Well, My Lovely, I can tell you one of my very first things on the agenda is some of those magnificent green tipped NZ muscles! I am told by my Kiwi organic farmer that when courting his wife many moons ago he used to barbeque them on the beach.

I'll be trying them in all the ways you Kiwis do 'em.

OMG how did I miss that. My only excuse is I was in a hurry.

@RogerB - you did mean mussels, the seafood, not beautiful bulky rugby players with green muscles?

p.s. I am not sure if we have rugby players with green muscles but will investigate further. I will spend some evenings hanging around rugby fields with my camera.

A properly conducted exiling perhaps? Throw in some well done pomp and ceremony (the English like that sort of thing) and banish him to another part of the internet?

I can help with the costumes for the ceremony. Does anyone have a half-decent castle we can use?

A moat? That will do. Near enough. With a bit of cardboard painted up like a castle we will have a (shoddy) venue for banishing hat-dropping people like @strativarius

On that day @PirateAndBum was inundated with registrations on his new message board. All of the registratees (is that a word?) muttered stuff about being banished from ESMB not because it was closing but because their speiling sucked, their gramma was gross and other vagaries.

No need to worry about that, I haven't got the faintest idea what the KTL course was all about since I was long gone before that appeared in the (more ways to extract money from innocent sheeple) list of courses.

I will try and keep a lid on my pedanticism (is that a word? If not I've just invented one - get over it) on the new board although I am continually adding to my ever-growing list of bloopers, e.g: "Twelve years of Obama and we survived it and are going to undue everything he did." (freethinker).

Actually, in the interests of pendanticism <=see what I did there?), it's green LIPPED mussels. They are also processed for alternative anti arthritic supplements. Quite an industry for NZ.

We used to dig them up off the rocks at the beach as kids and boil them in a pot of seawater over a fire. Loved them.

They were all attached by a string or intertwined beard. Grab one end and rip up a handful of them.

I'm led to believe that all around the Auckland, the rock oysters and mussels have been stripped out by a certain couple of ethnic immigrant groups who have no regard for the conservation/sustainability ethos. Sad. Nothing left....

I don't know the current state of the Auckland Harbours seafood populations. I do however know some folk involved in marine issues up that way so will have a conversation next time I see them. I do know that the Manukau Harbour has had significant conservation work done in the past decade or so (riparian plantings, etc.) and that the bird-life was recovering nicely as was some of the shellfish. Not sure of current scene though.

Down this way there are strict controls on seafood/fishing quotas and they are policed (this is based on national policy). I think we have some of the tightest laws in the world to protect our fish/shellfish. It is not perfect but there is a good effort being made to protect the various species.

With regards to "ethnic immigrant groups" - who are you referring to? I am interested.

I was doing about ten things all at once, and while getting installed on the Redux . . . I was battling with the decision of what avatar to use :hattip:

and collided with an old one I had used here, but felt, maybe it is a little presumptuous . . .

When first used years ago it sparked some "twitterpations" among certain ladies they claimed :clap2:
