Can You Be a Christian Scientologist? (Juliette Lewis Says YES in New Interview)

Christian then and now

When I started attending $cn classes, auditing, etc, it was my understanding that it was a self help way of better commuication, problem handling, etc. There was nothing said about religion. This was in 1959 and I was a Christian.

14 years later when I left, OT1, Shsbc grad, and CSV I was still a Christian. I know the first question to come up is, "what about past lives?" Christians do not believe in past lives. I beg to differ with you. Many of my Christian friends and I believe in past lives.

Try telling that to an AOLA sec check auditor. :omg:

"Hey, everyone. Search the internet about Scientology." :duh:

I say: YES!!! Everyone, please do this!!! Fully educate yourself about Corporate Scientology, not just the COS pr party line. Look, don't think!!!

I hope she takes her own advice. :eyeroll:

Well I suppose this makes Mark's point. Now, what if Ron said that Christ was just made up or even if he did exist, he was a pedophile? Would that endear you, as a Christian, to his point of view? Would that seem compatible?

Not at all

Not only not compatible but I would have first told LRH and anyone who would listen that Ron was full of Shit. Oh, Yes, Christians swear, also.

However in the 14 years that I was "in" $cn, Rons viewpoint of Jesus Christ or his sexual preference was never made known to me. So I never had to make a choice.

And I'm sure that for new people coming in every day that Rons viewpoint of Jesus Christ is NOT made known to them either.

But at some point in the future Rons viewpoint on Christianity IS made known to scientologists (if needed) and at that point it can be a serious problem.

As an example, here's part of a statement from Michael Pattinson:
http://www.lisamcpherson.org/pattinsn.htm

4) At the end of 1996 I was subjected to [a] horrible kind of "religious
deprogramming" in the Scientology "Fort Harrison Hotel". This was done,
using an "E-meter", by a top official of the "Religious technology Center" (RTC)
namely Mr. Marty Rathbun. I was interrogated for several hours on the most
intimate personal religious beliefs (Christian) and his actions were designed
clearly to get me to give up my Christian religious beliefs in exchange
for RTC's "eligibility authorization" to read a confidential publication
about a defective "OT level" I had previously completed (OT 7).
His utter contempt for my religious beliefs were all to apparent. He felt
that all other religions apart from Scientology should be destroyed and
probably would be in time by Scientology, using RTC's programs
of "eligibility's" as the means of forcing people to give up other faiths.

I also had to undergo many hours of 'false data removal",,,to try to
"get me to realize" that the ONLY valid religion was Scientology.

It did not work.

My considered, personal opinion is that Scientology is definitely
NOT A RELIGION.

These are a few of the many things I can testify to.

I declare under penalty of perjury under California Laws that the above
is true and correct per my own personal experiences.

It's possible that Juliette Lewis may not have had a problem up to this point with holding onto some Christian beliefs but it could still become a problem at some point in the future.

How many people who identify themselves as being "Christian" would become a Scientologist if they were first made aware of Hubbards true opinion of their religion?

Should they be concerned about any possible conflict someone will grab a "What is Scientology"? to alleviate any concerns they might have, and assure them that there is no conflict.

However when they get onto the Class 8 course they'll learn some of the truth they were not "ready" for when a new public:

In Scientology's Class 8 course, lecture 10, (3 October 1968) Hubbard taught, "Somebody somewhere on this planet, back about 600 B.C. found some pieces of R6 [a suppressive implant], and I don't know how they found it, either by watching madman or something. But since that time they have used it and it became what is known as Christianity. The man on the cross. There was no Christ" (Corydon and Hubbard, L. Ron Hubbard, Messiah or Madman? p. 362).
http://www.watchman.org/sci/hubrel03.htm

I know that there are a number of the original authors of the What is Scientology book on ESMB, including Larry Brennan and Nancy Many.
It would be nice if one day they came out with a revised and reissued version to reveal what scientology REALLY feels about other religions, the family, and many other basic questions that new people have.

There's a world of difference between what the truth is and what is an "acceptable truth".

The information in the Class 8 materials IS the truth but certainly is NOT acceptable as it would result in public leaving before the CoS has a chance to sell their brand of spiritual deception and rape their bank account.

Christian scientologist? No problem.

It's kind of disturbing to me that you don't see why there IS a problem here.

