Didn't he work backstage against the idea of an Australian inquiry which would allow a lot of people to feel more at ease to come forth and speak up?

He talked to the politicians on the phone or something. I believe and gave his own views. That is called freedom of speech.

I totaly disagree with his views but I will fight for his RIGHT to hold such views.

He was not forwarding the church agenda but I agree his own. As a free man he has the right to talk to anyone he wants and express his views as long he does not break any law.

Since the thrust of his effort is to minimize and even deny the major crimes of his supposedly former organization I'd tend to disagree with that. The only 'cure' for Scientology is public exposure and prosecution; Marty and Mike are doing their best to prevent that. They are *not* on my side.

He & Mike Rinder have specifically said they are not speaking out against COS - they want COS to survive - which is why they formed the Independent Scientologists group - they just want to blame everything rotten in the COS on David Miscavige. They absolutely refuse to recognize the crimes committed under LRH's watch when he was running the show. The actions of the Guardian's Office and the events that led to the criminal prosecutions in Operation Snow White were coordinated by LRH and Mary Sue - not David Miscavige. M & M wants you to forget about all that.

It's no different than Sammy Gravano & John Gotti, the Mafia leader. Blame him for everything. Sammy was the poor victim who was just doing what he was told to remain a good & faithful Mafiaso.

I was not disputing his right to talk to whomever he wishes (strawman again, etc.) I was pointing out the apparent duplicity, you know, him speaking up, but somehow working against the idea of an inquiry which would favor more exposure of the Church of Scientology.
