Can You Be a Christian Scientologist? (Juliette Lewis Says YES in New Interview)

I certainly support Marks right to have and express whatever opinion he holds. And if any of my attacks got personal towards Mark I apologize. The attacks were intended as a response towards his ideas.

In my opinion some of the ideas he is expressing are completely absurd and that's why he is getting some strong responses.

And it is not my intention to attack Juliette Lewis either. I was a big fan of hers from the time she was about 13 years old when I worked next to her Mom and thought she was very deserving of the Academy Award nomination for her role in Cape Fear. I don't know what her personal beliefs REALLY are. She may really consider herself a Christian Scientologist, and she obviously has a right to believe whatever she wishes. Sure, one certainly can consider themselves a Christian Scientologist if one wishes and maybe she does. But in my opinion, if her beliefs ARE sincere in this regard then she is truly ignorant of the beliefs of the Scientology founder as concerns Christianity. And this is quite probable in fact. Most of us when we were in the cult WERE ignorant of many things of this nature.

Any comments I made were not intended to be attacks or silence Mark. Is he making his comments solely for theatrical value? IDK

From the author of the new book, "Christianity without Limits" comes the new book, "Christianity without Christ" which explores the controversial (yet very real) idea that aliens from outer space may be Christians though they have never actually heard of Jesus Christ.

The author, Mark Baker, says this new concept will run our traditional ideas of Christianity through the mill, bringing us to a much more grounded belief that Christ is merely a superfluous adjunct to the beleaguered religion.

Baker reports, "In this day and age, why keep Christianity confined to it's strict meaning? Why not let it blossom into "other" religions? Let it be what it wants to be. Let it out of it's cage to run free. Christianity can be what you want it to be. There are NO limits and dare I say, Christ is not necessary?"

Christ is not necessary? While Baker's ideas are crazy to some, a small cult following of "Christian Scientologists" unnaturally cling to the idea.

Celebrity Juliette Lewis (Natural Born Killers, Understanding the E-Meter) says that though she considers herself a Scientologist (evil, satanic, black magick, anti-christ cult), she embraces Christianity.

"Yes we celebrate Christmas." (Head spins around 360 degrees spewing projectile vomit) "Why do you ask bitch?"

Oh, my. This didn't seem very "Christian" to us here at the New York Times but, what do we know? Times are changing. To each his own.

Wait, I owe an apology to Scientologists who have patiently been trying to "clear" me on the idea that Scientologists have the same beliefs as Christians.

Mea Culpa.

I deeply apologize!

Because, Ron himself was a Christian.

Ron believed in Heaven. He not only believed--he knew! Because...

Ron was there!

"Well, I have been to heaven.

"Yes, I've been to heaven. And so have you. And you have the pattern of its implants in the ... Line Plots. It was complete with gates, angels and plaster saints and electronic implantation equipment. So there was a Heaven after all -- which is why you are on this planet and were condemned never to be free again until Scientology.

"For a long while, some people have been cross with me for my lack of cooperation in believing in a Christian Heaven, God and Christ. I have never said I didn't believe in a Big Thetan but there was certainly something very corny about Heaven et al. Now I have to apologize. There was a Heaven. Not too unlike, in cruel betrayal, the heaven of the Assassins in the 12th Century who, like everyone else, dramatized the whole track implants...." (L. Ron Hubbard; Routine 3 - Heaven)

Mea Culta.

And this pile-on, crucifying Mark for what he believes, kinda makes his point in my opinion.
These personal attacks are just too much; ease up for Chrissake, it's Christmas!

This kind of feeding frenzy always happens when Ron's door-to-door peddlers keep knocking, won't take "no" for an answer--and keep trying to sell used condoms.

I don't need one. I already got fucked by Scientology. After the rape, I aborted it.

Mark needs to re-study Ron's survey tech so he can find a more receptive audience to move his defective merchandise. What does he expect by trying to sell moonshine to law enforcement officers who are shutting down his still?

If I am supposed to act all Christmasy, then I guess it's December 26th and I am in the return line to take back all the tech that Ron "humbly gifted" to me.

I'm returning all the stuff his Elves tried to peddle too.

