have assembled a lot of the top people of ESMB as regulars here and are also getting a huge number of views from guests. I have talked to a couple of them who are academics who want to understand Hubbard and the Scientology phenomena and they stumble onto this thread and to their amazement, a lot of them find answers here, better answers than they ever thought possible Fisherman was one such person.

So we have assembled a top group of experts and thinkers who know how to write and communicate their thoughts and who are not "agenda driven" but rather are "truth driven". The Joker Degrader types are notably absent from participating here. People with different points of view can exchange ideas here without trying to put the other person down with 4 letter words and huge make wrongs.

SO WHAT DO WE DO WITH THIS ASSET?

We could simply end it off. I bet that even if Carmelo and I both quit posting, the rest of you would keep it going for another 20,000 to 25.000 views before it died out.

I was thinking that I could take a break from posting and create a table of contents and highlight the key topics covered page by page and then maybe create an index. That would be an enormous amount of work and might not be worth the effort.

What about setting up a Website of our own where people would have to register and all that? Maybe a newsletter or something could be printed up once a month and we could charge a small fee for subscribing to the newsletter for those who wanted to receive it.

As far as changing the format, the only thing we could do would be to knock off everything except discussions about Hubbard and Scientology. Face's series of posts are totally on target for the types of things which should appear on this thread as is Leon's post of today. We could try and limit it to those types of things only but what if someone wants to talk about their favorite band, who is going to stop them from doing that?

Okay, so now I would like to ask Paul, and any one else who has an opinion. what they think should be done. Keep it going the same, change the format, just let it die out or some other choice.

Lakey, do you not think this is a little elitist? I and many others do not contribute to this thread. Do not assume that we are lesser thinkers who cannot communicate our thoughts. There may be and are a variety of reasons why some truly great thinkers and communicators do not contribute to this thread.

Kutta,

He wrote a top group, not the top group.

There is quite a difference between the two statements . . . one is elitist; the other not.

Actually, I'd say his statement is rather inclusive as it allows more to join.

Of course, how top, top his group is, is open to question and opinion . . . :D But elitist it, he, we, are not.

I just said that we assembled a forum OF SOME OF THE BEST thinkers and communicators on ESMB. I did not say we assembled all of them. My God, a sports team like the L.A. Lakers could say they have assembled some of the of the best basketball players in the world and may win the championship. That does not preclude the fact that not every good player in the world is on their team.

You say, "Do not assume that we are lesser thinkers who cannot communicate our thoughts." I don't even know who you are and know nothing about your thinking and communication skills and never made any such assumptions, I assure you.

You say there may be a variety of reasons why many great thinkers do not post here. Okay, I'm fine with that. They can post here or not as they see fit. I am just saying that quite a few of the best thinkers are currently posting here. There are a variety of reasons why I do not post on your thread, the main one being that I don't know who you are and what threads you are involved with and if your topics interest me. Touche!

SUMMARY: We have assembled a team of top thinkers and communicators. Maybe you have also assembled such a team. Let's meet in a basketball competition and see which team of thinkers is better. At 70 years old, I bet I can post you up and dunk right over your head!

Well, I should be able to post her up then in basketball.

Be assured that Kutta is a lovely lady and pretty damn sharp in the brains department. I had the pleasure of having a cup of tea and some cake with her not long ago.

A sharp and smart lady, well at least I should be able to post her up in a basketball game due to my weight advantage.

Speaking of smart ladys, I am going to purchase some FoTi recommended by FoTi, one or our most appreciative viewers. I saw where it turns hair color from grey or white back to ones original color. You know, Roger and Blue Spirit might appreciate this. Back in 1962 I was doing chelation therapy, going every day for a chelation intravenous drip. While I was doing that I noticed about 5 to 10 percent of my white hair started coming in black. I believe hair color is influenced by one's blood circulation. Chelation improved circulation and hence there was an increase in Hair coloring.

Oh yes, I wanted to acknowledge Terril for a fine post. I always thought David Mayo was the "real thing". Apparently Hubbard thought so too up until near the very end. The fact that LRH abandoned Mayo based on reports by DM really soured me on LRH towards the end of the period when I was still active. I knews Mayo's replacement, Ray Mithoff. from my CCLA days. Ray was course admin or something like that. I was never impressed with him. His brother Bob was in Div 6 and was a great guy but Ray was a cold fish, a very average guy. He married a cold fish wife, Gelda Kitchen. She was from England and was nice looking but very very cold and unfriendly. I was there 3 years and 4 monthsand she was there the entire time and I never exchanged one word with her. One time she and I were sitting next to one another in a pc waiting room or something like that and I tried to make some small talk with her. She looked me in the eye for a second and then got up and without saying a word, sat on a couch on the other side of the room. She never showed any emotioin, never got up and gave a success story, never spoke at graduation and never said a word to anyone outside a small circle of friends she had.

Mayo showed tremendous strength of character standing up to "The Beast". Terril, I do think you got one thing wrong, you stated that those who ousted Mayo weren't worthy to carry his jock strap. I think you may have it wrong, they were worthy to carry his jock strap, but not worthy of much else.

Lakey

Lakey,

Those were my posts in response to posts by Terril...I aplogize if it was confusing...I don't know how to do the "cut and snip" thing and "show post" thing.

What a long strange trip it's been!

I is a See See Gee too! :p

Kutta dear, you do contribute, you just did! :)

Seems that Paul is a big fan of following form... that's o.k.

I like a little constructive and creative chaos, myself...our freedom to express ourselves suits me fine.

Our thread may meander a little, but it has gone down some very useful, instructive and fun byways...I enjoy our format very much.

Bohemian and artistic works for me!

I love hearing everybody's stories and all the opinions.

If Facey doesn't write his own book, I'll plotz!

I keep encouraging Lakey to write a history of the Celebrity Center tell all! :D

Fo Ti, I wondered if you were a fan of the herb. I'm still gonna call you Fo Tiddly every so often, especially when the subject is music appreciation! :coolwink:

And now for something completely different...anybody else been watching soccer? Scooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooore! :D

Leon, it's been lovely seeing how extremely beautiful South Africa is!

Oh dear ... Yay, there is a literal difference between the definite and the indefinite article.

I do however find a tone of elitism (maybe that's the wrong word, perhaps self congratulation on having assembled your great thinkers) sometimes on this thread. Well, on the odd occasion when I have read it.

Thank you dear Leon for sticking up for me. You are a true gentleman.

Lakey, I don't have a thread to call my own. I'm sure you would beat me at basketball though. I am only 5ft 1 and 1/4inches tall.
