The Little Thread Which Grew - the Apollo '73 to Everything But

Hey, what a compliment! Where I came from, before scientology, that was a compliment of the highest order.

I haven't written anything here that I haven't written elsewhere as late as 4 years ago. The articulation today might be different, but not by much. Different audience requires a different presentation.

The links, however, are new. It is in the acquisition of new data, new viewpoints, and real, live communication that I find my perspectives changing and expanding. It's all good.

Back on the thread when the subject of the '50s came up I though I would do a "My Story" to kinda of clarify how a pretty normal kid could get caught up in a flying saucer cult. But the thread moves along so damn fast that I just haven't gotten to it. What I am doing instead is trying to stay relevant. That's all. Just trying to stay relevant to the topics at hand.

Maybe someday I will get around to a "My Story" and a "My Philosophy." I can see that I am going to have to write it all up then post a little chunk at a time. I will probably post on the Apollo thread first as this is where the readership congregates, then I will move it to a personal thread. This maneuver is not unusual in the publishing industry. Why not here, too.

After you do "My Philosophy" perhaps you could follow it up with some Congresses.

"Survive" should be seen not as a word for itself but as a position on a continuum. The continuum would have things Endure and Wait near the bottom, Survive on a very biological level, Being Right on the ServFac level for a humanoid, and through various spiritual states as one goes up. Words like Fulfilment and Expansiveness and many others would all have their place on the scale.

Everything in the universe and beyond tends to pan ouot in scales. Even Time has higher and lower harmonics. Space and matter and of course energy too. Energy's higher harmonics are fairly easy to encounter in one's own life.

According to Professor Harold Hill, libertine men and scarlet women are attracted to Ragtime, a shameless music that will grab your son, your daughter in the arms of a jungle animal instinct massteria.

On August 13, 14, and 15 (Fri, Sat , Sun), the annual Sutter Creek ragtime Festival takes place. Sutter Creek is in the California Gold Country. There are always a slew of musicians playing at venues all over the town. They have youngsters (talented youngsters, that is) and oldsters and many in between.

http://www.suttercreekragtime.com/

The 16 year old boy that played ragtime at Dave and Aida's post Pasadena Freezone Convention, I first saw (and heard) in Sutter Creek. One of the guys, who graces Disneyland's Main St. Carnation Gardens comes every year. he is terrific. Janet Klein, whose work I've posted here usually comes. For three days, you can tap your feet, and really enjoy yourself.

My wife and I have been going for nearly a decade. There are cute little B & Bs. there are hotels and motels. The town is old (like 150 years old) and ever so charming. The music is ragtime.

For a long time I have been objecting to the dianetic principle of existence: Survive! I object because it is not the be-all, end-all stable datum for me and, apparently, many of my pc/clients. Survive! is a fine principle for a plant or animal body or organization. I assert that this kind of survival just motivates me only so far then it fails. At a very young age I looked at others working their butts off at a job they did not like, to buy a car, to get to the work they hated. Something about that just rubs me the wrong way.

There is another motivating force that is something else, not grounded in materialism. I have no word to describe it, perhaps, because no word can describe something so grounded in spirit. But it is easy for a spiritual being to discern. It comes to us as fantastic and even subtle moments of enlightenment. It is with us when we are on a right path, as Joseph Campbell would say, following one's bliss.

What is the other motivating force? It is spirit itself. It appears anywhere and everywhere. In sessions it has come to me as that sense that one's spiritual toilet has been flushed of ego, survival concerns, ill-will, and materialism. That flush brings about a genuine, persistent floating needle, an actual new realization about life, not just a reordering of priorities and perceptions (like a pretended "cog" to call off the process), and unmistakable good indicators, the type that attracts hap and spiritual teammates on similar paths.

From <http://montalk.net/matrix/157/spiritless-humans>:

Consequences of Lacking a Spirit

With the preceding in mind [text of article], consider what happens when someone has body, ego, and soul, but lacks spirit. First and foremost, their entire makeup would be the result of material influences like genetics and environment. The seat of their apparent intelligence would be the ego. And without the counterweight of spirit, their ego would reign king. Thus, in accordance with the function of ego, such people would be completely dedicated to material and social survival.

