Risk now that's a real game for

scientologists either IN or OUT. While on the shsbc that was the game of choice for all of us -poverty stricken students,,,, lots of fun that was, it also was the only thing we could afford. To TAJ- you are right about Richards and Franks- I talk to Dave several times a year and he's still a GOOD guy. As - mentioned before- I only talked to Franks once for 5 minutes and that was enough- but I was already 3/4 quarters out the door - even before meeting Franks. I know someone who still is a friend of Franks- the friend must see something very few of us did- sort of like those who are still IN vs those of us who are OUT regarding the cos.

You bring up the name of "Bob Wisner"-Wow- he was and is some piece of work. His son "Gregor" died several years ago -by drowning in Clearwater Bay. Maybe accidental or a suicide. He was 27 years old. He had been in and out of drug rehab. I knew Gregor and liked him a lot.He was raised as a scientologist but never took the bait, he had a lot of problems with his mother and her new husband [Herb Zerden-google Herb- he should be in prison]. Bob Wisner- when Gregor was a little boy would rarely visit after promising over and over that he would come and see the kid. [I was very close to the family-way back when]. Gregor got fucked over by his parents, who got fucked over by the cos-because the cos fucks over everyone sooner or later.Bob Wisner is on his 3rd wife-actually that's not bad by cos standards. His bother and sisters aren't in contact with him-yet he's an OT 8- god lord this is an awful story. I feel like apologizing for bringing this up. Another family that is fucked-good work lrh-may your theatan be in Dante's lowest ring of hell.

When I got body routed into the org for an intro lecture by Steve Groton, I was regged on the intro course which was going to be done by the famous Bob Wisner. He was OTIII and just the cats meow according to Steve so I signed. I still remember that class and how impressed I was with Bob. Very dynamic and a crowd pleaser. It was only after I had joined staff that I saw the other side: the faceripping, manipulative, and dishonest side. And there were a few who tried to win by emulating him with the screaming and scolding - even down to the karate chop hand gestures to accompany the words.

And I remember Herb and the whole dealeo with Penny Wisner which resulted in her becoming Penny Zerden. Just a whole big bucket of mess.

Bob left the org in infamy. I really did not think he would surface again, but I guess thats why he calls himself Michael now, and not Bobby.

I also remember Bob's sister, Patty. I mean, they say she was his sister, but she didnt seem to share the same DNA - a very pleasant and comfortable person to work with. It must have been a challenge for her to live in his shadow. Or maybe she didn't see it as being in his shadow. Either way, her presence is one of the many happy memories I have of that place.

I’d like to tell an interesting story (I think) about how Dave operated and Patty Wisner is involved in this story too. One day I asked Dave how he handled the product pressure from up the lines he was under. He said “I tell them I have only one pen, and it only has so much ink in it.” A couple of weeks later, Patty Wisner, who was Dave’s communicator, came up the steps. She had these wooden shoes and you could hear the clompity-clompity of her footsteps when she went up or down the steps. Depending on my stats, I either welcomed the sound or dreaded it. On this particular day I dreaded the sound. So Patty comes in to the room and says “The CO wants you to name the ten products you will get this week.” I said “Tell the CO, I only have one pen and it only has so much ink in it.” Clompity-clompity down the steps she goes. A few moments later I hear the clompity-clompity again. Patty enters the room, slams a bunch of pens on the desk and says “The CO wants you to name the ten products you will get this week.” You got to love it! This kind of stuff is what made FCDC such a great place back then.

I read these stories and they sound so familiar. It seems like a distant dream or something. I know it happened. I was doing all this stuff too. It seemed so real at the time. Yet it is so far removed from anything resembling real life today. It occurs to me that all that seriousness and self importance, looking back on it, is really a bunch of children playing "grownup".

Ipsissima verba! The very words I should have used. (did I use aussie slang correctly? dunno...but think it's a great term.)

I have a fair amt of FCDC day experience and involvement - but early 90's. Anyone else?:confused2:

Franks

Hey Folks,

So interesting to hear all the dope on Bill Franks.

In ANZO, in 80/81, we had to send some of our staff up lines for OEC/FEBC training. The ones that went encountered Bill Franks and Kerry Gleeson. When they got back they told us stories of what went down that we couldn't believe! (we had it good in ANZO at that time). The stories made a few of us go into a bit of a spin. If they were true then "these guys would have to be sp". Who was running the show?

When the "takeover" happened in 82, and we were all debating as to whether to stay or go (and as to which side was the "good side"), when we heard that Franks and Gleeson were turfed by the new regime, a lot of us decided that the new regime must be the "good one". Crikey - what a big mistake!

Even down under, out of the loop so to speak, us ANZO guys were freaked by what we heard of Franks. Many "knew" that when he and his cohorts were ditched, that we were in "safe" hands. That led to a lot of bum decisions - bloody lovely!

Thanks for the scoop, explains a lot!

Hi Div6,

I really did not have much interface with fdn folks - believe Tom Clapp was ED there and that he had a wife/2D on staff also who was about the same "what-if-ness" as he was - which means, basically, not worth mentioning, in my book. Last time I saw Tom was FSO - he was doing an "L" I think and we only spoke briefly. Kim, Bernie, Chazz, Chip, Dave, Ray (italian last name) are (day) ones I remember offhand.

Anyway, thanks for the reply and stay out of trouble.

Liz Clapp is his wife. Yeah, I heard he got awarded an "L". L-11 iirc. Kim is still ED? Bernadette and Louisa were in HCO...still are, as I had the pleasure of Louisa handing me my SP declare. Irene Rochefort was the Tech Sec Fnd....another fossilized staff member afraid to leave the nest.

Me? Trouble is my middle name...

Kim would be Kim Belotte. Daughter of Joe Belotte, old time FCDC scientologist forever getting into trouble running a personal communication group and being accused of squirreling. Also had a sideline business of restoring emeters and offering them for sale cheap. This appears to be his site:

http://web.mac.com/jbelotte/iWeb/Lifetalk/3-WAYS.html

May not be him, but gotta admire a guy who has come up with a new communication triangle.
