David Miscavige's abuses and violence

Excuse this brief interruption, but I thought I'd take the chance. :)

Well, I just took a look, Karen, and you've chosen to ignore the many questions seeking clarification over there, so this ends my attempt into prompting you into doing the right thing in this regard.

David Miscavige is universally unpopular, and riding the wave of that (well deserved) unpopularity is a guaranteed path into the minds of those Marty&Friends are seeking to persuade.

But persuade to what?

Marty Rathbun&Friends have, as part of their "mission," the rehabilitation of the image and reputation of Scientology and L. Ron Hubbard.

From Marty's Rathbun blog:

"With all the chatter about L. Ron Hubbard's alleged shortcomings, it got me thinking about what the effect of the unprecedented ad hominem attacks against the man were. Hubbard was demonized by the cold war establishment perhaps more than any other civilian figure. One cumulative effect of it all was to one degree or another de-humanize him in the public eye. We see remnants of those effects to this day. Tony Ortega has even come to the conclusion that my mission - and the mission of many independents - is made hopeless by this historical landscape. The landscape is not easy to conceptualize given its long lived nature and Miscavige's daily efforts to make the myths a reality. Providing context to the entire picture is a long term project that I never lose sight of, but unfortunately I have not found the time to devote to it that it deserves..."

And,

"Miscavige has run a continuous propaganda campaign attempting to besmirch the good name of L. Ron Hubbard. He has continually given little interest or funds for defending public relations attacks on L. Ron Hubbard."

The outside the CoS Scientologists have finally found an effective "button" to "push," with which to apply the following "LRH datum." That button is the "Church" of Scientology as run by David Miscavige, with Miscavige regarded as an "anti-Scientologist":

"The objective is to be identified as attackers of popularly considered evils [Miscavige, and Miscavology, i.e. perverted or 'Reverse Scientology']. This declassifies us from former labels. It reclassifies our attackers [Miscavige and the 'Reverse Scientologists'] as evil people."

Confidential 'Black Propaganda' 12 January 1972

Who are those "evil people." One, according to J. Swift, is Gerry Armstrong. In the above mentioned thread, 'Is it helpful to conceal the truth?', J. Swift congratulated Karen: "Good job Karen#1: You got inside their heads!"

Huh?

In the same thread, J. Swift noted, "Unlike the scofflaw Gerry Armstrong, David Mayo signed a non-disclosure agreement and abides by the terms."

"Scofflaw"?

One wonders about the ultimate motive behind the game being played. As much as I dislike Miscavige, and as much as I appreciate Karen's contributing to the already decades-long exposure of Miscavige's abuses, I, for one, am not interested in being a manipulated or "played."

Below is a reminder of the Independent Scientology "reality" circa 2011:

"...there are OSA operatives throughout the Anonymous network, ESMB site, the Freezone and Independents running backstabbing, covert propaganda campaigns while we are 'tied up' under siege. Just look for the 1.1s using the safe Independent Scientology space we are creating to promote such practices as no-training-needed to get onto OT levels, 'OT I and OT II are of little importance': especially coming from 'Class VIIIs', 'Class VIs' and folks claiming to be 'trained by Ron.' They may as well be saying 'Scientology is a fraud, because after all I studied it all, and violently disagree with the Bridge created by Ron.'...

"...Cleaning up the image and damage that Miscavige has created for Scientology is not very difficult absent his gargantuan efforts to disrupt such work..."

Etc.

One last J. Swift quote, an excerpt:

"Where Scientology is concerned, Mainstream Culture has swung to supporting the Independent practice of Scientology...

"There are no mainstream journalists, academics, or popular authors who oppose Independent Scientology.

"Those of us who support the Indies are growing in numbers."

This is where we are being led, and I am not interested in going there.

Most definitely, I am not interested in being "handled by Scientology" again. :eyeroll:

My apologies for this interruption.

Okay, I've been observing and dancing around this issue by "liking" posts that Veda has posted without actually saying anything myself.

I have a considerable amount of respect for Karen. She deserves it and I am impressed by her resolve, her tenacity of purpose, her strength and in many ways, her kindness. She is strong, very well spoken and a formidable foe to the cult. I am sure we all share her desire to bring about justice.

Karen, from this point forward I am speaking to you and I am hoping that you take this in the warm spirited way that it is intended as I would not want you to stop posting here. Clearly what you have to say is appreciated, is beneficial and is edifying to say the least.