[Completely dedicated to "Survival!," as implied in DMSMH]

Notice that people with spirit who are awake to their spiritual impulses often make willful choices that serve no financial, social, or egotistic gains, that go against the expectations of Darwinian evolutionary principles, and that serve only spiritual ends. [Did hubbard or his church ever make a choice that served no financial, social, or egotistical gain? Probably not.] Such impulses are absent in spiritless people, thus they are truly optimized for survival in the physical world. Without conscience, empathy, or inner battle between ego and spirit holding them back, they can more quickly and easily succeed in their worldly environments regardless of the cost to others. [Here is a partial description of classic narcissism, very much hubbard.]

I found the hubbard books interesting enough even when I had my doubts. This is what got me started in my dianetic/scientology adventure -- reading, searching. The books, however, were not enough to hold me there. It was not enough to draw me into a church. I did not like churches.

Once I set foot in the door, the courses were not enough to captivate me. I had other plans for my life. I connected to the people, and not any people, but to specific ones. To this day, we are connected, by something intangible. Though we may not correspond in the physical world, we are nevertheless in a timeless correspondence of sorts.

What is that intangible yet very real something? It is spirit.

Thank you to all 3 of you for your useful philosophy.

I would say more, but at this time I'm strongly into the beingness of a student and not an "Instructor".

I currently have a set of "Instructors" perhaps even beyond an Ideal Scene
and I'm learning about entirely new UNIVERSES of thought and life.

Amazing things are going on, like pulling in the best possible mentor for my trading business. We made a deal to help each other, as he badly needs help in another area, a very basic one.

From a rather deep depression to flying at high altitude has been and continues to be one amazingly beautiful experience.
I'm proud to say that I used no drugs, just a stubborn theta persistence and basic guts.

There are five on this board who helped me. They know who they are.

ROGER, for you a Special Acknowledgment for your personal Help and Caring.
It was and is of value.

Lakey also needs to be acknowledged, as well as Carmelo for putting this
Super Fine Matrix of Wonderful Beings together.
I am honored to be a small part of such Spiritually Elite Group
(but not "Elitist").

We of course also have the Wonderful new arrival of "The MAGIC THETAN" who, I can personally attest, lives up to his name.
When I was bringing RogerB in from the airport last October, he mentioned Johnny Raff, seemingly out of the blue, but I'd already had him on my mind and was going to look him up again, so Roger really just tuned into my actual matrix and saw what was there.
Life is MAGIC when you tune up your vibration level to the higher frequencies!

I am also perceiving that more Special Beings will soon join us here.
I don't know who, but am certain they are on the way.

MORE TO COME.

Good on ya, Blue!

I've had another thought on my last post. The common denominator of the continuum scale is "that state in which I know my postulates will be working". This is at basic what every bloke is trying to attain - he wants to regain control over his own postulates.

All that's wrong with them, of course, is that he has too narrow an attention focus on them. All of his postulates are working just fine - they can't do anything alse - but since he only pays attention to the latest ones he thinks the others don't work.

It's like this Present Time thing that Hubbard wanted us to get into. It's a fine idea when people have their attention compulsively, or reactively, stuck in some other time, but as an overall state to attain Present Time is too limited. One needs to embrace ALL time and be able to be in any of it. As one embraces it all then Time itself disappears and we see it as just another dimansion of that which we call Space - which is in itself the result of a too-narrow focus.

Fun fun fun!

I would get a fine, considerate fellow such as yourself to deliver the courses while I came in to attract attention and put on a show with my talk. Then as you continue with the training, I would be counting the receipts and figuring out what to do with my money. Certainly a plane ticket out of town is one of my first purchases. If you stick around to completion I'll toss you a bone.

Congress schedule coming right up. Be ready.

Ka-ching!

I am sometimes amazed when I stop to look and see beings, including myself, separated from their actual experience. Beings have marvelous filter sets, attitude, mental, analytical, perceptual, emotional, fixed ideas, and so on, that are used to separate themselves from participating in actual experience.

