How's That Freedom Workin' for Ya? The Power of an "SP"

Absolutely correct even being a member they really have no power over you. The power only comes from one's belief that it is real and for those who are stuck with that belief it is more powerful than what is actually real in life.

Outside of raw brute force and threats of physical harm, almost all control is based on "agreeing" or "believing".

If a person did not agree with and BELIEVE the nonsense about "eternal freedom", "Scientology being the only road out", "how little time Scn has to get the job done", and other assorted idiocies of the Scientology paradigm, NOBODY could be "convinced" to pay money from Hard Sell, go into and suffer the RPF, stay up all night doing "all hands", making little pay as a staff member, disconnecting from friends and family, setting up innocent people in contrived crimes they didn't commit (i.e. Paulette Cooper, Gabe Cevavez, Anon Sparrow) or any of the many other "behaviors" that most SANE people won't put up with.

That's why I sometimes say that, in the end, when it all comes down to it, we each did it to ourselves. Because it was you and me who, for awhile there, bought into the paradigm and BELIEVED, thus allowing us to be pulled around by the nose like a pig on a rope. I know that I set myself up for everything that "happened to me" because and ONLY because I "believed" to some degree.

I remember when I was getting letters and calls from IJC back a few years, and he was telling me that "it seems there were errors on your justice and declare cycle". He wanted me to get in comm, cease all suppressive acts (I was quite loud as a critic), and come in and request a "review" of the justice cycle. I wouldn't pick up the phone or answer his letters. I was no longer accepting ANY of the paradigm. I would NOT EVER play ball on THEIR ball field. See, as long as you "agree with the basic ideas of Scientology", you really have no choice but to follow "their rules". It was clear to me that these people were ROBOTS to their beliefs, slaves to their own agreements, and there was no talking to ANY of them outside of that extremely restrictive framework. They cannot "think" outside of that tight little box of Scientology beliefs (agreements). So, I simply LET THEM ALL GO as having any meaning or validity about anything in MY life.

But, also, with that said, there is no doubt that Scientology is a class act when it comes to thought manipulation and mind control. It can catch even the "very best". The key point about this is that as long as any person accepts Hubbard's ideas, to THAT degree you will be able to be controlled by the Scn group. Scientology (just as anything) can and will have power over you to the degree that you bestow meaning, signicance and value to the Scientology IDEAS.

For instance if you no longer accept and believe that Scientology can "provide a road to eternal freedom", and that "only Scientology can solve the problems of Man", well, it is VERY unlikely that ANY reg from ANY org will be able to use ANY "hard sell gimmick", "crush regging" or "sales technqiue" to extract money from you. Instead, you would probably laugh at them. But of course, by that point you would have probably already been declared as a "suppressive person".

One of the LARGEST purposes of expelling and declaring people, and disconnection especially, is to segregate those with disagreements FAR AWAY from the rest of the herd of True Believers. Disconnection, above all else, maintains the purity of the "belief system". ANYTHING that threatens total 100% mind-numbing agreement with status-quo Scientology is a major threat to them.

Hubbard was no dummy whatever else he may have been. He knew that you ARE "responsible for your own condition", based almost entirely on the "beliefs, agreements and considerations" any person adopts and holds with conviction. He talked all about this in the PDC tapes. He was right. And, he USED IT AGAINST YOU TO GREAT ADVANTAGE.

Once anyone can get you to agree (believe), well, they have got you. That is why ARCU is so very key to Scientology and its manipulative system.

Ummm. Actually, it's 20%.

HCOB 27 September 1966

There are certain characteristics and mental attitudes which cause about 20% of the race to oppose violently any betterment activity or group.

It's the 21/2 % who are "truly dangerous," but 20% are SPs.

Add to that a lot of aberrated Wogs and Homo Saps, DBs and PTSes, and one can see why the Internet is such an anti-L. Ron Hubbard&anti-Scientology entheta place.

A little history and then I'll get to it...I'll try to keep it interesting.

