The primary weakness of any Scn unit is that it operates on stats. Not long-term stats, but THIS WEEK's stat. It encourages very short-term thinking.

OSA pulls this stuff to get their stat, of "SP's handled", or some such. They also have a stat involving negative PR (drawn upside down, the less negative PR, the better).

If, every time they did stuff like this, it resulted in a massive increase in negative publicity, more flash raids on their orgs, more negative comments about scientology in blogs and media -- then maybe they would be skittish about doing something that would be guaranteed to crash their own stat.

Dear friends, this from my son who keeps in close touch with his comrades in the USMC. Makes for a sombre Marine Corps Birthday celebration.

"We are asking everyone to say a prayer for "Darkhorse" 3rd Battalion 5th
Marines and their families. They are fighting it out in Afghanistan and
have lost 9 marines in 4 days. Please repost this. God Bless the men who fight for those who cannot fight themselves. --LCpl John"