You got that one right , Mate!

Of course, any Being below 0.0 on the Tone Scale is into the realm of dealing with substitutes, either of himself or of games and actuality, due to having gone below fighting (anger band) it all and failing out of it. And down below in the "thinkingness/symbolizingness" areas of existence it's all delusion . . . the Being is not dealing with actuality but instead his own mock-ups about it, his own representations about it. It's why you see some folks being so circuitous in their "rationale" and operating basis.

Hubbard, of course, did not do much on the subject of experience, actually.

This might surprise us, but he didn't.

He did a lot on, with, about the subject of "confront," and a lot on the subject of "create."

One can go to the processes of the 1950's and of 1960 (but not into the '60's), and you'll see "Alternate Confront" and "Alternate Create" as processes . . . but nothing really on experience.

Yet the interesting thing, as you point out, Ted, experience, the act and action of experiencing things, life, etc., is one of the very most basic on-going things we do!!! :duh:
Helloooo? Ya reckon Hubbard missed something here?

It is certainly one of our virtues and key powers and abilities.

It's way up there at our highest level of operation where spiritual Beings permeate and know by duplication. They operate at-one with, and experience things, action, others. They are not detached and "looking" . . . they are at one and experiencing.

And the ruination of a Being, and the beginnings of his development of case, occurs at the point when he is unwilling or unable to experience what is present with him.

Ted said:
Good processing allows a being to approximate its actual experience even if that's just a cleanup job after the fact. Ideally, actual experience would be processed as life goes by, in real time.

Right on here Mate! This is the level of living life as an on-going experience, as-is! Nothing hangs up, all is fully perceived, known to the level desired and it is done with all powers of volition and awareness intact!

Ted said:
There is a scale in 0-8 called Reality Spotting By E-meter. Note, participate and experience are at the top of the scale. The associated meter phenomena is F/N. It is one of my favorite scales.

Yes, as I wrote over on the "out-int" thread of Paul's, there is a level of processing and of living life, at action and considerations and postulates. These are high cause level abilities and attributes that put you in charge of existence. And they are levels of operation that afford high level and precise perception and full experience of what is going on.

Ted said:
P.S. If Hubbard was all wrong it would make my job of hanging him at every opportunity much easier. But he wasn't all wrong.

:D:D:D Poor old Ron . . . he was just right enough, often enough and near enough to the mark for us to buy his stuff as the real deal . . . and so it reeled us in.

Nonetheless, I'm glad he got me, as without him, God alone knows where I might have ended up :eyeroll::unsure:

Thank you Leon for the ack.

You should have been included in my titled list above, and I'll fix that.

Your wisdom about time and space is valuable and useful as a postulated condition to obtain.
If one is at Postulates on the Tone Scale then anything can and will occur.
I was actually able to discover on my own decades ago without help, but didn't maintain the tone needed for continuing use.
At that original time I had a number of minor miracles occur.

As you say, Fun, Fun, Fun !

I mentioned you to Johnny (T.M.T.) on the phone a short time ago, and he picked up on your space/beingness and said as soon as we straighten out our respective finances, he'd like us have lunch with you in New Zealand.
I seconded the motion.
It might be bad manners to invite ourselves, but I agreed to the idea !

I told Johnny beforehand that when he went on ESMB he would have an explosive impact, thus the "TMT" nick is quite suitable ! :omg:

I have been privileged to read a number of Chronicle chapters in advance, so can only warn all to tighten your seat belts.

Thanks, Ted. That is an interesting & thought provoking article. It is certainly true that "egalite", although having admirable characteristics as a basis for political organization, nonetheless is quite obviously untrue in general and no more clearly so than in matters of spirit.

Although, rather than view some people as being wholly devoid of "spirit" I think it is more apt to consider such individuals as being, for various reasons, excessively undeveloped as spirits. It may be that such might need to "grow into it" as might a comparative newborn, or effect some sort of rehabilitation as might one who has "shutdown" due to some trauma or consideration. Yet the presence of spirit may well exist in even the most "spiritless" but remain apparently unmanifest due to some undeveloped condition or other impedimenta.

I consider that this condition is one that the more effective forms of auditing (with no prejudice as to specific "brand" of practice) seem to be able upon occasion to redress. This is provided of course that such an individual is functioning at a level sufficient as to be open to the possibility of spiritual change.

Ted,

Consistently Rog, Carmelo, Lakey and often all y’all put up links and posts that, for me personally, are not only some of the best things I’ve read or seen but are also what I need to be readin' or seein' at that time.

However, Ted, you do the above presciently precise. :coolwink: Your link and post re: Spirit elegantly articulates “stuff” and “feelings” that have been lingering around me for over 20 years…stuff that I haven’t been able, nor particularly wanted, to articulate. I’ve discussed some of this “stuff” with my metaphysic/psychotherapist friend. Interestingly, he called me yesterday and said he’s been reading a book that has some good stuff along this line of inquiry that he’s gonna give me next week when we get together. I had just finished reading the full article of your Link.

I’m in a real conundrum here.

I jumped ahead in my “Readers Digest” treatments to respond with adequate context to some excellent stuff Fisherman and Lakey brought up over on the “LRH Thumbnail Sketch” thread. I intend to go back in the future and fill in the rest.

A while back, during a conversation with Carmelo, I touched on the fact that during all the time I was around El Ron that, although I felt “Space” around Hisself, I never perceived any “Juice”…no “Spark”…something was missing…I’m not talking about a nothingness, I mean “something” wasn’t there; “something” that, as far as I’m concerned, shoulda been there. I also touched on a few other thoughts re: Hisself which I intended to make the final Installment of my treatments…your post and Link are very much in concert with those thoughts.

Snipped . . . .

:DFace,:D

I never met the Old Man in real life, though did connect with him spiritually, back about a year ago, sharing a brief cognition and quick processing cycle with him (I pulled, blew his W/H's M/W/H's.)

From what you describe, and from what I've seen of him on films, etc., and from the known fact that he lived a monster lie . . . his phony PhD, lies about wives, war record, you name it . . . .

The obvious truth is that he was not willing to be duplicated nor fully experienced. Chronic liars have to operate that way. For if they were duplicated, fully experienced, they would be found out. No?

So their operating mechanism and stance has to be that of denying and blocking your perception and native ability (virtue) of duplication and perception, and that of having to superimpose as a constant out flow/emanation their falsehoods and lies.

This of course has a deadening effect on all who are subject to it. This because it is decidedly "anti-theta." It is a violation of our native attributes. They are constantly impressing, superimposing on us, "don't know, don't duplicate the truth (of me!)" There is no true 2-way flow or exchange with such Beings . . . only their one-way deadening outflow of superimposed untruth.

Look at the the times when you have been most in love, or the times when there was magic between Beings. :D Notice how there was a magic willingness and wanting to be duplicated, known and have an exchange of truth occur? :D

How does this fit your observation and experience of "Hisself"?

As a change of topic...

I just got off the phone with a fella from one of the Social Security offices. I was attempting to straighten out some information on record.

I asserted this knowing full well the truth of the situation; he asserted that looking at his computer screen. So I blew up on him. Told him his records were wrong and BTW, I hate the f'ing church of scientology. Gave him a bit of lowdown on how the church operates.

Then he comes clean. He had a good friend who died because she would not get proper medical care, insisted on auditing only. Her husband pleaded with her to get care, everyone pleaded with her to get proper care. She insisted otherwise.

We ended on a good note, in agreement that we hate the church of scientology.

Isn't ARC a wonderful thing?

I wouldn't call any advice which I give you "wisdom". Really, it is just "hatting" and even there, it is just my opinion of what, when and where you should post.

John, there are several things which make you unique amongst ex Scientologists. One area has more to do with logistics than anything to do with mental and spiritual technologies.

Most people, when they left Organized Scientology still had much contact with the subject. Often, they would find a group, some even created a group but they stayed in touch with other exes and marched forward to present time, having a Scientology base, knowing what was going on in the Church, in the field, on the various Chat and Discussion Boards, etc.