From my perspective (and correct me if I am wrong), one of the main things that you are working on accomplishing by posting your many well thought out exposes (filled with facts, figures, identities and real life stories) on the many message boards you post on, is to get these facts and figures to come up in search engines and to be EXPOSED with a capital "E".

That is one of the great things that one can accomplish on a message board and there is no question that it should be done. I would go so far as to say I think it's a brilliant idea. It is not, however, the ONLY purpose of a message board and certainly not its primary purpose.

The primary purpose is interaction. It's not a bulletin board and when one decides to "play" on the message boards, if you will, one rather tacitly agrees to interaction. One cannot possibly just lay down one's own thoughts without ever expecting others to ask one to expound on those ideas, or to explain, to clarify, etc.

On occasion, one can also expect to be challenged. It's just the nature of the beast. Every single person here is just as important as any other and when one posts solely for making one's own points without regard to anyone else's, it shows a certain amount of disinterest (intended or not) in others. One could liken it to being "talked at" instead of "spoken with" and I really don't even believe that is your intention.

I will speak for myself but I am guessing I am not alone when I say that one of the annoying hallmarks of many (if not most) Scientologists is their dodging and ignoring of certain communications. Karen, you strike me as a woman, Scientologist or not, who could take on ANY subject without dodging or ignoring.

I read through a lot of the thread in question, on OCMB, and I have to say that some very brilliant communication ensued that it appears you did ignore and not rightfully so, IMO.

I am not stating here that I have an opinion on the actual subject broached but simply on the fact that I can't understand why you ignored or refused communication on the matter. That's all.

I have seen the sort of Karen/Veda number where you lay down a post only to be followed by one of his in his attempt to bring about perspective. I appreciate his perspective but can also understand that this could be frustrating. It might even happen less if you acknowledged some of the communication.

In any event, I am also aware that I have only one side of the story, if you will, and I am simply trying to understand. I approach the subject with all due respect.

You write so nicely and I am going to take a shot at responding.
I come from a draconian SEA Org background and then "church" background
of being told WHAT to say, what to think, what not to say, what to be sorry for, who I could friend, who I could not, what to think, what not to think (thought police).

I am not going to be bullied or 8cd into posting, stating, un-stating, any damn thing which is not my power of choice. I left the cult because I had 35 years of control and I'm damned if I am going to now have a Message Board dictate what I should say and shouldn't say, who I should respond to, what I should be saying~~~~ this is just more enforcement of my actions.

It is my power of choice whether I interact or not.

I am here to shed light on abuses. That's it.
Emma made this a STICKY because of content.

I am not here for interaction. That is my right.

I did not leave the Sea Org to whistleblow and be controlled on the boards as to what I post, what I say, what I do not say.

The MODS at OCMB clipped out these attacks which then got imported to ESMB. I sent you a private Email filling you in more.

I will not pour gasoline on a fire to escalate attacks !
One cannot fight someone who will not oppose !

I am here for Law enforcement to consecutively read more recent and current abuses.

I am not here to fight and defend what I believe in, what I do not believe in, in the long run who gives a damn ?!

VEDA is blocked and I do not read his posts, although I am aware of the orchestrated hate campaign from Gerry Armstrong/Caroline/Veda as this is raging back channel. These are CHURCH like activities ! ATTACK ATTACK ATTACK ! Heck, I am a fellow warrior doing my part to expose the CULT !

I am not going to play this *game."

Again, my power of choice means everything to me.

I am here to report Church of Scientology abuses and that's it.
Sorry if I do not live up the expectations of others.

Karen,

Thank you very much for answering. Quite frankly, I have zero, zilcho, zippo problem with you just reporting and not interacting. I really don't care. I have no intention of enforcing any type of behavior and I really don't think anyone else is either but, I very much understand the environment you left behind and its toxic, poisonous culture. I truly not only understand but would expect you to recoil from, or just ignore anything that approximated those conditions.

My understanding (and I did not follow the whole thing from beginning to end) was that there was a question about the accuracy of that reporting. Then questions ensued about the accuracy and that was not met with clarification or a response from you.

Like I said, I do understand your stance and how you wish to make your contribution. No one can enforce interaction, but, I can't see that asking for clarification about something you posted falls into the category of "draconian". It just doesn't.

I have to say, I think you're pretty darn ballsy for even coming here in the first place given your differences with many of the posters here. Good on ya there.

Would it be fair to state that you would simply like to post whatever you want, without challenge or interaction, but that you expect people to make up their own minds about it and not necessarily agree with you?

