I've neglected posting for months -- here's a quick post, because this thread is awesome.

As you've seen, this a single, professional shoot that was edited into little bits. It's a 2 camera shoot, with the tired old bookcase and optional, post 1940s big houseplant. This is no laptop video. Notice how the bookshelf is slightly out of focus.

I haven't watched that many of them but I think it's a single camera. The zoom ins are just cropped videos done in a video editor. Since they're probably filmed in HD, zooming in wouldn't affect the resolution/quality in a YouTube upload.
It definitely looks like one video shoot chopped up into little morsels of insanity.

I am poorly familiarized with the nuances of "paid advertising" on YouTube. Is this 100% confirmation that someone is PAYING CASH to advertise Marty's videos?

If you (or anyone) knows the inside story of how these things work, it would be great to learn more details before making too many assumptions.

Wondering if it is literally "PAID"--or, whether (existing) "credits" or "offsets" (i.e. not cash) could be used by a client (e.g. COS) to acquire those advertising impressions, banners, hyperlinks, et al.

If someone is in fact paying for ad placement to promote Herr Rathbun's (Goebbels-like) vicious "BIG LIE" propaganda videos, that would be an astonishing revelation!

Short answer: Yes, absolutely. An ad on YouTube costs money.

They way most of this kind of advertising works is, if a person clicks on the ad, you get charged. (Pay-per-click.) The normal charge for a YouTube ad is .10 to .30 per click.

This is not something a person making videos in his garage normally does. This is something a business does.

It's two camera. Trust me, I'm a professional. ;)

Basing on that screenshot, the answer is yes, and more accurately, Marty's videos ARE the advertisement. In other words, if Google decides you're due for an ad, it may be one of Marty's videos that starts playing.

that would be an astonishing revelation!

Indeed. I humbly retract any previous skepticism I had about CSI's direct involvement in these...

In other words, somebody is paying to have Marty's videos played before the video one selected -- at least until the "Skip Ad" time is reached, at which point one can click that button and go on to the video one originally selected.

In addition there is of course the very small banner ad in the upper right hand corner of the screenshot.

:clapping::clapping::clapping:

My confidential informants inside the COS tell me that Marty's next BIG LIE video series will be shot on 70mm for an IMAX theatrical release!

Imagine sitting in the front row--looking up at at 53 x 72 foot screen--and seeing all those neurotic facial tics and gulping sounds magnified so much it's like a BT-laden volcano erupting!
The backyard bed sheet version is already more than I can deal with as it is.

I am in hysterics. OMG!

I'll never be able to say "white picket fence" again without seeing this image.
When I was kid I had a neighbor that owned a film projector. He'd hang up a white bed sheet in his backyard and his wife would invite the neighbor kids over to watch a movie. I think I'd be very traumatized today as kid seeing Maw-T appear on that bed sheet.

Oh no!

Now what happens?! You and cakemaker both start posting online dead agent videos against each other (with the same plant, desklamp and out-of-focus back wall?)

Not to flog a fine point, but the last one I saw had a switch from a locked-shot camera 1 to 2. This could be done live, with a two rackmount device.

:hysterical::hysterical::hysterical:

Judging by the dulled patina and craquelure, that projected film must be from Marty's Baroque Period.

Strangely, Marty's Baroque Period (rather than being properly placed within the 17th century) anachronistically ran up through just a few months ago.

That's when divine intervention ensued and suddenly Marty (inexplicably) started attacking all his friends, allies and sponsors--as though he didn't need them any more. Who knows, maybe he's now independently wealthy----because he sure doesn't seem to be in his Broke Period any longer.

(Jeez, that sure was a lot of tortured rhetorical wrangling for such a silly little pun, LOL)

There's different ways ads can be displayed on YouTube. Embedding the ad into the video you are playing is one of them.

Check "type of ad format" in this article.

So, let me see if I got this right?

The CoS, which has zero credibility, is running ads with Marty, who just destroyed any credibility he had with these videos...
What can go wrong with that? :hmm:

Is this all supposed to distract law enforcement from the crimes that Leah is about to expose?

Or distract congress and the IRS from investigating the CoS (Crimewave of Scientology) and pulling its tax exemption?

Here's a pink sheet for anyone from OSA following this thread:

"Word-Clear and Clay Demo RICO (The Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act) and it's relationship to the CoS, and how it can impact YOUR life.

In the previous video Rathbun says:

"Tony [Ortega] will run anything cause he got nothing to lose cause he's a nobody with a blog, OK? Scientology and nobody else is gonna waste their time suing a guy who can never make good on whatever damage he does in the first place."

A few thoughts...

1) While I believe that I have pretty good command of the English langauge I'm not a native-born spearker. There are a few times when I'm unsure as to the meaning of what is said. I'm not too familiar with expressions such as "can never make good on whatever damage he does". Is Rathbun saying that suing Ortega is pointless because he doesn't have the means to pay whatever a judge will order him to? If that's the case, how can Rathbun justify his theory that Ortega's main purpose in covering Scientology is making money? If Ortega is in such a dire financial state that suing him would be pointless, doesn't this mean that his reporting on Scientology is not profitable? And yet he persists in this endevour for so many years, not the kind of bahavior I'd expect from a greedy person.
2) Rathbun is forgetting what Source had to say about lawsuits:

The purpose of the suit is to harass and discourage rather than win.
The law can be used very easily to harass, and enough harassment on somebody who is simply on the thin edge anyway, well knowing that he is not authorized, will generally be sufficient to cause professional decease. If possible, of course, ruin him utterly.

Rathbun himself has admitted that this is the purpose of Scientology lawsuits. Whether or not Tony can pay any liabilities a judge will impose on him would not be a consideration for Scientology if they choose to sue him.
