Thanks, Ted. Yes, it is "right on." I'll give an example below of how this worked out with a client of mine this last couple of weeks.

Good to see you posting here again.
Thanks. I nearly didn't come back. Who needs abuse for gifts given? Who needs to be lied about? But the fact is, this issue opened up by CarmelO on the question: "What game are you playing?" is one that has to be gotten right. Folks could get right hung up not knowing they actually have gradients of the "right" item answer to the question. And the other fact, based on observation, is that folks do not get the real, true, basic basic, rightest possible absolute answer to that question too easily. It takes a little time and processing to get to it. But when you have it, it
is worth having.

It seems to me that context is the unspoken, missing aspect of scn processing. Playing off another ESMB thread that popped up recently, LRH did not explicitly say, "I write the songs the whole world sings. And you? You sing!"
Facts and truths are not necessarily facts or truths outside the context to which they apply. In auditing, LRH and the auditor supply the hypothesis, the pc/client is expected to supply personal investigation and context. It is assumed by the participants that the hypothesis is always correct. The pc/client "sings." His F/N, cog, VGI's serve as verification of the correctness of the hypothesis.
In that sense, "Why do pigs fly?" will give any pc/client susceptible to such a question his F/N, cog, VGI's, and having attained that venerated triad after some exhaustion of time, energy, spirit, and finance, the truth that pigs fly will cement in place.
There can be one right item, just as there can be one specific time, form, place, event, terminal, etc. for the pc. As life goes on outside of session, the context of the pc's life changes. Then, a formerly right item becomes a wrong item, perhaps, again, and again. I have had it happen. I have seen it happen.
For example, scientology is a right item for many, in the beginning, later to become a wrong item because the context of the pc's life and the scientology experience changes. And we know that when a being runs a wrong item, well, the session or life can just suck.
Many years ago I consulted a doctor who, in his heart of hearts wanted to be a magician. Imagine that. Doctor is a very right item for many. A lot of people never make it. He actually made the grade, yet he was miserable.
Your advice to get the rightest item available then work with that is a very workable solution. The LRH solution of repair, making the tech right, fixed, and inflexible, while making both pc and auditor wrong, is not the best of solutions. Here I am thinking of the LRH brag about a Class 12 being able to assess a list getting reads where an auditor from a lower org got none. Well that might be the auditor's fault, it might also be due to the changed context of the pc's life and auditing environment.
As an example of how correct you are above, let me relate to you what a client/friend of mine went through recently. I seldom actually take him into session for actual processing. It only infrequently happens if he needs something very special beyond his skill level or if a correcting action is needed, or such. Basically, I am coaching and training him to be fully responsible for his case and to solo process it all. Thus he comes see me each week and we go over his actions and I case advise and coach him.
So, the example, and the actual case issue we handled.
He'd been continuously colliding with fears of failure and difficulty having the high level of success he envisioned and wanted. The recent economic woes didn't help and were highly triggering to him. He's in the selling of capital equipment business, and concurrently trying to set up a business of his own.
So, over a period of time, and after bleeding off various issues of charge and difficulty in his day to day living this following became a sequence of case advancing handling:
Eventually, we got to the point of asking him "What beingness or identity do you go into are are created as when . . . . (here was stated the circumstance he was effect of)?"
The answer that was real to him, and highly charged, was an identity/Beingness that expressed a level on the spectrum of existence between being a success versus a failure. I forget the actual item, but for example it was something like: "A failing entrepreneur."
Now, the thing to know about this, is that that is an expression of existence (his existence and being) that fits somewhere on the scale between success and failure.
What I didn't at that moment tell him was that the rightest item, and the item he was not able to get at yet, was at the top of the scale at "Success" . . . . for the truth is,
that is the item underlying all of the case difficulty he was having. It is the basic item/goal/identity he created that began the game . . . which game got screwed and sent him down tone into all the subsequent alterations of the "real deal."
So, we had a right item, and a highly charged item; the handling of which was to run Alan's identity handling "Presence 3" process. He took off and ran it solo during the week before his next visit.
The process ran fantastically well and to huge gains.
Now, what you folks might not have spotted above is that what we'd actually tapped into was a Games Matrix. My client was to a large degree aware of that fact, but not up to addressing such at that stage. He was simply very happy to get off what ever charge he could get off.
When I saw him next, I observed he was ready to take on the case at the next higher level . . . that is, to address and take off the charge of the highest, most right (as yet undiscovered) item.
Of course, the most right items on any subject on the case are positive items . . . the items that lie at the beginnings of your games (unless you think you are an evil son of a bitch who begins all your games based on a negative or evil intention/goal)
So, in order to move my client into that area of charge and item I asked the following question (this with me in coaching mode, not in formal session): "What is the underlying intention or goal you have in this area (that got charged)?"
He came up with an item in the vein of, "To be a successful business man." As he got it, it turned on heavy manifestations of charge. It was hot. Next C/S for him was to do Alan's "Charge Handling Process R/D" on it. (Which he again handled solo at home)
Note now, we are removing charge off of the hot
positive item! We are no longer dealing with or addressing the victimish "failure" stuff.
Next meeting the client reports huge gains and wins, and "feeling better about succeeding/being successful."
Now we were ready for the really hot stuff
Roger's next question of client: "What's the underlying identity or Beingness you created or use to play this game of being a successful businessman?"
He actually "listed off," noted several (candidate/potentials). So I told him to take his time. Get on the meter, and locate the
most right item/identity and run "Presence 3" on it.
And I also gave him some tech advice to go along with the action. I told him to be alert to the phenomena, that when he is running the "Presence 3" on the high level positive identity, what he will likely, possibly, become aware of is how it declined down the mood/tone scale as the game changed through time. So I warned him to note it, and any lower level/lower mood scale identities that come to view.
Ideally, one can spot in this manner the lowest level negative identity of the Game and Matrix.
Cut the long story short, when seen next my client had successfully accomplished the following:
1) he got and ran a huge, right item, and while running it, he
2) discovered and opened up a spectrum of descending and gradient degrees of lesser success down through degrees of increasing failure, and these expressed as identities/Beingness for him.
3) he completed the Presence 3 on the identity he originally found as the top positive, but what it led to was the discovery of an even higher, more right . . . indeed the absolutely most right item on this subject/area of his existence.
When I saw him last Wednesday, he was having fun dealing with/processing all these identities that ranged the spectrum from success to failure. (I'll not relay what his items are. You will need to find your own, if indeed you have this kind of situation on your case)
His final action on handling this side of his Matrix will be to run oppose and O/W for and between the key identities of the Matrix.