If that's the case, cool. I can also see how you could post something and then Veda, for example, could post something to give perspective and that shouldn't be an issue either.

I guess this just allows me to view your posts just a little bit differently. No one gets a free pass but, one can, with a dispassionate demeanor, lay their stuff down and then just let the chips fall where they may which is, I suppose, what you've been doing all along.

Just as I can embrace the rant of FreeBeing today, so can I embrace the way you want to play the game. Now that I understand the rules and the gameboard, I can play. I wouldn't want you to leave that's for sure. :)

Hey Karen,

I know your reply was to Sindy and I'm not trying to butt in here but I just want you to know that I have never seen you actively promote scientology or hubbard here (ESMB).

There is a difference between actively promoting and quietly defending on occasion.

We think differently at this stage, but I am soooooo glad you are here and your respect for ESMB is noticed and appreciated.

Guess this is the short answer, then. Speaks volumes with regard to that left unsaid or, rather, that which is otherwise implied (by that very tired and overused clichéd bit highlighted above).

In this regard, I would just say that it always take two to tango and the parties involved can't always see things from an exterior point of view. I'm so newly out and not in the loop of all this stuff that I probably have no right to stick my nose in it at all.

This is my taught on it too and why I respect the way Karen expose the abuse issues and that she choose to not argue.

I did not understand , some time ago, why she did not answer,
Now I guess I understand better

I beleive she stays focus on the actual abuses
may be she has a deep wish that all the exposing would, soon or later, lead to some justice inquiry or action. I beleive it will! Propably sooner than what we might expect. The pressure put is very very high presently.

Thank you Karen

Orchestrated hate campaign?

Well, Karen, I'm not orchestrating with anyone, and I've had zero back channel communication with Gerry or Caroline Armstrong.

Hate?

Where?

Only recently, when it became obvious that simple requests for clarification, politely asked, were going to be ignored by you, did I begin becoming a little more direct, but that is certainly not hate.

Looking back, when did you first become upset at me? I've welcomed you, validated you, thanked you, many many times, and continue to do so, but it's not enough, apparently.

Did the problem start months ago when you came to Hubbard's defense, writing that Hubbard had C/Sed or overseen the running-around-the-pole process - in the Hemet, California desert - of David Mayo, and that Hubbard had demanded that David Mayo's "Ruds be flown" before each session? I then asked, What did you think Hubbard considered the "EP" was, of having David Mayo run around a palm tree in the desert: the result was silence.

Obviously you didn't like the question, but it was politely asked, and it was a reasonable question.

And, when you asserted that Scientology really wasn't a cult until Miscavige came along, I questioned that too.

More silence.

There's no "hatred" on this side Karen, and I'm sorry that you see hatred where there is none.

And "orchestrated"? Hardly. There is no "hate campaign raging back channel."

But is there any denying that, some time ago, Marty Rathbun listed six people who are working with him, people he considers his closest allies, and you were one of them?

That's not speculation; it's just a recounting of an actual statement. And recounting is not "hatred," it's just telling the truth.

I am not on any one's team. However, you are on Marty Rathbun's team, and that's OK. And saying so is not an attack, and I am not claiming that you are a "hater," as you are claiming I am. Please note that.

I don't believe that the "hate campaign" idea originates with you, and it's easy to see where it does originate. First and foremost from the "Philosophy" of L. Ron Hubbard, with its demeaning and accusatory labels such as SPs, DBs, Wogs, Homo Saps, etc., etc. Then form MartyWorld, with its own list of labels, of which "hater" is perhaps the most used.

Recently, I have described in more detail the tactics being used, by MartyWorld, so that people could see these with a clearer perspective. Since that was fairly direct, I'm sure that was also regarded as "hate."

Yet everything I wrote is accurate, and most of it is not even my words, but the statements of others:

I did write:

David Miscavige is universally unpopular, and riding the wave of that (well deserved) unpopularity is a guaranteed path into the minds of those Marty&Friends are seeking to persuade.

Yet most of my post were the words of others, mostly Marty Rathbun:

"With all the chatter about L. Ron Hubbard's alleged shortcomings, it got me thinking about what the effect of the unprecedented ad hominem attacks against the man were. Hubbard was demonized by the cold war establishment perhaps more than any other civilian figure. One cumulative effect of it all was to one degree or another de-humanize him in the public eye.