I don't care what kind of moonshine or koolade he's got in there. I ain't drinkin!

Not as far as her PERSONAL beliefs are concerned anyhow.

I must say though that some of her responses in the interview involved more than her own personal beliefs. And they set off my bullshit detector.
Such as this answer:

"Do you celebrate Christmas? I’ve never been sure about that. Does Christmas count as a Scientology holiday?
Oh yeah. We absolutely celebrate Christmas."
http://www.vanityfair.com/online/oscars/2010/12/juliette-lewis.html

Christmas does NOT count as a Scientology holiday. That's complete bullshit!

Panda Termint,

Ya know, I almost put a little disclaimer for Mark on my last comment because I am certainly not one to rip someone apart. That being said, on this one, he has TOTALLY asked for this on this thread. Sorry, he doesn't even attempt to reason and KNOWS this type of response is coming his way because he is purposefully goading and working to bring it on.

Now, that being said, Mark...you gave us all a fun thread by being a funny counterpoint. Merry Christmas!!!

What's his point?

That he is the Indie-Scientology Jesus, Savior of Ex-Scientologists---and we are crucifying the son of God?

I guess Scientologists ARE the same as Christians when you come right down to it! :D

Yeah, how does the piling on make his point? I don't get that. Sincerely asking.

I have no idea.

But that has got to be the coolest argument strategy of all time! I love it so much I am going to start using it!

HELLUVAHOAX
So, it has been forensically proven that the murder took
place on July 3rd while my client was still in prison.
Thus, ladies and gentlemen of the jury, it is
physically IMPOSSIBLE that my client is the murderer!

PROSECUTOR
Objection! Objection! Counsel is mischaracterizing evidence.
We have 3 surveillance videos, 18 eyewittnesses and
the defendant's own testimony that he was present the
day of the murder. The video tapes clearly show the
defendant bludgeoning the victim with an e-meter
dozens of times! We even have a videotaped confession
by the defendant that he is the killer!

HELLUVAHOAX
Thank you. You have made my point! So stipulated!

At this point the judge, prosecutor and jury are all totally disoriented and thinking WTF? Jurors, while in deliberation, interpret this confusion as "reasonable doubt" and find the defendant not-guilty.

Case closed! Just another way Scientologists get rid of *case*.

As to Hubbard being source - He stated it plainly.

I'm paraphrasing here:

I did this on my own, others helped, but if it had been left up to a group they would have destroyed it.

Was that statement in the tape "Scientology and Effective Knowledge" or "My Philosophy"?

Scientologists believe that Hubbard is the source of Scientology; to deny that is to fail to Keep Scientology Working (KSW).

D.

That reminds me of another quote...

"....if it had been left up to a group (of tenants) they would have destroyed it."
(Arsonist, speaking about the wall of fire he set in an apartment building)

HH, this could be the birth of a new religion. The merging of $ci and Christianity with a new leader: L Ron Christ, Founder Of Christi-ology. Of course this would require a Pope to act as the worldly representative to enforce policies. Anyone come to mind?

Seriously though, IMO, what I see is the attempt of the nonchurch $cientologists trying to improve the image and content of $ci (as the nonchurchies see it) for palatable ingestion. Cutting, pruning and waiting to insert themselves as the IMPLEMENTERS of this new improved, distilled, homogenized, disinfected brand of $ci.

Disavowing Hubby (in some cases) and the church but being staunch supporters of the tech and it's philosophy is the basis for hoping $ci is going to grow since the tech works (sigh).

This thread is really nothing more than a hijacked p.r. campaign to demonstrate the happy hand holding tolerance of the nonchurchies contrary to real $ci policies stated plainly by Hubby, policies written to ENFORCE the ascendancy of $ci as the only solution. (or maybe the final solution?)

This sanitized version of $ci the nonchurchies wish to convey is for those willing to listen, primarily to increase recruitment, services and their own message board traffic. It is no surprise the occasional nonchurchy will have an incomprehensible genre of $ci to sell or espouse as the truth here. Wasn't Hubby's version bad enough?

Much of it is standard Scientology PR, the same PR presented to "wogs" for the last 40 years, and probably longer - except that it's modified for the "public" at ESMB. (We know more about Scientology than does the average "wog," so PRing ESMB on the topic of Scientology is a somewhat difficult task.)

