Wow. They sure made an idiot out of their attorney. But mostly, apart from the obvious lies, how low to treat a young lady with a mental illness like that - especially when your organisation caused the misery in the first place. Can't wait till what goes around comes around. Thank you to all the brave people that spoke up on this poor girl's behalf, and the ABC for having the balls to run with it. You did good.

Yeow, that lawyer! What a loser. He looked as bad as she did! They both needed the drool wiped off their mouth, lol! And he obviously had been lied to by OSA. Caught out nicely by Steve.

The shots in this segment graphically show the results of Scientology! I am so, so glad that Steve went to Taiwan to get this story.

The CoS response of getting her to sign that statement changed the jist of the story. Not necessarily in a bad way. It just emphasized how low the CoS will go. And got some more response from her family, which was great. They had to cut both interviews with me and with Gottabrain to fit in the families response but that is OK. There is lots of footage for a follow-up if they decide to do one.

Zhent has recorded the segment. It will be on You tube tomorrow.

Continued Aussie Awesomeness. Can hardly wait to see the video!

This is a quote from the transcript of the show at Tony O's blog.

http://tonyortega.org/2013/02/25/an...is-at-usc-film-event-tuesday-night/#more-4182

Stuart Gibson, Church of Scientology Lawyer: Well I don’t know, you’d have to take that up with her. The fact is she was in a sick bay. There is no isolation and there’s never been isolation and to use that term is a derogatory term and it was nothing of the case.

Reporter Cannane: If isolation is a derogatory term why is it that L Ron Hubbard said you need to put people in isolation when they have a psychotic break?

Gibson: No, that’s not true.

Cannane: I’ve got the statement. It is true, he says anyone who has a psychotic break needs to be placed in isolation.

Gibson: No, we categorically deny that.

LOL!

Scientology = Lying Liars that Lie.

COS accused of holding a young Taiwanese girl who had a mental breakdown.

Great story. Scientology can run, but they can't hide. Family interviewed in Taiwan about how their daughter was used and manipulated, and even taken by scientologists to a notary to have documents signed requesting the media story be withdrawn. Blatant manipulation of a mentally disabled victim. Video of the lady victim was so sad.

I loved the Scientology lawyer who when shown the 'scriptures' prescribing isolation for psychotic victims, flat out denied that Hubbard ever said it. Wow that guy looked so shifty.

I hope that story gets good airtime in Taiwan as well. If she hadn't escaped through a window breaking her hand on the broken glass, there could have been another Lisa McPherson tragedy. But this lady has had her life ruined by a so called religion applying its standard harming abusive practices.

"EMMA ALBERICI, PRESENTER: The Church of Scientology in Sydney has been accused of holding a young Taiwanese woman against her will after she suffered a mental breakdown.

Alice Wu was hospitalised last March after a serious cut to her hand caused by punching a window at Scientology's Sydney headquarters.

Alice Wu's family claims she hurt herself trying to escape. She eventually returned to Taiwan.

The Church of Scientology denies allegations that she was held captive or forced to do anything against her will.

The case is said to highlight Scientology's controversial beliefs around psychiatry.

Steve Cannane has this exclusive report for Lateline."

This is worse than you think. What these bastards did to this mentally ill girl-- after they found out that ABC had interviewed the family, is beyond despicable.

I rarely get THIS PISSED. It shows how evil and creepy Scn actually is.

Yep . . . *that* Stuart Gibson. Looks like he needs to be brought up to speed about his current client. He could, of course, ask another of his clients - Nicole Kidman - for her opinion. Either way, this spokeshole needs some inoculation. Quick.

EDIT: It just struck me . . . this could actually turn out to be a classic footbullet. Scientology has just made a leading celebrities' lawyer make a total dick of himself, in public. Mr Gibson, I venture, will be far from pleased when he finds out. Also, if I was a Scientologist in Australia, I might ask how come there's no money for Clearing the planet, but heaps to pay a lawyer to lie?

<sigh> Or maybe they've already been regged for the coming "onslaught" as the desperate SPs fight the hardest when victory over Xenu draws ever closer.

That lawyer looked like a deer in the headlights, denying categorically that "isolation" occurs. Oh geez ... it looked so bad. Well good!
That poor girl, being marched in to sign a statement, obviously not one she had written, if indeed she is in any shape to write one at all - after scientology was informed of the show. Gross! :grouch:

Thankyou Steve Cannane and ABC.

Free - I LOVE your new avatar ! Sorry off-thread.

Can someone link the program so the rest of us outside Aus can see this?