And,

"...there are OSA operatives throughout the Anonymous network, ESMB site, the Freezone and Independents running backstabbing, covert propaganda campaigns while we are 'tied up' under siege. "...Cleaning up the image and damage that Miscavige has created for Scientology is not very difficult absent his gargantuan efforts to disrupt such work..."

I'm sorry that you feel the way you do, Karen, but perhaps you'll change your mind someday. I wish you well.

Attack, attack, attack are Hubbard's activities. Started by Hubbard, continued by Hubbard, taught by Hubbard to others, and practiced at EVERY stage throughout Scientology's history by loyal "followers".

Methinks, somebody is hallucinating!

That is SO "Scientology". Using the "hate button", and trying to paint others as running some "hate campaign". It is just so "contrived". Yuck. As I see it Veda simply posts FACTS, and while he does so repeatedly, I am VERY thankful for this constant stream of TRUE information about the practices of modern Scientology that are based on EXACT LRH orders, directions and policies, and which have a LONG verifiable history.

Very sneaky. Paint them as using Hubbard's disgusting "attack tech", of course without ever mentioning that it is/was HUBBARD'S MANIPULATIVE TECH!

I will say this. I don't care what anyone's agenda is, or that someone might be some sort of Hubbard-loving-doofus who NEVER answers questions in that regard, as long as that person is taking actions that are hurting the Church of Scientology.

I very much like Karen's posts because they display the insanity of the Church of Scientology, and whether she knows it or not, and whether she intends to or not, many people will correctly connect HUBBARD and the philosophy of Scientology to all of that insanity, and not make the severe error of viewing Miscavige as the sole nasty culprit.

Because, in the end it really doesn't matter. When and if the Church of Scientology implodes or collapses, it won't matter that some minor insignificant small number of people still "like Ron". Because without that insane Scientology organization, designed by Hubbard in very exact detail, it won't matter.

The majority of the harm will be gone when no sort of centralized Scn group exists, whether DM is in power or anyone else is in power, that cannot any longer apply Hubbard's theories and practices on how to "salvage this sector" by "bringing to understanding the people of Earth with Scientology".

Every post that Karen posts that exposes crimes, nastiness and despicable behaviors by the modern Church of Scientology and Miscavige, ALSO exposes Hubbard and the general subject of Scientology, because the TWO ARE CLOSELY RELATED, whether she ignores that intentionally or not. Whether she is aware of that, whether she can confront that.

Keep posting Karen. I love how well you show Scientology to be the bucketload of shit that it is, regardless of whatever your agenda might be.

Wow J. Swift. I log in to find that I have two "dislikes" from you on my two recent postings.

Not that I think it's breaking any magic spell or anything but I have never gotten a single "dislike" on any post until now.

That's fine. Hey, it's a free country but, I went to great lengths to make sure that my communication was kind and harmonious. I can't imagine how my communication would have to be, to not get a "dislike" from you here -- except not to speak at all, and I can only conclude that, that is the point.

Guess what? It doesn't work that way here.

Personally, I appreciate every single person's communication here, whether I agree with it or not. I have never given a "dislike" to anyone's post. Someone would have to say something really, really, really out there and extreme for me to do so (not that some haven't come close).

I am not upset that you did so. I just find it speaks volumes and would suggest possibly turning that volume down to "10" from your "11" setting.

This is only my perception and it might be false

but I think there is a big misunderstanding
in perceptions and intention evaluations

May be Karen's silence is misinterpret as refusing to expose more
May the pressure she is constantly having to do so for weeks about this issue
can be perceive from her as attacks
On the other side , it is very important for people exposing roots of the abuses to do so

Karen said that she decides if she wants or not communicate on specific issues
(it's her right and she's a tall girl)
Synthia well said that she doesn't want to enforce any behavior
(I like it - I don't want to do that too)

I remember a time , I would agree of abuses in the cult but was not quite certain for the tech or LRH intention. It took me 2 years of searching to make my mind.
Some people are absolutely sincere and certain that LRH was a great humanitarian - I am certain he was a poor mentally ill man not being helped when he ask.

Who is right?????
This is a good question and can be argue for years and hundreds of thread

But we can also keep it simple, (on this thread)
as we all want in the present time (this specific thread) the same thing -
exposing what we think are the abuses (may vary from one person to another) to get attention on it and action agains it. We also can respect each viewpoint , facts, history track that is brought to understand the situation without any confrontation as we all agree on present facts and Sea Org members needs our help in working together. I worry about them.

It's only my taughts about that
thank you.

It would be condescending to think Karen would need to be protected from a very honest well intentioned post with dislikes. Very odd.