"Wog": "Can a Scientologist be a Christian?"

1970 Scientology PR person: "Of course!"

"Wog": Is L. Ron Hubbard regarded as the sole source of worthwhile knowledge on life, the mind, and the soul?"

1970 Scientology PR person: "Of course not! Scientology is the result of 50,000 years of thinking men!, and we Scientologists think for ourselves!" etc.

Reluctantly, as a "public service," here are two old links which may help to reduce any confusion created by this silly Scientology PR effort. That confusion mainly possibly occurring in a newbie lurker, recently out of Scientology, or considering leaving and, thus, still possibly vulnerable to this sort of silliness:

What is a nuclear physicist anyway? http://www.forum.exscn.net/showpost.php?p=136707&postcount=63

The unfortunate result of being a Scientologist for the duration of the universe: http://www.forum.exscn.net/showpost.php?p=107390&postcount=55

Baker may be somewhat off his game, since his usual tag team partner is not around as much to back him up. What he really needs is another Scientology PR creation - someone who can fill the role of, "I'm not a Scientologist, but." The "I'm not a Scientologist, but" person could serve as back up, ever ready to jump in and agree with the modified (for ESMB) Scientology PR line, asserting, "I'm not a Scientologist, but..."

I saw a guy being crucified and it was raining!

There are probably many scientologists who think of themselves as Christians. It does require considerable mental gymnastics but what in scientology doesn't?

Now, how about the many Jewish Scientologists? I know several scientologists who observe Judaic practices. Is it the same, similar or something completely different?

I've even heard that it possible to be a practicing member of the Nation of Islam and also be a... oh no, that's right, in that case you'd be an Islamic Dianeticist.

Thank you Veda. The above info and links directly explain the goings on here. That gave me some perspective to understand the agenda being advocated by Mark. In essence, the tired old $ci song is being sung to the ex-$ci choir. I probably could have condensed my post to state that but I was on a rant of sorts. :D

Here is a good quote of Hubby on Christ :duh:

Taken from lecture 24 of the Philadelphia Doctorate Course lectures. This is an old game played by thetans.
"You'll find, by the way, another man at this stage, and his preclears will shift the identities and borrow facsimilies.
"Like men, there's what they call 'The ChristGame' and that game has been played and played and played and play..., honest to Pete, these cards are just so thin, they've been laid down amongst the coffee cups, and so forth, of the whole universe. You'll find out thousands of years before the year 1 AD, Earth, you will have facsimilies and dolls made up like Christ. Fact one: a million years ago is occasionally rigged with Christ and the devil and an angel. 's a fascinating thing, it's an old game. Here on Earth, there was undoubtably a Christ. One of the reasons he was ... he swept in so suddenly ah, and he, he would go forward so hard, is he had a good assist back of him in terms of an implant." (fair use quote)

Christ is an implant sooooooo........Juliette Lewis needs more auditing to rid herself of this insidious Christian belief implant. After a good session with VVGI's she can cog on being nothing but a $cientologist as Christ is an aberration stored in the Bank.
*You can't be a Christian and a $cientologist* :)

JULIET LEWIS
I misspoke. What I meant to say was
I am a Scientologist and an Implantologist.

SCIENTOLOGIST
Wow! That indicates. She really has high havingness on
mocking up different beingnesses! What a win!

ETHICS OFFICER
Hey! Didn't you hear that Juliet was declared
to be an SP?!

SCIENTOLOGIST
Wow! That indicates. I always thought
she was a squirrel who promoted other
practices with that Christ stuff anyways. What
a win to get her off our lines so we can expand!

Pretty much *everything* "indicates" to a Scientologist, depending on whether the right person said it.

The NAI might just have a little conflict over *Who's mah Daddy?*, before they get read'n up on Jesus Christ at the upper level.

Mark, care to refute how a person can be a christian and a $ci? Isn't ridding oneself of the reactive mind and clearing the planet two of the top priorities of $ci? There it is in your own leaders words. After all, as a $ci it is your duty to handle the bank and you wouldn't want any of those nasty implants having cause would you? :evillaugh:
