I've read tookmeawhile's post regarding a IAS refund, and I'm gearing up to write my demand and if anyone has any relevant tips/info for me, I appreciate it.

I'm not going to leave the cult one dime of my money to oppress or distort or mislead anyone again! Thanks for your help. In return I will help someone else I know who has $40,000 with the IAS.

Good for you Riptide. I'm sure Tookmeawhile will be glad his hat write up is useful to you. My advice is to just let them know that they would be better off paying you than ignoring your request.

Let us know how it turns out.

No tips I'm afraid, but good for you.

It's got to be one of the best things that former members can do: it helps there families financially, and strikes a real blow to the "church." I've heard a few senior exes state that if every person with funds on account were to request them, the CofS would be screwed. It just doesn't have most of the money anymore.

Good luck!

If you ever think that it will give you added leverage against them, we can publicize their possible upcoming lack of cooperation on OCMB. Lemme know if there is anything I can do to help.

Tory Bezazian posted some years back that she got an IAS refund. I believe I've seen a couple other people express success with that. I think you could really go for it and get your money and help your friends with theirs, too- successfully. Good luck!

I would think that anyone 'declared' by the 'Church', i.e. not 'left voluntarily' would have a very good position to recover IAS fees or dues, especially the common 'Lifetime Membership'.

Good one riptide. I believe Feral has very good advice on this very action. I believe he has had success in this form of refund. Go for it!