I used to be married to a well known musician, around these parts, who was the head of popular band during the 70's and 80's. They had many albums out, toured across the country with the likes of the Doobie Brothers, Marshall Tucker, CSN & Y, and many others you would know.

howdypic%202010-09-11_2.jpg

This band, Heartsfield, still exists today in a version of its old self. Well, while we were married, me and the head of this band, I used to go to all of the shows and became very good friends with the other guys in the band and especially with their wives.

images

One of the band members is a Scientologist, along with his wife. She and I were friends for almost 25 years until I had the unmitigated gall to leave the church at which point I became Cruella Deville overnight.

Cruella%20de%20Vil.jpg

Anyway, back to last night. So, last night this band got together for a show. There were lots of people there as it was a reunion of sorts with lots of family, friends as well as all sorts of fans.

Okay, I was there hangin' with all my old friends during the day and the male Scientologist, the one in the band that used to be my friend, of course couldn't talk to me so he ignored me (as I did him) but his wife hadn't shown up yet.

So, okay, now it's about 9:45 pm and we've all been partying for a while and I am on the dance floor with my old friends and the Scientologist wife comes in, sees me, and freezes at the door and stands there not knowing what to do. She stands there for quite a while. I pretend I don't see her.

She then decides to run off and go to the dressing room behind the stage and stay there for awhile. I'm thinking, "Well, if you want to hang back there and be alone and not where all the fun is, be my guest. Sorry to make you have to do that! Really - I am."

images
images

After some time, she comes out and stands far away and talks to some people. It's awkward because if I wasn't there, she would definitely come right over to talk to the other wives - after all, she belongs to the group of band member wives. It's a small group, she's part of it but, no - not tonight. Cruella is really messing things up.

images
images

I explain to one of the wives what's going on. I went back and forth in my head about whether I should do so or not and then thought, "WTF, it's the truth and it's ridiculous and I don't care who knows. I'm the one that's free." I decided that I would no longer protect the church, its image, or any of its crazy rules or the people who blindly follow them.

images

"So, you see, the Church of Scientology is insane."

Well, of course my friend thought it was nuts. My Scientologist ex-friend, finally came to sit down at a table right next to ours but sat there, with her back to us, and didn't say a word. She didn't come over and officially say hi because if she did, then she would have to say hi to me too or it would look really bizarre to the rest of our friends.

images

Well, I had tons of fun with the girls and when the show was over, I had lots of fun catching up with everyone but I just kept noticing how empowered I felt. I'm thinking to myself, "What's wrong with this picture?"

I was the big, bad, horrible suppressive person and yet I was free to move about the room and talk to anybody, even her if I wanted to. No one was gonna throw me in ethics for anything, including telling my friend what a crock of shit Scientology is and how dumb it was that my former friend allowed this to end our friendship and how she refused to think for herself.

I could see that I was cause and she was effect in this situation. There were many things I could have done (but didn't) that could have cornered her like a caged animal and made her say ridiculous things in front of normal people.

Of course, I didn't do that, but I could have. For that reason I realized how much the C of S creates their own monsters and puts their members at total effect. With all that "Shatter Suppression" tech, they're running around shutting their blinds and forcing their parishioners to bale them out with their hard earned dollars.

Didn't Ron, on so many occasions, tell Scientologists not to blame others, make them cause, give them power? Isn't that exactly what the church does when they label someone an SP?

I could walk through an org and practically part the seas - seriously. Think of the absolute commotion we could cause (if we felt like giving them the time of day).

I would love to hear everyone else's SP stories. It's simply amazing how much power the church has given you.

So, I ask the Scientologists inside the cult of greed, "How's that freedom workin' for ya?"

Synthia, you are one cool chick. I wished we lived near each other so we could go out and have drink and just talk. You're a good lady. Thanks for posting.

Hugs,

Right. I was, of course, trying very, very hard to communicate in such a way that no one in his/her right mind would take offense to it so that when he did take offense to it, it would make his irrational behavior obvious.

