Yeah, but for some, that is the point (I don't mean regarding Mark, I mean in general). There are always so many 'guests/lurkers/newbies' at any given time on ESMB and I want them to know that they won't be getting tek shoved at them here to 'solve' issues that they may have (there are many other places where they can find that).
I feel that if they are even looking here they are on the way out and would hate to contribute to keeping them in the mindset or even a watered down version, because it is so limiting and (IMO) creates introversion.
I think we all do a pretty good job of communicating our individual and varied viewpoints here especially as they differ quite a lot.

The thing is, for many that are just looking, they are still in a Scn mindset, they know Co$ is fucked up but still think the tech is OK, Hubby is OK. Now, that certainly isn't true for all, but I think it is true for many. So to be smacked upside the head with the tech is a piece of shit is disconcerting and why many play over at Marty's blog.
Marty is a perfect example! LOL, he was here for a very short while and couldn't take it. He HAS been exposed to the facts and still is deeply lost in the Hubbard tulpa's trance. (I miss Mystic.)

Well that's why (I believe) the different boards suit people at different stages of cofs withdrawal, they all play a part and I hope ESMB doesn't become bland due to trying to keep everyone 'happy' because that's impossible to do anyway.
Marty was here purely on a recruitment mission. At the time I didn't see it that way though ... he posted twice and disappeared but I doubt it was because he couldn't take it.
I miss Alanzo and Zinj!

It will soften up if the ban hammer comes out, I dislike banning (even of the Terrils of ESMB) ... I do think sending someone to the naughty corner for a specified time on each occasion that they break the rules will (eventually) get the message through and I know I wouldn't want or be able to run ESMB and of course appreciate those that do very VERY much, but I don't like to see people banned.
It just seems 'wrong' and it may even make those left become stronger in their opinions because they fear the hammer will get them next and they may as well say what they really mean while they still can.
I half expect it now every time I post (and seem to have developed a strange twitch).

Yeah, banning is pretty extreme if it's permanent. I missed all the stuff that got Alanzo & Zinj banned, I wasn't reading the forums for a while.

I, myself, did not come to ESMB to find out which parts of Scientology "tech" might be workable.
I came to Scientology to find out which parts of Scientology "tech" might be workable. And the answer I got, at long last, is why I eventually bolted out of Scientology.
If when I first visited ESMB I ran into Terrell and Mark and few other "tech" promoters, were they not being shot down in embarrassing flames about their theories promoting Hubbard's "Bridge", I woulda left after an hour or two and never returned.
I just don't think that people are coming here to find out about the workable "tech". That's what other sites are for like MartyBlog.
The "tech" promoters (despite their disagreements with the CoS and certain parts of the "tech") have set up what amounts to a mini Div VI inside of ESMB. Sometimes their introductory lectures are unwittingly amusing (thanks Terrell, Vinaire...) and sometimes they are steeped in sanctimonious erudition (thanks Sneakster, Mark....) but they typically are geared to muddy the water and blur the the line between objective results and anecdotally subjective musings.

But, I never actually fully understood why they didn't hang out here longer.
On this thread, I nearly understood it a little.

They got banned. Seems they were inciting bad shit against Emma, and you know that just don't go here cause it's her board. Why they would do such is beyond me. As I said, I wasn't tracking the board then, but they apparently pushed their luck too far. I think Alanzo intentionally kamakazied himself.
Now Zinj has his FB group. He lurks here cause he frequently references posts here. Whatever...

Actually, so far (since Dec 2009) I have only had two MODERATION actions.
1. One comment I made about Baker a couple years ago (when he was explaining why he knew what Scientology was better than Ron Hubbard. LOL) where I suggested that he get a portrait photo of himself in a commodore's hat looking up at the stars. I was ordered by a moderator to delete it or die. Oh shit, I just posted it again. If I disappear you will know why. LOL
2. Another time, somebody reported one of my posts as inciting violence or bomb threat or something. It was a lengthy post I made where I drew an analogous relationship between COS and warfare. Somebody saw the word "bomb" and thought it was a good way to get me booted off ESMB. LOL. I noted to the moderator that is was an obvious analogy and they withdrew the deletion of the post and it went back up. (Apparently, upon further investigation, the whistleblower was unable to produce my fingerprints on my stationery). lololololol

They both kamikazeed , but Zinj's plane was shot down before it hit the aircraft carrier.
I have no real understanding of what their issues were surrounding their incendiary endings at ESMB. It is kind of like being in a restaurant and the cops come in and arrest someone and walk them out. This happened just as I was about to take a bite of food....
I looked up and froze for a few moments with my mouth open and the pizza inches away. Then suddenly they were gone, so I took a bite and began chewing again.

Oh that IS funny. I can't imagine why a mod would find that against board rules. I bet Mark even laughed... well maybe he complained... or... i dunno, I think it's quite a beautiful comeback.
