I am an atheist, but I don't think that you would find any of those practices in any so-called Christian church in SoCal.
 
FCDC is on a roll! Flame war between Dakota and TAJ! used to be friends?

I have a take on history; the one that founded Merka. Bradford and the Pilgrims for instance. Jefferson, Madison, Monroe, Adams (2), Washington, Lighthorse Harry Lee, Paul Revere, Patrick Henry and all those other dead white guys.

EDIT: removed offending opinion. Note for TAJ, I don't wish to be offensive. :biggrin:

That's not true Winston.

You're right about how history is virtually ignored, especially here in florida.

But at least the universities here in Florida and all over the country do teach American history.

My grand nephew in Maryland asked me for help on his history homework.

He is studying Supreme Court cases since 1900.

He is getting history much better than I did when I was in high school.

You say big brother doesn't allow history being taught?

I have a close friend who is still teaching history in high school.

You are kidding yourself

And the Stalinist Russia statement is insane.

If this was Stalinist Russia you'd be dead by now and your family would be in a gulag.

Is that what you are going through?

I know people who lived through Stalinist Russia.

Your statement is an insult.

It is like people whose cable goes out complaining that it is like Auschwitz.

Haha, of course you must be right. But ask nutjobs like Ward Churchill about history, and you may get a different slant. I apologize for my hyperbole, but eventually we will be buried if our country continues on its current trajectory. Sorry for insulting you, did not mean to be such an ogre. Perhaps I am looking deep into the future with my statements, I don't know. America has lost its way at the present.

But keep in mind that Thomas Jefferson believed and expressed that the Constitution should be re-written every generation.

Well that ain't all he said. He said a lot of things, among one of them was something like, "I cannot lay my hand on the part of the Constitution that allows for the government taking from one individual and giving it to another."

In no time we will have "apollo" begging for mercy :giggle: Jefferson also died destitute because he honored his debtors, paying them in gold to settle debts incurred in the revolution. Until recently he was revered by all; seems mischief was done to his legacy a few years ago when people started claiming he wasn't what he was.

BTW, "Eden in America" (see avatar) is what Jefferson said about central VA, from C'ville to approximately where I live. Specifically State Routes 20, 22, 33 and 231.

Jefferson was who he was, with all the human flaws, which is why he was so remarkable.

I posted some "Stats" here and on the Apollo Thread over a year go showing that the FCDC Thread had more views per post than the Apollo Thread.

Even a year later, even tough FCDC has been "dormant" for long periods of time, the same is still true.