How many more are going to have to suffer, have their minds broken and damaged, how many more families will be torn apart and ruined by this so-called 'church', before the governments wake up and put the shackles on this insidious gang of charlatans, liars, and opportunistic vampires? :grouch:

Poor girl :bigcry: Another sad and frightening episode added to an increasingly long and heartbreaking list of immoral depraved cult activity.

That frikken lying bastard of a lawyer, so much slime oozed off him I had to go take a shower. Had the same feeling when I saw my first video of Moxen and Helena C., all icky and hair-stand-on-endy :nervous:

Why do you think the investigators were looking at this in terms of people trafficking or breaches of the migration act and not straight up unlawful imprisonment and kidnapping??

What an abomination. The Scientologists' attorney cannot but have known about his clients' Lisa Clause. He lied.

d. The Scientology religion teaches that the spirit can be saved and that the spirit alone may save or heal the body, and the Introspection Rundown is intended to save the spirit. I understand that the Introspection Rundown is an intensive, rigorous Religious Service that includes being isolated from all sources of potential spiritual upset, including but not limited to family members, friends or others with whom I might normally interact. As part of the Introspection Rundown, I specifically consent to Church members being with me 24 hours a day at the direction of my Case Supervisor, in accordance with the tenets and custom of the Scientology religion. The Case Supervisor will determine the time period in which I will remain isolated, according to the beliefs and practices of the Scientology religion. I further specifically acknowledge that the duration of any such isolation is uncertain, determined only by my spiritual condition, but that such duration will be completely at the discretion of the Case Supervisor. I also specifically consent to the presence of Church members around the clock for whatever length of time is necessary to perform the Introspection Rundown's processes and to achieve the spiritual results of the Introspection Rundown. I understand, acknowledge and agree that the Introspection Rundown addresses only the individual's spiritual needs and I freely consent, without reservation, and without condition or limitation, to Church members conducting the Introspection Rundown, and that I accept and assume all known and unknown risks of injury, loss, or damage resulting from my decision to participate in the Introspection Rundown and specifically absolve all persons and entities from all liabilities of any kind, without limitation, associated with my participation or their participation in my Introspection Rundown.

It was a great segment and the lawyer was dodging bullets, and looking dodgey, but I think cult caught most of the foot bullets  http://www.abc.net.au/lateline/conte...3/s3698162.htm

I'm sad and distressed for the young woman, Alice Wu, her whole life ruined and her family are there to pick up the pieces.

Ashame about the AFP and not finding anything to convict or further to investigate on this one. Maybe they're not looking in the right places or asking the right questions.

Thanks to all involved.

I doubt that this is the end of this tragedy as far as Co$ goes.

I expect they'll pay money to make this "go away" at some stage, but only after they lose a sizeable chunk of their Taiwanese "market" because of it.

And I dare say Mei Tzu Lee is on the RPF somewhere already, along with one or more other "whos" who have been named as responsible for this "flap."

And the info I've been getting is that 75 - 80% of CLO ANZO and almost that number of AOSH ANZO crew are Taiwanese. Once this story gets circulated wider, you can expect that source of slave labour for the cult to dwindle.

Thanks to Kooka, Gotta, Cherished and everyone else who all worked on helping Alice here in Oz and who all helped Steve with his awesome story on yet another despicable display of callous torture of innocents by this cult.

Some day there'll be a reckoning for this behaviour, OSA - you may be able to lessen it by leaving now and bringing dox.

Otherwise, I hope you continue to burn in your ever-dwindling Hell at Dundas.

The link below provides the story. It's chilling, but exposed.

"The Church of Scientology denies allegations that she was held captive...........".

Bull shit. She escaped.

Mojo

I hope they extradite the head of the Australian branch of scientology to Taiwan. I'd really like to see what sort of sentence they'd receive under Taiwanese law. I don't know how women are regarded in Taiwan, but I hope that she prosecutes them in Taiwan and Australia. Perhaps a vain hope, but none the less, I hope they face more consequences for their abuse.

Re: Lisa McPherson...Taiwan style....the church is at it again...

Thank you for posting about this. Tony Ortega wrote about it this morning, with the video. It made me sick to see what happened, especially at the end.

Anne Archer's having a cocktail party tonight in LA for her Scientology front group, Artists for Human Rights, and we heard a wild rumor that one guest might be...her son, Tommy Davis? ALSO: Breaking news from Australia, where Lateline's Steve Cannane just aired a story about Scientology's treatment of a mentally ill young woman that will give you Lisa McPherson flashbacks. We have the show's script.

How many others have endured this terrible practice? This is why we protest....

Aren't there restraining orders and conservatorships in Taiwan? Those relatives need to get control of the situation to keep the Scientologists away from that girl while she is still in such a fragile state.
