Re: The old days - Aboard the Apollo - 1973

I once met a couple of Australians on a train going to London on a day when the temperature was touching 32C (90F), and one of them told me she found the weather hot. When I told her I knew Australia gets a lot hotter, she said that unlike the UK almost everywhere in Australia in the major cities, where most Australians live, is air-conditioned; so Australians aren't constantly exposed to the elements in the way us Poms are. (Any chance we can get Sheila back for this thread?). There's a town in the interior of Australia which gets so hot that most of the living quarters are underground. People stick it because it's a big centre for opal mining. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coober_Pedy
Yeah that would be the soft Aussies. The rest of us have to work, play and endure the odd BBQ  in the searing heat.... Some of us have airconditioning to sleep by to wake up a little fresher for the day ahead. But there are also many who will not have it and prefer only fans. And a hot cuppa to go with it! It also depends what part of Oz you live in as not all of it gets overly hot on a regular basis. I believe in Tasmania in the summer, some folks have to have their fires going. I like a fire when it gets down to 27 Degrees C. :)

So much the worse. What is sad is that you have a whole campaign going, including posts, comments and blogs, and the entire thrust of your campaign is that all the tech and everything which Hubbard uttered is complete crap. Then you admit that your usage is ZERO and that you don't give a rat's ass about the correct usage of the tech. In other words, you have just done a "dead agent" job on yourself. Case closed, issue settled!!!!

PS: Starting 35 years ago, you did use Hubbard tech for 5 years but by your own admission you have done your best to banish all that tech from your mind. How someone who has not used a certain tech at all for 30 years and says," my usage is ZERO" can still claim the authority and credentials to criticize ALL THAT TECH as as being worthless, even though many on ESMB are still using it and claiming big wins on certain portions of it is beyond my comprehension!!! You simply are not qualified to judge all that tech, here at this time on ESMB!!

The people who are using it or have had it applied to them recently are the ones who are qualified to judge if that tech works or not!!

I think we all know you "are one'' ... nevertheless, this is an EX SCIENTOLOGIST MESSAGE BOARD so surely the expectation of some basic manners and decency (regarding cult speak) is not too much to ask.

Well, not really FBM, my agenda is truth above all else!! To me being truthful trumps everything. Beautiful women rank high on my agenda as well, maybe in 2nd place and being smart and knowledgeable also rank high, perhaps in 3rd place. There is no question that I was taken by her being an attractive woman and also being very intelligent and knowledgeable. However, two recent events where I interacted with her showed me that she was not being truthful. Perhaps in her own mind she still considers herself truthful but in my mind she was definitely not being truthful. Event #2 occurred yesterday and is represented by my series of exchanges with her on this thread.

Basically, she did not have a good grasp of Hubbard's non existence formula and was limiting its application to just starting a new post in an Org. Well, that formula should be used in every activity one newly undertakes. That was what it was designed for. I've used it that way ever since I learned it and it has paid big dividends for me, ditto for others who I'm currently friends with. I called her mistake in application to her attention and she rejected what I said.

At that moment, truth revealed its divine head to me. How could this woman, as beautiful and intelligent as she is, do critiques on a subject she has not used at all, ZERO percent, in her own words, for 30 years? The answer is that she is not qualified to critique the subject. Even though she had a major flaw in her thought process about the subject, when I corrected her, she refused to accept my correction. That reinforced my opinion that she was not qualified to critique Hubbard tech on ESMB. "Truth" trumped her attributes, it was a no brainer for me!!

What about Event #1. What was that all about? Well, before she and I undertook event #1, she had me promise not to reveal various specific details about the event. I did promise her that I would keep the details of Event #1 confidential. Again, there is truth! I keep my promises as best I can. I only agreed to keep silent on the details of event #1 but I could tell the general gist of what happened but I want to sit tight for now and let some time pass before I make a decision. We were good friends for 4 months and I'm tending to feel that complete silence on Event #1 is the best policy. There is a soft spot in my heart for my ex friend and there really is no need to relate Event #1. I have this compulsion to blab everything but in this case, I think I owe my ex friend the courtesy of remaining silent.

Lakey.

Nobody wants to know about "event # 1" ... or about your thoughts regarding Maria.

Stop obsessing, get a grip and leave the lady alone now.

Use your beloved tehk to control your weirdness or just grow up, you really have gone too far this time.

Dammit trouble, I was about to order an extra big bag of popcorn and settle down to see just how weird it was going to get, and then you come along and spoil it all.

I just think he's gone way too far ... Maria has been very tolerant and polite with him, she wasn't to know what he's like, she was just really unlucky landing on this thread.

She must feel very uncomfortable now, it's not right, I feel creeped out just reading that last post of Lakey's.

Trouble, you are so off the mark I barely know where to start to try and talk some sense into you. Maria checked out ESMB in late February and did not like any of the threads she read and was thinking of quitting ESMB until she stumbled on this thread. She loved it and she thought I was cool. She PMed me, we became friends from a distance. She was not unlucky and didn't just ended up landing here by mistake. She chose this thread as the base she wanted to operate from on ESMB.

As far as her quitting the thread, that was her choice. If Maria is uncomfortable with a situation, she leaves it, that seems to be her M.O. (Modus Operandi). She is a mature woman, extremely intelligent, and extremely knowledgeable. She is a woman of faith and has her faith to turn to so she is not alone. I was lucky to have her as a friend for 4 months, I have never had a friend quite like her and I will miss the friendship very much. It's her choice not mine but I respect her choice. The bottom line is that despite appearing to be very compatible back in March, it ends up that she and I are not compatible. We tend to come to loggerheads and yesterday was a perfect example of that.

