Well, that's got the biggest response to a post in this thread so far. I don't know what it says about ESMB but judging by the number of Lols there's a hell of a lot of folks wiping their dinner off of their monitors.

All right, well my take on ESMB is that it does serve the ranting/venting purpose well. Sort of a support group for the PSSD, or Post-Scientology Stress Disorder bunch.
Also, it's a landing place for those looking around to find other people who have left, are thinking about (or even dreaming, perhaps) about leaving the
C of S. It can be a nerve-wracking and scary time, moving out of that group and it's mindset, at least it was for me.
There is a lot of companionship on this board, especially for those who are surrounded by their friends or family who are still involved in the C of S.
It can be a lonely place when you move on and those around you have not. It is for me, that's for sure.
I also feel that public dissent and whistle-blowing are actually deterrents to bullies of all kinds, as well as therapeutic to the abused.
Maybe not as satisfying as sending in the Marines and all, but, hey, everyone can't be President, can they?

No, they aren't. Here, you can read first-hand accounts about Hubbard's beatings, over-boardings and torture, the day Ron made up OT3 and where his drug bunker was, who made up the fake Narconon recovery stats, who created the new structure and front and what the results were decided to be, and much more. This thread is a troll. ESMB is without a doubt, the largest collection of information about Hubbard and his cult, that exists.

For some reason, to me the OP called for sort of a Monty Python response... you know "The Circle of the Jerking is ESMB... etc (too brain-dead to do a good job at the moment).
I've been here long enough and gone through enough that I skim and pick and choose--know who I bother to read and who I just ignore. I now have a life, so if I read everything here on ESMB--uh, I wouldn't have a life.
When I first got out, I spent HOURS reading EVERYTHING here and elsewhere (and this place IS a lot busier than when I first got out. Hell, I'm glad people repeat the same stuff. Those of us who have been out a while--yeah, it can be same-old, same-old.... but folks keep coming out and I'd hate that if they came out and found ESMB all the exes would just be so over it that it's just be a place where we posted pix of kittens 'n stuff.
So, circle jerk it as needed. Following video has nothing to do with anything; just remembered something a bit wrongly... but I love it because it was in "Back to School"-- a comedy which actually had a cameo by kurt vonnegut... that's worth the price of admission in itself.
