Yes that's true. I hope that Karen decides to come back at some point, as she's been very good at exposing the cults abuse, and she's been through more of it than most. I really wish her well.

I have a little silly story that might give some clue how Scientologists end up in the position where they ALLOW DM to abuse them.

At one time a feature film I co-wrote was just released in theaters and some Scn Celebs invited me to meet DM backstage after one of their performances. I was introduced as as a movie writer. It is the first and last time I ever met him.

Miscavige invited me to come out to Gold/Int where I was to work with them. At that time they trying to secure the services of non-SO writers/directors for their film/media enterprises.

I wasn't anxious to "report" to a Sea Org installation, having been in the Sea Org many years before, but like anyone that asks for my help, I kept my mind and heart open. I said something like: "Sure, if there is something I can do, I'd be happy to try and help."

Without a moments hesitation he indignantly barked back:

"It's not that you can help us--WE CAN HELP YOU!!​

It caught me off guard because it's not the kind of response you expect when someone has asked for your help. It kind of stayed with me as a very odd moment.

I never followed up on his offer or inquired about it again. Even when I was out of work as a writer. lol.

But years later, when I had left Scientology, I began to understand the mechanism of introversion and control that COB runs on his juniors and parishioners.

I think the first technique is always to introvert and overwhelm. And to reverse the hell out of everything so that an offer to help becomes a plea for help--which he alone can grant at his whim.

Even something as seemingly innocent as a writer saying they would be happy to try and help. He said that he can help me. Hmmmm. It makes you wonder at that moment, what kind of help you need. You start looking inward for something wrong.

Even the willingness to offer work and help is something that is used against you to manipulate.

That conversation was only 15 seconds. Imagine being subjected to that 24 hours a day for years.

No wonder Sea Org victims passively accept their grim fate of being terrorized and beaten. They have committed the unpardonable sin of offering to selflessly "help" for one billion years.

I come from a draconian SEA Org background and then "church" background

Here's my suggestion and it's only a suggestion. Since Karen has finished her work on this thread and no longer wishes to continue, why don't we retire it if it's just going to become something else (which is common for threads).

There's certainly enough awfulness about Miscavige for an authority to take note and if DM does other horribleness to qualify, it can either be opened again or those things would surely be worthy of their own thread and would hopefully be national news.

I also agree with the above 100% I will even go so far as to say that I have pm'd Veda two times since I have been on this board (a little over a year) and one time he said nothing back to me and the second time he reluctantly gave me information that I was seeking but nicely admonished me that he preferred all communication to be out in the open on the board.

Veda is not, in my experience, a "back channel" kinda guy. I also do not see him as attacking. I can, however, see how another might see it that way but only because the area is "highly charged", if you will. It is very clear to me that attacking Karen was never Veda's intention in the slightest.

I have every sympathy with someone trying to find their feet and balance after leaving scientology, but as we know, questioning and disagreement is often seen as "attack" when it isn't. I think it takes time and exposure to many different opinions until we find our own comfort level and it is a totally individual thing.

You however have been under attack and I admire your ability to keep on posting the truth about Hubbard despite it. Sometimes I wondered if you were doing it too often on this thread, but who is to be the judge of that? Not me. This whole concept of an "orchestrated hate campaign" stinks to high heaven and like Synthia, I can confirm you are not a 'back channel kind of guy' after many years here.

Let's all keep on exposing the abuses in our own ways, every bit helps.

What I hope to do is copy the relevant posts of the actual abuses into the WIKI so they are more accessible and that will happen when Emma has the time to do the work involved, she said probably after Xmas. That's fine....meantime I see no problem with the thread continuing?

Thanks to Karen for all her work here and elsewhere, which contributes to the destruction of those parts of scientology she wants to destroy. I hope she comes back soon. If she does, and leaves hubbard completely out of her attacks on those parts of scientology she wants to destroy, I hope others keeps asking "Where is Hubbard in all this?"......whether or not Karen chooses to respond to the question or ignore it.

Thanks to Veda. I agree with FTS and Synthia. Veda has been under attack for a long time on ESMB. He is very thorough in his "mission" or whatever he calls it against the scientology cult. They are so bad, it needs to be thorough. And Veda is fearless in asking the questions that need to be asked.