Trouble, for what it is worth, I will never bring up our first disagreement and will no longer discuss yesterday's disagreements. I suggest that you PM her and let her know that you are concerned for her. I think that she would like that and would enjoy PMing with you.

With Maria, she is so intelligent, so knowledgeable and such a skilled writer, she really does not need the Apollo thread or me to help her get her message out. She is fully capable of doing that on her own as she has already shown with her own posts and her own blogs.

I don't usually post here because
It's tough to be ingnored on a thread for being old, ugly and stupid :bigcry:

A question Lakey: How can your mind switch so fast from love bombing and constant praising to Maria, from an attitude you talk about her in now, calling Maria either ''her'' or ''the woman''

Unprecedented control over considerations ???
Who is in command there (in your mind) Lakey ?????

My mind didn't switch so fast. Look, I still want to be friends but she broke it off. If you read one of the exchanges early in our debate yesterday, you will know why. She said that she does not try and make of go of things, doesn't set ground rules, that her decisions are her own and are made unilaterally and that she believes in doing whatever she wants to do at any given moment (regardless of what anyone else thinks). I questioned those concepts and she was not allowing for any flexibility or "wiggle room". Of course I could not agree to those terms for any activity, friendship, or anything else. Those terms are not acceptable to me. Well, I thought, we could still exchange posts and so I tried that and we came to loggerheads on the Non Existence formula. When I made what I thought were excellent points, her response was to tell me that she would never post again on this thread.

You know, in all honesty, those of you who miss her posts should start threads of your own and invite her to join you on your threads. Why vent against me? I welcomed her with open arms to a thread where I was the OP. I supported her and befriended her very strongly. After a successful run of about 4 months, she wasn't happy with me anymore and decided to move on. What is the famous Operatic aria from Verdi's Rigoletto? La donna e mobile (Womankind is fickle)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xCFEk6Y8TmM

With a strong willed, very intelligent woman, if she is not happy with someone or some place, the best thing which a mere man can do for her is to let her go her own way in dignity. That is what I am trying to do, respect her and let her leave a situation which she no longer enjoys. If you know of a better procedure, please let me know of it or better yet, start your own thread and provide a new place for her to post from which she is more comfortable with. Oft times, a woman will cool of and return, of course she is more than welcome to come back onto this thread but that is her choice, I have no say in that matter.

Try not hitting on women, and also being a dick.

Try being a human being and making some sense. Okay, no more comments from me on Maria leaving the thread. Vent against me all you want. I just don't give a sh_t. I did what I thought were the right things to do. There's no more to be said unless the scene changes. If I had the whole thing to live over again, I would do exactly the same things.

I full well realize lkwdblds does not read my posts.
I also swore to myself I'd never post on this thread again.

But, here goes for all the other readers . . . . . .

See, what lkwdbld is missing here is his own sense of integrity. He is showing a severe lack of personal integrity.

He made a promise with himself & now that Maria is no longer a friend he choses to see it was a promise he made to her ( & ignores all of the pact he made with HIMSELF ! )

.....

Year after year IN scientology we all dealt with this " I was upset so therefore I did ( such & such nasty shit ) "
from these "OT's" & "most ethical people on the planet"

Above is an example of BETRAYAL AFTER TRUST from someone, lkwdbld, he claims the Hubbard Ethics Conditions are something he still believes & applies in his life.
........

So. now under the guise of being truthful, is he going "do the right thing" ( per him [justification?]) & betray his promise to her to keep his mouth shut ?

( Would that mean he would also under the guise of truth tell ALL things he learned in confidence from ANY source ? )

I'm out of here. I could not let this post slide unanswered.............hopefully it was only yet another
" bottle of merlot "
blasting from lkwdbld !

This thread used to be more interesting when we had Ted, CO2, and others participating, and posting music and technology items. Since it's turned into the "Lakey and Maria" chat thread, I've had less interest in it. I come over every once in a while, and skip through for old times sake.

The best posters on ESMB have tired to post here & quickly got their fill of the 'host' & moved on to never return.

As has happened for the life of this thread, some unsuspecting new blood will show up, get drawn in close by host, then gutted & discarded - a mini version of whut ? LOL !

You make a good point! I was seriously thinking of quitting the thread in February but when Maria showed up, it gave the thread new life. With her gone, there isn't much going on here. CO2 and I both talked by phone just before Maria departed and we both decided that this thread has served it purpose, I currently have 4 people on ignore and I'm getting sick of the whole thing.

Maybe I'll just quit posting here. I think I'll quit for a week and then check back in, if the thread is dying, I'll just let it die. It has to end sometime and now is as good a time as any.

Lakey,

I wanna say I like you - the being you are behind all this LRH $cientology adopted behavior and thinking...

Probably the same for other guys here..otherwise they wouldn't care :confused2:

I didn't need any answer to my questions - I only wanted you to take a look at it.

Did it ever come to your mind, as you and I are obviously aging, to simply enjoy people's company in normal day to day stuff, despite whatever are their opinions and takes on whatever including $cientology. Their opinions belongs to them , despite you disagreee, they have right to think so and say so. While maturing as a being, we understand it and don't take offense in other's way of thinking.

One thing that $cientology seems to have done with you Lakey (an many of us), is to turn off an important switch in your mind..wich is the self-introspection switch. When it is turns on, we are able to look at our behavior, see and stop it when it is innapropriate, change it , and have humility to express sincere apologies when we offend people. It's human...we all do wrong on daily basis...but it's a good relief to simply be able to see it and admit it. It makes us stronger.

Your mom & dad may have taught you this simple ''way to hapiness'' no 2 step, to easily enjoy relationships with fellows.

No intend here to offend you, only to have you take a look at your true self....who knew and knows how to do things!
True friends are not only nice!

You do whatever you wish - it's your life though and I am no your mom, guru neither I did research.

Ciao
