Thanks so much Face!
Great post Lakey.
I, personally, wouldn’t say that Institutionalized Scn wouldn’t exist today without Yvonne’s CC, but it certainly would be smaller and poorer financially. Same is true for the Walter’s, Samuel’s, Corydon's, Spickler’s, Mary Sue’s, et al.
Yvonne had a Great Heart—a Presence—that cast a Brilliant and Special Light. Yvonne didn’t get that Light from Scn or El Ron…she was born with the Light. Yvonne Loved Artists; Yvonne Loved People; Yvonne Loved Life; Yvonne Loved.
Yvonne sought naught to keep you from going to Flag because she thought ill of you; she sought to keep you from going to Flag because she Loved you and truly tried to watch out for you. Yvonne sought only to "tool the system” to protect you.
On ESMB you have given Yvonne great Honor—Honor that she well deserves and Honor that is befitting the Love—I am certain—she held for you.
Face
Face, you make some terrific points! First, about Scn's existence today, ... it would most likely still exist today had CC not come into existence and yes, it would be much smaller and not nearly as wealthy as it is now. In the turmoil after the 2nd Mission Holders' conference and then the huge furor when David Mayo left, it would have been more difficult for the smaller, poorer C of S to defeat Mayo in court and cause the disbanding of the AAC.
If Mayo's AAC would have continued in existence, growing rapidly and opening branches worlwide, it is interesting to speculate what might have occurred. A pre internet gigantic breakaway group, led by David Mayo, against a smaller and poorer C of S devoid of its Celebrites, may have won out against C of S and put them out of business. Even with LRH still alive (just barely), the AAC was making a huge dent in C of S's presence. Only C of S's large fund of money enabled them to harass the AAC and ultimately win a court verdict against them. Without that legal victory, the AAC, with high ARC, much lower and realistic prices, and much better tech would have won out over C of S in an open marketplace in the 1983 - 1984 period. Of course, this is just my opinioin, no one can ever know.
On you second area, Face, what you say about Yvonne is all correct! I saw the woman daily for 3 years, heard her speak hundreds of times and had dozens of one on one conversations and written exchanges with her.
The possibility that she did not want me to go to Flag because she loved me personally and was trying to watch out for me seems possible but unlikely to me. It is certainly an astute observation, something which had never crossed my mind. Again, no one can know for sure.
She delayed my arriving at Flag for a full month. Flag wanted me urgently to be the Treasury person in the LRH Household unit. Due to the one month delay, Flag filled that position with someone else. I used to think, "Wow, if Yvonne had never interfered, I would have been working closely with LRH." I blamed Yvonne for derailing my Sea Org career for the 4th time. NOW, WITH THE BENEFIT OF HINDSIGHT, KNOWING ALL THAT I LEARNED FROM BEING ON ESMB, I SEE THAT BEING IN THE LRH HOUSEHOLD UNIT PROBABLY WOULD HAVE BEEN EVEN WORSE FOR ME THAN GOING INTO THE FLAG BUREAUX!
LRH probably would have ripped me apart and then just thrown me under the bus. Still, I would now be one of the insiders who had worked closely with LRH and I would have all these juicy anecdotes to tell about him.
With Yvonne, my opinion is that LRH and the 3rd dynamic came first. Individuals were important to her and she loved everyone but it seemed certain that she put the welfare of the group ahead of any particular individual. As Programs Chief for CCLA, I had full access to all of CCLA's files and I specifically read what Yvonne was saying about me.
She never trashed me but just made factual comments that I lacked maturity and had difficulty in duplicating and following orders. She suggested that I tended to interpret policy a bit and add my own slant to things. She always closed saying that she did not think that I was ready yet to assume an upper level management position. Of course, there was truth in what she said.
Yes, Face, Yvonne was not an ordinary person. Your paragraph above which I highlighted in blue is extremely accurate and true. I have never been in the presence of anyone as charismatic as her. She had a unique ability that if she gave someone a compliment, they would be floating on "Cloud 9" for days.
Though she blocked me from being promoted 4 times, it never really mattered to me in the way I viewed her. I knew that I was in the presence of a truly great Being.
As Beings go, she was way above my "pay grade". She thought big and went after big goals. She believed that she could cause things and routinely, what she intended came to pass.
As regards honoring Yvonne, my original goal was to just tell my personal story but when I started talking about Yvonne, I felt compelled to honor her. IT IS SO IRONIC!! Of all the people who knew Yvonne and worked with her, it ends up that her Director Of Disbursement, who she blocked fom 4 promotions, is the one who gives her the HONOR that she so richly deserves.
BTW, Candy was there with her the first day they opened their doors and one of my biggest rewards for bestowing honor upon Yvonne has been the honor of becomming good friends with Candy and receiving sessions from her. Yvonne and Candy, two wonderful and powerful Beings who worked together to build Celebrity Centre, and I was fortunate enough to know them both!! How Ironic!! In the end, things work out for the best......
