I'm serious. I've been reading the how-tos etc. for the past 20 minutes and I'm downloading the desktop thingy (45.8 MB) this very second.

Awesome! That was my first - it's a blast. It has already had over 50 views, LOL! Let us know what you come up with.

Feel free to make as many requests as you want. I don't promise to act on any of them, although I might. I'm still playing around with the software at the moment to see what I can do with it, and what I can't do with it.

Hopefully we can use this as the Xtranormal thread, rather than starting a new one. Needs a thread title change. . . .

For people interested in trying it out, you can either use their online MovieMaker, or download their Desktop software and use it offline. But you can't import a movie you've made from one to the other, either way. If you use the offline Desktop version, you can export your finished movie to a local file on your hard disc, and then upload it straight to YouTube. You can also import that "finished" movie file into Windows MovieMaker (at least, it worked for me on a Windows 7 machine) and edit it further, although I haven't done more than see if it is possible.

The movie below I made for free. It used up all 300 of my free-account "Xtranormal Points" and to make more I need to buy some points.

But lets see some more movies, guys. :)

This might seem dull, in that it uses the same set and the same characters as my previous movie. But it was mainly a test. And it was a success. Namely:
  • Once you have "paid for" a set and characters you can re-use them for free.
  • You can import into Windows Live MovieMaker the "finished movie" file that the Xtranormal Desktop software produces, and trim it, add captions etc.

:woohoo:

So, basically, anyone (with a modern-enough computer) can download the Desktop software, make a movie with a set and two characters, upload it to YouTube, then apparently make an unlimited number of other movies using the same set and characters, all for free. Good stuff.

But I will still buy some additional sets and characters for variety.

This will probably be my last video on this theme, at least for now. I'm still experimenting, and it is still beta software.

Isn't anybody else going to post an Xtranormal vid here?

I enjoyed that, Paul - especially at the end - TC looked spinny, sort of dazed and confused! Definitely a red tag by the Dwarf! :hysterical:

I'm still a working stiff but when I can make the time I'd love to do some of these too!
