Scientology security kills man with sword

Glorifying, celebrating, or praising the alleged swordsman, even in jest, is unbelievably counter-productive and, well, stupid.

Making a joke out of this is also unbelievably counter-productive and stupid.

This situation is not a joke. Someone is dead. All available evidence indicates the shooter killed him because he reasonably believed he, or others, were in danger of being killed or suffering grievous bodily harm.

It does Critics, Exes and Anons no good to come across as glorifying and celebrating violence. Or, at minimum, as insensitive assholes.
One final thought. A mentally ill Man died last night. He lashed-out at the Cult that took his money, and took him off of his Meds. That is the focus. But within 24 hours he has been objectified. Dehumanized by the cult, and dehumanized by those that would turn him into a cause.

He is a victim. And, perhaps a hero. He also needed help.

Shut up, Mom.

They're doing far more quality research than anyone here because you're all insipid melodramatic clods.

You didn't know him. Stop pretending you feel grief for "the mentally ill".

There are some fine essays out there explaining why "victim" has become synonymous with "hero" in modern days. They are not the same.

It's basically because of our soft PC culture. Because of dolts who automatically cry when billionaire Oprah Winfrey puts her ugly face on television and metaphorically wimpers "Why am I still a slave, America?"

Ok, I'm going to speculate that this is a staged event! An OSA OP!

You knew I would, didn't you?

Couple of things that makes me curious: Police had the info that the sword wielding man had 'some connection with CoS.. Long time ago..', but didn't know his identity.. Now, the dead man didn't tell 'em for obvious reasons. That bit of info came from the scilons... That was fast!

I don't think a scilon staffer would volunteer ANYTHING at all to the police unless ordered/cleared/drilled to. Ie: I'd expect a staffer who recognised the man to NOT tell the police that he did. But someone was talking right away.. A carefully 'metered' bit of data it seems...

Very odd that police are out this fast with a 'final' conclusion that the guards acted in self defence. Even odder, that the man was killed close to his car. So he 'approached' the guards about half a yard..

Uhm.. And a comment on those posts about professional use of guns. 'when you draw a weapon, use it to kill..etc..' - It's easy to take a step back out of range from a guy with swords. And pointing a gun at him while informing him that he'll be shot if he don't lay down the swords usually works!

It seems to me that the shooting was unneccesary...

And now it seems that a name is found: Mario Majorski.. And he was attending official CoS events as late as '05. So his 'connection' with CoS is hardly 'in the distant past' as one LAPD detective is so keen to tell us. And apparently he was an OSA 'volunteer', doing 'stuff' for them.

And Tommy Davis seemingly had a bad briefing. Telling us that Mario Majorsky 'apparantly' left the church 15 years ago... And Tommy don't know if Mario was a member of Anonymous.. Hmm.. Are we to believe that OSA is this inefficient, or do we conclude that OSA is holding back information?

So is this an OSA Operation?
Mind you.. Speculation! - Pure conjecture!

Majorsky could have been on yet another covert 'job' for OSA... Create an incident that will paint Anonymous, and the critics of CoS, as dangerous terrorists. Something that will gain public sympathy for the CoS.

And also, send a 'message' to Anonymous. "You will be shot!"..

If so, then Majorsky will have 'established' himself as an Anonymous in the past months! Using some nick or other on the Anon Message Bords..

This morsel of information will be 'discovered' by Police, when Majorskys computer is located and searched...

So, did this OP, if that's what it is, go wrong?

I actually don't think so. The killing makes headlines, and dead men don't talk!

I even think Majorsky could have known he was to be killed. We do know about other people who have been told to do an EOC (End of Cycle.. Means end of life, in scn codespeak). And CoS is on record for making people suicidal in more than a few instances. In short.. I don't find it intirely unbelievable that Majorsky would take a bullet for the team.

But I consider it more likely that OSA told him that the guards knew that he would come. So Majorsky thought he was to make a big frightening scene there. maybe take a bullet in the leg or something.

In this scenario I'd assume that the shooting guard was part of the OP. To make sure that Majorsky died... But not neccesarily.. Maybe the guards was supposed to be 'fooled' and the OP went wrong.

Too bloody unlikely! - Insane paranoia!
Ok, for those who think this elaborate and mad sceme is too bloody insane. Even for CoS. Read up on Operation Freakout and the 'Miss Bloodybutt' incident. As for taking a risk of injury or death, there was a scientologist who agreed to be, and indeed was, 'hit by a car', in an OP against Mayor Cezares of Clearwater.

:hattip:

I did. It was something I also considered.

It was surely taking too long to comply with the order to get one of those pesky Anons to cause a big enough ruckus where a justified shooting scenario could be played out. (If you can't get an actual Anon to play along maybe a pretend one will do the trick.) I'm sure you can imagine how nervous and desperate OSA becomes when a DM order is stale-dated.

Yes, it's pure speculation but it's not beyond the realms of possibility.

I have personal experience of the GO/OSA actually planning how to get an unsuspecting scn'ist physically assaulted by a bodyguard working for an anti-cult group in order to silence a critic of scn and have him deported.

With that said, I propose that we leave off further speculation and devote our attention to encouraging a serious and thorough investigation of this incident. That's the only way we're ever going to find out anything approaching the truth.

SchwimmelPuckel,

Now that would be not a footbullet, not a footnuke, but a footbigbang.

Apparently this guy had some serious psychological problems, for which he was prescribed drugs. Who took him off those drugs?
The guy spent all his money in the cult. How's that gonna affect anonymous?

I don't think they can spin this one to us.

Look at it from the other side:

You are a security guard. You are hired to protect. A guy enters the building wielding two samurai swords. What should you do?

I haven't read much of this thread. Been offline with computer trouble.

A couple of years back Mario Majorski joined a FZ Yahoo e-mail list. I exchanged a couple of e-mails with him and rapidly decided he was unhinged. For a year or so after this he sent me - and many others - huge rambling e-mails. I looked on it as spam, called it such, and deleted them unread after the first glance, but he wasn't trying to sell anything other than his crazy ideas.

If a sword-waving nut charges into the middle of a normal place of business with regular people about and they are now suddenly in mortal danger, I see nothing wrong in a security guard shooting him to stop him. Would it be better if the maniac maimed or killed some people first?

In the movies the good guy shoots the weapon out of the bad guy's hand and no-one is even scratched. But let's be real.

I'm just going on the scanty data that there was mortal danger to people there. If this isn't true, then my comments would be different.

Sure! I can see that the incident plays.. It sure looks like that's what happened.. And yes, I can see how the guard might shoot in the situation. Although I think he didn't have to if he'd kept his cool.

And.. Guy did'nt enter the building. Majorsky got about 2 feet away from his car! Then he was shot dead.

As for the 'speculative' OP being a FootBigBang.. LoL! - Yeah.. Read about the 'Miss Bloodybutt' OP. That OP went south because Linda Woolard didn't realize that Klemesrud called the police while she sloshed blood all over his bathroom. But the curious thing, for me at least, is that I can't figure just what the GO had in mind. Ie: What was supposed to happen if Klemesrud hadn't called the police? That OP seemed like a giant footbullet from the get go.. No sense to it at all!

I hear you! - And my 'speculation' is certainly aimed in that direction.

Random Tangential Thoughts:

1: The guy was a student at UCLA. That may have been the reason Moxon used him in the suit against Jolly West, as otherwise the cult would have no standing to bring such an action. So he may have just been a "stand in" with no real involvement other than signing the complaint.

2. Tommy Davis's tone re: this incident - no sorrow there. "Oh, it was that guy...." No, it's regretful, it's sad.........looks like he has the "quietly and without sorrow" thang down.......

3. It will be up to the family to decide if a wrongful death lawsuit is in order.

See post #126 on this thread. I don't know whether or not it's true but that's where it was mentioned as a quote from his cousin via cnn.
Oh, thanks for finding that!* I saw that CNN comment when some people over on Why We Protest were discussing it, but I'd put it out of my mind because I thought it was probably a prank comment.

*In case anyone's interested, here's post 126:

Just skimmed this thread, don't know if this was posted yet:

Our Cousin
He was our cousin who was mentally ill and believed he was an actual immortal. The church of Scientology of Scientology played into his paranoia while denying him the psychiatric medication that was keeping him stable. He had ran out of money and the church would not let him continue his training courses, only recently did he realize that he had been scammed and was so furious he threatened to get his revenge on those who lied to him. We tried to get him to take his medicine but he refused. He sounded very calm on the phone last week, and we figured he was doing better. We apologize for all the trouble this has caused everyone and our heart goes out to the guard involved in this unfortunate incident.

Thanks, Paul. I appreciate your letting us know about your experience with him.