What Marty's comment, back to me, finally got me to fully see is that he would rather ALWAYS defend a sycophant over the encouragement of open dialog. He will never see me comment there again and that is his loss (but, of course, only in my opinion). Jeff Hawkins was a much better moderator than Marty will ever be but, then again, Jeff didn't let that pesky Scientology devotion get in the way.

Welcome to the club, here is where the cool kids play anyway :)

Veda, do you know off the top of your head a reference or two on the "2 1/2%" idea?

By the way, it always killed me how with Scio-think "any betterment activity or group" turned into ONLY SCIENTOLOGY. Every OTHER "betterment activity" was either "other practices" and thus NOT OKAY, or psychology-based, and thus NOT OKAY as being (incorrectly) equated to "nasty psychiatry". In the end, within Hubbard's crazy framework, the only legitimate "betterment activity or group" left was Scientology! There was no room for any other.

The associations of ideas and "streams of logic" get so very strange in Hubbard's paradigm.

So it's 2 1/2 %, according to Hubbard, that are truly dangerous. In the end, that 2 1/2 % will be the only one's left inside as they work very hard to make sure that the 20% now still inside disconnect from the 80% out here.

So, Scientolgists, how's that math workin' for ya?

Hmm.. Anybody has the bulletin and make a quote?

I too seem to recall that it's 2 1/2% of the 20%.. However strange and needlessly complicated that construction is as a piece of communication from Hubbard.. Hey!.. Wasn't he the most expert expert on communication in this sector of the universe!?

It's 2 1/2% of 100%, but it's badly written. Someone who wants to slog through the other Hubbard references, can do so. But I'm not volunteering.

However, if anyone believes Hubbard said it's only half a percent, then he or she had better rush over to Marty's Blog and correct his MU. :)

...

Here's the funny part. Or tragic part.

Depends how you look at it.

If Hubbard had not written...

"There are certain characteristics and mental attitudes which cause about 20% of the race to oppose violently any betterment activity or group."

But had, instead written....

"There are certain characteristics and mental attitudes which cause about 97.5% of the race to oppose violently any betterment activity or group."

Then Scientologists would have 100% unshakeable, dedicated KSW certainty about that scientific fact, instead.

And if Hubbard had written...

"There are certain characteristics and mental attitudes which cause 100% of the human race to oppose violently any betterment activity or group. Anyone who can understand this has already begun to rise above the lowly, sad and doomed existence of homo sapiens. "

Then as Scientologists read those words, they would be smugly smirking to themselves and feeling that old lovely blow-down, F/N feeling that Scientologists get when they rise above pathetic humans.

It must be a kinda cool feeling to be a guru and have cult members instantly cognite with unshakeable certainty on whatever you make up. And be willing to give you all their money, disconnect from their children and wear head cams.

Scientology. A world without sanity. A world without decency. A world without common sense.

No matter WHAT the percentage might be, and no matter how one interprets Hubbard's ramblings, Hubbard pulled the figure directly out of his ass anyway you look at it.

I mean did he conduct a careful survey? Did he compile careful statistics, god only knows on what sort of criteria, spanning hundreds or thousands of years? Did his "perfect whole track recall provide the data"? Lordy Jesus, the crap Hubbard tosses out and the crap adherents accept as true.

Or, was he simply being "Big Thetan Ron", and his KNOWINGNESS did the math??????????? :confused2: :confused2: :confused2:

You want to know how he came up with the figures?

Oh Pafh! It's too easy! He pervaded the MEST universe with a theta adding machine in one theta paw, and his trusty mark 5 in the other, then he obnosed how many were OOV (out of valence) in R6 AKA - the 2 1/2% 'ers - and then by using 360 theta perceptics expanded over light years times mouse power -- oh hell - he counted up the number of people who wrote critical articles in the paper (2.5%) and treasury told him how much money he had to give back to those who had read the damn yellow journalism (20 %) - thats how he did it.

He most certainly didn't pull it out of his bottom.
