Before Anon came along I spent a lot of time discussing Scn with FZers on ESMB. Largely it was unsatisfactory and circular in nature with occassional abuse from FZers who would descend into Hubbard-style equating such as Hubbard-criticism = Hubbard-hate, disagreement with the "tech" = bitterness.
Basically they displayed, in my opinion, the Hubbard-implant of simplistic thinking and labelling.
I saw Lionheart was mentioned at the start of the thread. I believe he became "enturbulated" (Joke!

) But a spirit doesn't die and re-birth is a natural phenomenon.
With the arrival of anon and the activism/protest movement, I realised that the FZers were not the correct target and arguing with them was as futile as arguing with CofS scientologists. By their own descriptions the FZers ARE scientologists, they are not
ex-scientologists. So I've never entirely understood why they are posting on an Ex-scn board. There is a fundamental untruth in there.
However censorship can't be the answer, it is playing Hubbard's game to do that and part of the Hubbard de-programming, in my opinion, is to allow, tolerate, accept, let be. These are largely alien, non-scn concepts because scn is all about control, change, manipulation, force. This was Hubbard's psychosis which he laced through the subject, so we cannot be surprised when Scientologists of whatever hue display these characteristics.
When I left Scn decades ago, one of the first shocks to me was to discover that non-scns were often nicer, less judgemental people than scientologists, despite scientology's lip-service to the ideas of non-evaluation. I also noticed how foul-mouthed scientologists were, in general, compared to huge swathes of Hubbard's "Wog" population. I noticed how compulsive was their urge to change and "handle" things, compared to many non-scns' attitude.
This is the Hubbard implant at work. So we should not be surprised when we find Scientologists on here evaluate, indicate, and point out how Hubbard's psycho-babble techniques can "handle" that, etc. They are just scientologists and that is what scientologists do!
So, thanks to anon and the pickets, I focussed on the target, which is the cult, the source of the implant, and the originator of the mind-warp (LRH). In my opinion this is the correct target.
At demos, I have attempted to engage scios in conversation and had a little success, but trying to bust through their brainwashed facade is largely as pointless as trying to do the same with the FZers.
So the most effective things at demos are the simple statements "We have cake, they have lies" or the Kentucky chant "That's the chicken, that's the cult!"
Similarly on ESMB, I believe the best tactic when a FZer trots out the Hubbard babble is simply to say "that's Hubbard babble".
Let the FZers mouth their hypnotised rubbish, their twisting of "facts" into Orwellian "double-think" or "cognative dissonance" and simply identify it in reply as Hubbard cult thinking.
Protect the newbies from the FZer PR which is some sort of grotesque double-think. Such as Hubbard was a lier, Hubbard was a genius, Hubbard was flawed, but his tech isn't and all the other contradictory justifications for the cult "tech" that they are still following, while simultaneously squirrelling it - it is what Scns do, they practice double-think. It is what Hubbard hypnotised us all into doing when we were in his cult. Remember, "1984" was published the year before DMSMH and to me it seems it was probably LRH's blueprint for Scientology.
We have to remember what it was like for us when we came out, the confusion, the loss, the terror. We are obliged, in my opinion, because of our previous active participation in the Hubbard-group mind-warping, to be gentle with our newly-out victims. We have a responsibilty to them.
When they are newly out and lurking on the boards, we have to help them by pointing out FZer hubbard-babble when the FZers do their babble. I believe this is where some individuals on ESMB provide the best of service. If newly-outs take some comfort in resting for a while in the FZ Squirrelling, then so be it. I believe by simply pointing out that it is still cult-babble, most will de-progamme naturally.
This is what ESMB is best at. Helping confused exes de-programme themselves.
I do know people who are repelled from ESMB because of the amount of Hubbard cult babble still promoted on it. This is a huge shame and
a great dis-service to them in their hour of need. It is to our shame that we fail them. It is to our credit when we manage to help them.
I know long-time ESMBers who are also repelled by the quantitiy of hubbard-babble on ESMB and how it sometimes makes, even experienced people feel like quitting ESMB. I've decided this is not the solution. The solution is to post "watch out, there's a cult about" warnings when we see the Hubbardist cult creeping onto ESMB.
ESMB will never be perfect, but I do think it is pretty wonderful in this imperfect world.