What disgusts me:

A) Scientology sells you that you are an immortal being.
B) If you speak in public about this belief, everyone thinks you are mentally ill.
C) If you get revenge on who sold you (COS) in any form violent or through legal means, then COS gets to call you mentally ill.

Good vid, iax: Question: Were the Security Guards scn's? (Probably a stupid question, I'm sure they were, but still, they could've been hired..)

Interesting that the reporter acknowledges that the "Church" doesn't practice "religion, per se". I'd like to know where he got that information -- something from the station's store of information?

Yeah, also interesting how near the end, the reporter talks about Mario in present tense. (He is 48 yrs old..).

Also NEVER heard scn described as (by their OWN people) 'Guided Thought Therapy' :eyeroll:

More like Guided Brainwashing Therapy!! :grouch:

I don't think they really are but they can't be antagonistic either. When I was there there was a reg that was asking one of the guards once "when are you going to do your purif?" and he was like "ah, one of these days" or something like that. The guys I saw were there for a long time and had a pretty cozy relationship. And the guy I'm talking about was definitely ex lapd - he told me. Wouldn't be surprised if this was the guy who did it as he was there all the time. But that hasn't been released.

A Scientology center's guard kills an Oregon man
The ex-Florence resident's record includes probation, jail time
Tuesday, November 25, 2008
LORI TOBIAS
The Oregonian Staff

A man shot and killed Sunday in front of a Scientology building in Los Angeles was a Florence resident who was on probation for stalking a Lane County judge. Also, he recently had served time in a Florence jail for threatening a tow truck driver.

A security guard shot Mario Majorski, 48, after Majorski threatened guests and another security guard with samurai swords at the Scientology Celebrity Centre in Hollywood, Los Angeles police said.

Majorski, who had numerous addresses in Los Angeles County and Oregon in the past two decades, was convicted of stalking Lane County Circuit Judge Debra Vogt in June 2007 and sentenced to 24 months' probation in September 2007, said Alex Gardner, Lane County district attorney-elect.

The stalking incident grew out of a landlord-tenant dispute in which the judge ruled against Majorski, Gardner said. Majorski sent the court a threatening letter and later was caught trying to carry a sharpened railroad spike into the courthouse.

"At the time, Mr. Majorski was muttering something about having to take out a judge," Gardner said Monday. "In the context of his earlier threatening letter and outburst in court when he lost, that was interpreted as threatening and stalking behavior to the judge."

Majorski also was arrested Oct. 26 after he threatened a tow truck driver, Doug Bushwar, with an ax handle. Bushwar responded to a call of a vehicle out of gas. When he arrived, Majorski was clearly agitated and ordered Bushwar not to cross the street to his pickup.

"He picked up the hatchet (handle)," Bushwar said Monday. "He used some profanity and said, 'Go get my gas.' And then he goes, 'I told you, now,' and he was shaking the ax at me."

Majorski pleaded guilty Oct. 28 and was released from the Florence jail on Oct. 30. Three days later, police were called after Majorski interrupted a Mormon church service and refused to leave.

The incident is the second high-profile case involving Oregon and Scientology. In 1996, Jairus Chegero Godeka walked into the church's downtown Portland office and shot and wounded four people, including a pregnant receptionist. A police officer persuaded Godeka to surrender.

On Monday, Los Angeles Detective Wendi Berndt told The Associated Press that Majorski had been associated with the Church of Scientology and that security guards were familiar with him. Surveillance tape showed he arrived in a red convertible about noon at the Los Angeles center and approached the guard with a sword in each hand before he was shot.

In Florence, Majorski moved into a ranch-style house on Munsel Lake Road about eight months ago, said neighbor Morry Bernard.

The two exchanged greetings, but then Bernard began finding gifts on his front porch for his four daughters.

"I returned them to him," said Bernard, a single parent. "It came off as kind of perverse." The gifts included a Hannah Montana karaoke machine, stuffed animals and other toys.

Bernard said Majorski told him, " 'I didn't mean anything by it. I'm just trying to be cool.' " But Bernard's daughters and other neighborhood children were afraid of Majorski, Bernard said.

"He'd dance in his front yard wearing devil's horns and all kinds of strange things when the kids were getting on the bus for school. Last week, he came out with 30 or 40 plastic coat hangers all over his arms. I didn't feel threatened or intimidated, but apparently he has an evil streak."
