Hearing this today, I was caused to reflect on my experience of Scientology from my first joining in 1957, and I have to say you two have summed up the deception of it succinctly and exactly.
Yes, they do sell and falsely promise "you being at cause" while they indeed practice the inversion of subjugation of all who get involved . . . of course, that is the exact nature of cults: all who enter are cultized by the methods of domination and subjugation practiced therein. And a key to the practice of cultization is the false promises and deception of untrue principles taught by it.
One must realize that the nature of all successful deception is that the falsehoods and damaging lies are always hidden under the wrapping of what is wanted by the sucker and apparently true based on inability to do a full inspection of the "product" . . . One must realize that the Scientology enterprise is a cleverly constructed set up with well schooled zealots in presenting Scientology carrots while skillfully hiding the sticks they will later beat you with . . . and one MUST realize that these zealots actually believe that being "beaten" by those sticks is good for you!
As I reflect on it, I observe there is actually no freedom of choice in or within or if you are in any way associated with the cult of Scientology . . . to exert one's own views of belief or sovereign volition, per its own doctrines, results in you being disciplined and subjugated to "ethics handlings" that employ the threat . . . the actual dire threat they have inculcated in you . . . of the loss of your spiritual eternity.
This "standard Scientology" practice of theirs is on a par with the medieval Church of Rome practice of burning heretics and witches. You disagree or see differently than the Scientology doctrine; you dare to wish to stand by your family who do not see eye to eye with Scientology dogma, and you are subjected to its written doctrinal policy that demands the organization apply its disciplinary technology to, to use their phrase: "Give you a severe reality adjustment."
The cancerous evil that is Scientology only becomes real to a person after getting sucked in through the cleverly structured introductory materials that promise deceptive but sweet sounding promises of what you "can achieve."
But, having done the route and knowing intimately many others who have, I can truthfully say the Scientology promise of its ultimate and "upper level" results is false. And I can assert this in the context of having worked with others who had been through the Scientology "standard technology" grinder of lies to both correct and repair Scientology false technology, errors and damage and myself being able to participate in the development of more honest, truthful, exact and more highly workable practices to attain what we went into Scientology to attempt to attain.