In your case, it just seems as if you left "cold turkey". You simply went off and did other things. When Blue Spirit finally brought you back into the fold of ex Scientologists, over 25 years had passed.

At the time you left, people loved to hear about OT wins, just look at the Scio magazines of the day and they were full of these OT type success stories. There was no internet but people sure liked to gather around and hear OT stories told by a real OT. You applied what was popular in the mid 80's to ESMB in 2010 and you created quite a stir.

THE NATURE OF WHY YOU STIRRED UP SO MUCH CONTROVERSY
A lot of people got out of the Church having lived a certain life style and held certain beliefs for a very long time. They were usually stripped of their money, and had enormous Freeloader Debts, even though it was they who had toiled for the church for pennies while the C of $ reaped the benefits of their labor. They were also stripped of their dignity and worth and most of them lost all their friends and family. I believe you lost your friends, so that area you were familiar with.

These people were damaged goods and ended up on the internet looking for answers. They found people whom they could relate to and slowly at first, they began to rebuild their lives. Part of their rehabilitation process was to realize that LRH was not a perfect man and had a lot of skeletons in his closet and that the promised levels of Clear and OT were, to a large degree, sales hype. No one seemed to actually have OT powers, at least the kinds which were touted in the old magazines. Slowly but surely, most of these exes start to rehabiltate and start jettisoning the concept of LRH as a Messiah or the concept that real OT abilities exist for all. They were starting to feel good about themselves again and their lives were starting to be repaired.

A BULL IN A CHINA SHOP Into this set of circumstances, you came in with the best of intentions, with exuberance, an outlandishly high tone level and with the intent of lifting these exes up to OT states which you yourself had experienced. Those of us who understand to some degree what you were doing, feel deep admiration for you. However, for someone just recovering from their Scientology experience and who is now just taking their first tentative steps towards regaining their confidence, their self esteem and their life, your message is not what they wanted to hear. Your message is late, you are late to the party, 27 years too late!

It is like someone showing up at the Betty Ford Clinic, where people are struggling to recover from alcoholism and telling the group there that Bev Mo or some liquor outlet is running a huge sale on fine wines from France and beers from Germany. People would have once jumped with glee to recieve such news but in 2010 at the Betty Ford Clinic, they would throw you out on your ear (or more likely on your ass).

SUMMARY I guess you could call this wisdom, I call it hatting but then the contents of a hat pack can be said to contain wisdom. Anyway, it is not rocket science, it is easy to see what went wrong in your debut but as several astute people have pointed out, you ran a process on a group of people, the process bit, the Tone Am went crazy, TA is beefing up and blowing down all over the place. Hopefully, if the process is continued, your original approach of getting your message out and inspiring all these people could still be attained.

As my final closing remark I am going to state some real wisom, this one is from LRH and is one of my favorites of his where I believe he was spot on. "When the unusual occurs, do the usual to handle it."
Lakey

:happydance:Thanks for th Hatting. Love John

It may interest you to know, John, that there are several interesting "coincidences" marking this & later works of Heinlein with the subject of scientology. One such: in one of Heinlein's late novels he equates the character of "Jubal T. Harshaw" with another character of his named "Lafe R. Hubert".

Additionally, Heinlein admitted to having been audited by Hubbard and the time in which he was writing "Stranger ..." is one that has been proposed as the period in which Heinlein received this auditing. This latter is uncertain, however certain stylistic clues in the novel & its known history of writing suggest the author altered his original intention significantly over the lengthy period in which the novel was written.

As usual, Carmelo, your uncommon common sense makes sense.

Thanks, Rog…what you say is very sensible and well thought, as is what MAB and Ted have said.

I’m gonna throw some “of the wall” stuff up “on the wall”. 1, 2, 3….etc.

I do not claim to have any special reality or insight …quite the contrary…the one thing I am certain about is, in the grand scheme of things, how little I am certain of. Nothing that follows is intended as “personal” to or about any of y’all, so please don’t personalize anything I say. I am, however, telling some fairly “personal” stuff so please remember; I did not come here to lecture and pontificate…I’m here to dialogue and learn.