Can you practice both $cientology and Bahai at the same time or is that a lie?

Can you be a Bahai/Scientologist?
How does that work when you have to give all your money to the Church of $cientology? (I have an ethics order that states that, and that I have to separate from a friend who is considered to be a stop). How does it work when you have to study full time and to work full time in the Church of $cientology or the outside in the real world? How does it work when you can't be at the Church of $cientology and you want to be with the Bahai's devotion and their service(s). If you are a Bahai, you are on the spirit assembly, and chosen by the group; how can you practice both $cientology and Bahai at the same time while you also to work for a living.
How does Bahai relate to the Church of $cientology when Bahai tells you to follow you heart and you can only donate what you want and with no set $ amount. Bahai believe in God and don't believe in man made dogma. How does that relate to $cientolgy?
Bahai don't believe in forced confessions. That is between you and God. Everyone is seeking for improvements via your inner pure heart without anybody to dictate to you how to do it or anybody to decide it for you.
Bahai people pray and you can pray the way you want and also use their prayers. They have short or long obligatory and you can choose as you go which one fits you.
Bahai believe in marriages and unity in a family.
Why is it in the $cientology the last dynamic “God Dynamic” of the eight?
Why is $cientology not clear about dynamic eight? Why, in ohter religoin is that dynamic number one?
If dynamics 1,2,3,4, applied without dynamic 8; do we have superstition?
How pure is $cientology? Is $cientology in harmony with religion and science? Does Bahai believe in brainwashing? Does Bahai believe in forced teachings?
Does Bahai believe in man made science?
Does Bahai believe in RPF? Does Bahai believe in Condition Formula?
Does other religion believe above mentioned?
I am only interested to have you to research the differences and have your facts. I am not trying to convert anybody.
Side note; the tone scale is the same comparison as hell and heaven and darkness and light. Illuminate the lamp means to go up on the tone scale.
It would be interesting to see a debate between experts both in Bahai and Scientology.

Clearly, the statement that Scientology is compatible with other religions, is ridiculous and patently false and in a word: absurd. You've illustrated your point. :itstrue:

Your use of the word *compatible* connotes a predisposition to not necessarily aligned vectors of consistent behavior, which I myself do not subscribe to, although it is your right to do so if psychological factors compel you in this unfortunate direction.

Regarding *other religions* it is a logical fallacy to assume that there is more than one religion or any religion at all, since faith based spiritual designations are man-made and have no basis in theology.

Finally, you use the word "word" without any co-linear, inherency attendant to its semiotic origins.

I have stated this as simply and clearly as I am able.

Shit, I hope ESMB doesn't have an RPF where bad posters are sent. :D

Yes, Markab Aker, succinctly put and with the reserve and character not often seen, as such, on these boards to wit, post hoc ergo proptor hoc, not withstanding the basic tenets involved and therefore demonstrated on a broad scale.

I hope I have made myself as clear as you have.

You may be able to use some of the tools of Scientology in your Christian life but there's no chance of being both at the same time. Specially as a Scientologist ( a "real" one) you're to be progressing up the bridge.
Many ideas conflict, unless you want to come up with some real nonsense to justify the differences in ideas.

Having a separate religious faith and a belief in $ci is considered an aberration. Once more a semi celeb $ci is pandering to the media to disclose another lie about $ci. You can't be a $ci/(insert faith here). Hubtard did not approve of competition or alternate systems.

Great posts Type4, HH & Synthia!

HelluvaHoax!

It's called "equivocation".

Nice wordage!! Much nicer (and more accurate) than the sinful syntax I would have used to describe it. Thanks!

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Equivocation

(wiki) Equivocation is classified as both a formal and informal logical fallacy. It is the misleading use of a term with more than one meaning or sense (by glossing over which meaning is intended at a particular time).

To do this standardly, I probably should use the word in sentences until I feel good about it.

"When I asked the celebrity if they were a Christian or a Scientologist, all I got was equivocation."

"The celebrity told me that it was not equivocation to say they were a Christian-- even though they did not practice it nor believe in the Bible or Christ."

"The celebrity said that Ron doesn't talk about equivocation anywhere, so it's obviously not important."

Yeah, okay, i feel good about the word now that I realize Scientologists don't realize they use Equivocation Tech. :)
