I thought the NPR interview was better, I mean, Scientology is so complex. THE VIEW interview was awkward for the first half where they seemed to stumble from question to question. But then at the 9:15 mark, Leah talked about how she couldn't just leave quietly, after reading hundreds of stories of others. That was a great point.

Leah will no doubt make a lot of money on her book, but I really believe she did this more out wanting to vindicate ex-members and possibly improve or reform Scientology. She understands the important role celebrities play in drawing the public's attention to issues, just as Tom Cruise, by virtue of being a superstar, has drawn so many people into Scientology.

But it works both ways. As a never-in, I noticed Scientology and what was wrong with it, from Tom Cruise talking with Matt Lauer. Then I saw the Tom Cruise video. I was ripe for reading about more religious crazy after reading UNDER THE BANNER OF HEAVEN.

Leah knows that when she talks or writes about something Tom Cruise did, it will draw much more attention than when Marc Headley talks about it. And she knew that in order for the cult not to pull out the personal stuff, she had to write all about it herself, and I think that was exactly the right thing to do. Of course, she realizes that to anyone, even if they never rose above being a cleaner in the Sea Org, their life and how it was affected by Scientology is important to them, just as her life is more important to her than Tom Cruise's. I feel that just in telling her story so openly, she is speaking for all ex-members too.

In other words, Leah became interested in the experiences and lives of others in Scientology, instead of just the farcical notion that Scientology is helping everyone and the only thing that can save the planet, which is where Tom Cruise and John Travolta are stuck today. She grew up, and those two are still children of the corn.

I found it interesting that Leah initially thought David Miscavige was ruining $cientology.
It was none other than our own Mike Rinder who cleared that up for her.

This is absolutely not an exaggeration and the consequences can be extremely severe or it can start a series of events and investigations that result in extreme repercussions.