I’ve re-read the following several times and, after several hours of contemplation, have decided to “let ‘er buck!”

1. I do not doubt that others here are truthful and correct that they have had interaction with El Ron post ’86.

2. I had my own “perceptions” and “stuff” re: El Ron pre and post ’86 which, over time, have resulted in my own personal “take”.

3. I have permanently resolved nothing per se and this “take” is why I’m “agnostic”, one way or the other, re: El Ron “The Great Being” or Hisself’s current activities, “wellbeing” and “whereabouts”.

4. I’ve already commented regarding some of my comments to Carmelo.

5. I also commented to Carmelo that, in my view, El Ron got caught-up in some real nasty “shit” with some real nasty “folks” and “stuff’ and was, off and on, a “dupe”…a willing puppet if you will.

6. Some “literally”, and a lot “figuratively”, I find Mystic’s “Tulpa” take to have some merit.

7. I saw El Ron exhibit wide, discordant variances of “persona” and beingness. It was real spooky…the “energy” I perceived at times from Hisself “felt” to me as though it was not emanating from Hisself but via Hisself and it wasn't nice "stuff" at all...the "intent" and content was, for want of a better term, gravenly nauseating and perverse.

8. For anyone in “theta comm” or whatever comm with El Ron, I wouldn’t trust an f’n thing ya “hear”. Panda posted a brilliant observation over on the “Thumbnail Sketch thread:

“One thing that has always interested me about Hubbard is how he managed to appear to be whatever people thought he was.

He was many things to many people. Apparently, he still is.

I think he reflected as much as he projected.”

9. I think that, in the end, whatever “being” there was there “bought it”, is a gonner…aint comin’ back here no more and all that’s left of Hisself are the “vestiges” or strings that were attached to the puppet.

I know that all sounds harsh. I know that all sounds crazy. I know it doesn’t sound very “accepting” of Hisself. Remember, I’ve got brain damage so consider the source. I may be one of those “lesser beings” that isn’t ready for the “Spiritual Big Leagues”.

This isn’t all of my “take” but I’ve already been more blunt here than I ever thought I’d be on an open board and I think I’d best let this sit on the wall for now.

I have nothing wrong with giving El Ron credit where credit is due. Problem is, I don’t really know whom is due what credit for which or which and there’s sure enough stink around Hisself’s shit that I’m not given out any, “Thank you for telling me that El Ron…you’re needle is floating.”

Having said all that, I still don’t regret my time in Scn, the SO or with El Ron. I never wished Hisself ill…only he knew, truly, what he wished for Us…we already know plenty about what El Ron wished for Hisself.

R

Roger that is well written and a sensible keen observation.

It is exactly the observation I arrived at with my personal experience with the
"Mini-LRH" I experienced in the field, by the name of Ken (NOT Urquhart).

It is interesting to listen to or read (both forms were available) Dennis Stephens' talk about Hubbard, who was a key researcher with LRH speaking of him shortly before Dennis died in the 1990's.

What he said hit me as a hard truth when he said:
"Hubbard was a confronter not an experiencer." (or words of the same meaning)

When FACED with the unusual, do the usual!

I heard this a LOT on staff. I don't remember the exact quote and I ended up just throwing my full set of OEC in the recycling bin... but it was "DO THE USUAL"...

Wasn't it: "When in doubt, do the usual."???

As best as I can remember, it is more like the following:

WHEN FACED WITH THE UNUSUAL, DO THE USUAL!

Of course, the intent as someone mentioned here a few posts back is to NOT develop an unususal handling to deal with some unusual situation which arises. Pick a proven handling which is known to be workable

:happydance: I want to say how proud I am of how much you have accomplished is so short a time ("As we know time to be" as our mutual alien friend world say.)

Also, for the rest of you reading this, and especially Roger,BLUE SPIRIT did do his best to hat me on what I would encounter on this site, but there is noting like hitting the wall to get the real picture. Thanks all of you for your ongoing hatting. Love John
