If Scientology Inc. behaved humanely, even half way decently ~~ there would be nothing to say about them. There would be no threads like this. There would be nothing to write about on this message board, there would be no scandalous reports by Tony Ortega in Village Voice, there would be no Ex-Scientology Message Board, there would be no Ex-Scientology-Kids Message board, and blogs like Marty's would not exist.
But you could never get Scientology Inc to realize that they MAKE the news with their internal abuse, their sadism, their RPF (gulag) and RPF's RPF, their toxic Disconnection policy, their sub-human treatment of human beings, their refusal to give refunds and the sheer insanity of their "seances," internal brutality, Fair Game, draconian punishments. I call it
Taliban Scientology.
I want to continue to on the story of Vicki Aznaran because she is an example of someone who reached the top of the structure, and was treated with unspeakable abuse way back in 1987 and no one spoke up and 25 years later the sadism and atrocities have only escalated. A lot of Sea Org members witnessed what happened to Vicki at the hand of David Miscavige in 1987, but no one did a damn thing and everyone went home happy, business as usual. And look what we have 25 years later. A grotesque deviation from anything that can be called a "church". Calling themselves "The Church of Scientology" they enjoy more internal sadism than any entity that comes to mind. Colleges and so on have hazing rituals which last an evening. Atrocities in this "church" last months, years.
They also get a free pass to stockpile money while paying no taxes under the pretense of "Religious exemption."

From Andre Tabayoyon's affidavit:
72. In 1987, I observed Miscavige order Vicki Aznaran incarcerated at a place called Happy Valley. Happy Valley is a ranch 11 miles away from the Gold base near Hemet. It was then one of the Rehabilitation Project Force ("RPF") Scientology correction and detention facilities. Vicki had been the senior executive in RTC. Miscavige won a power struggle and took her off that post. He ordered her into the RPF which was part of Gold, a unit in CSI.
73. I was at the Happy Valley complex when Vicki was driven up. She arrived in one car. Miscavige arrived in another car right behind her. After Vicki and Miscavige had left the respective cars in which they arrived, I heard Miscavige scream at Vicki, "You're going to do the f --- ing RPF." I did not see or hear Vicki make any response. I saw her go into the berthing facility.
74. A short time later, I spoke to Miscavige during his inspection of the stairs and patio of a building which was under construction at the base. He was wearing a new captain's uniform, a rank to which he appointed himself. I complimented Miscavige on his new uniform. Miscavige told me that Vicki, Jessie Prince and Spike Bush had been consigned to RPF. He said, "I'm almost positive they won't make it through the RPF. They're criminals."
75. Vicki spent 120 days on the RPF. As Director of Renovations and Construction Gold, a CSI department at the Gold base, I was in charge of supervising the work performed by the RPF at the time. Miscavige instructed us to keep a close watch kept on Vicki because he feared she would try to escape.
76. For 12 hours every day, for the duration of her stay, except for the few occasions when she was too ill to move, I saw her run around a pole ("the running program"). This is one of the most severe forms of RPF. It is reserved for persons deemed to be in a very low ethics status. It is often regarded as a program to contain persons regarded as crazy by the Scientology hierarchy. In addition to the running program Vicki was also working on other projects for an additional 5 hours a day.

Excerpt of Former sworn statement of Vicki Aznaran :::
8. I was forced to assign myself to the RPF. I was told that if I did not write an issue assigning myself that David Miscavige would write it and it would be far far worse than anything I could ever imagine. In other words he would write anything he wished to and make it broadly known. One example of this is a case where a girl refused to conform as ordered to and the Scientologists wrote an issue stating that the girl was a lesbian and published it to all of her friends. She escaped them and sued for libel and slander. It turned out that it was completely false and the Scientologists paid her to drop her suit and be quiet. This was in the San Francisco area in 1982. I was informed of this by the
cult member in the Office of Special Affairs who handled the lawsuit.
9. I did not decide on March 31, 1987 that I should leave the RPF. I had attempted to escape two weeks before that but had been caught by guards. I had expressed my desire to get away to several people on different occasions.
10. During the time I was in a motel in Hemet California, after leaving the RPF and up until any releases were signed, my husband and I were being security checked daily (an intense and lengthy form of interrogation) and we were being watched by guards. We had hardly any money, less than fifty dollars and we were extremely afraid of being declared fair game if we did not co-operate. I was in a very bad physical and mental state and would have signed anything in order to get away. The only thing I was grateful for was getting away.
I declare under the penalties of perjury under the laws of the United States of America that the foregoing is true and correct.
Executed this 15th day of January, 1989, at Dallas, Texas.
