My grandmother, Lenore and her seven children. Five of her children, including herself became Scientologists.
From left to right, back row: Mike, Susan, & Andrew. Front row: Lucy, Lenore, Kathy, Bill & Mary Ann.
Mike and Mary Ann never got in.
Andrew, Lucy and Bill are out.
Susan is still in the Sea Org at PAC. Kathy is still deep in Scientology and headed deeper still, having just disconnected from her only child so that she can now go up the bridge.

Lucy and Kathy (seen in matching outfits) only a year apart, were always incredibly close. Kathy disconnected from my mother, Lucy when Lucy got declared in 2009.
Just another family ripped apart by Scientology. When will it end?

Dear Mareka,

I was deeply moved listening to your story today. Thank you for sharing your thoughts, experiences and family hurts. This will help others. :heartflower:

Lenore Hale - My grandmother - She should not have died in the circumstances she did. She should have died, naturally, surrounded by her loving family. She should not have ended her life while under emotional agony, alone and disconnected from her Scientology family. I wish I could have saved her from her pain. I blame Scientology for her death. They killed her with disconnection.

This is the worst of Scientology. They marginalize the sanctity of love, family, life and death.

THIS ^^^^ is why we protest.

Hi Mareka,

:welcome2: to ESMB. :grouphug:

I am so sorry to hear of the heartbreak and troubles your grandmother went through with Scientology. Thank you for sharing your story and hers with us. It is a beautiful way to honour her memory and shows your compassion, love and respect for her.

Telling your story publicly helps prevent future tragedies. You are a courageous woman and I am sure your grandmother loved you well and would be proud of you. I'm sure she always was, too.

Please hear this video. RAW. Reality. Actuality.
Mareka's grandma after a lifetime in Scientology kills herself.
She has been disconnected by all her children.
She had asked for a refund.
She was very financially stressed.
She disagreed with some church policy.
The Church brought on their full vengeance and wrath.
Lawyers got involved.
Mareka's grandma was given $1
Literally one dollar.
The Church manipulated all her children against her.
This is a story of a grandma who was in the *cherch* for decades.
A True Success story of the *End phenomena* of involvement
with the "Church" of Scientology.
Death Cult.

Yes . . . one must realize that that it is perhaps the cult's most important accomplishment to weaken "the SP's" by causing them to fight or otherwise cut their power connection with each other.

One of the things that happened in the days before the internet was that, we who became ex-culties were basically all out and individualized . . . there was no easy way for us to coordinate and co-empower our action as we see today with our ability to relate and share info and get truth out into the community.

We should realize that it is the cult's tech to cause disconnection that is applied even with its own members that is intended to WEAKEN the lines that the cult thinks will affect it.

Thus we should really be smart enough to see who is doing what in that direction and recognize what the outcome of these actions are.

I have often written that certain peeps, by their actions, actually are serving the purpose of OSA and the cult . . . whether they do so knowingly or unknowing and unintentionally or not . . . what we have to look at is the OUTCOME and in whose interests is that outcome.

This is a very important point raised by you, Jeffrey and Marc, #1!

Actually - not to belittle Jeffery's fine work, I would like to inundate you with requests for more videos. Maybe the firm of Puckem and Howe will be hired to protect the misunderstood gun nut PI's protecting Miscavage Sr. from disgruntled SP's, known to be lurking in the fine state of Wisconsin.

The main thing I got from this talk, which is very good  :hattip:to Marc and Jeffrey

The weakness of Scio is it's inability to laugh at or with itself and the complete
lack of understanding why anyone would do anything as purposeless as just having
fun for fun's sake.

It's makes their Hubbardian heads explode  to even begin to think
this may NOT be a deadly serious game as Hoobard suggested implied enforced
and restated so many times.

I said it years ago on A.C.T alt.clearing and its even truer today than ever.

Elronius of Marcabia hits a home run!

Anyone directing humor towards anything Scientology is considered a "Joker and Degrader". Under the Tone Scale it is 1.1 Covert Hostility and is a personality manifestation of someone who is PTS (Potential Trouble Source) or the SP (Suppressive Person) to whom the PTS person is connected.

Other Scientologists and staff will write a report to Ethics if someone makes such a joke.

Simply joking about Scientology, LRH, DM, another staff member, or a policy inconsistency can be enough to get a person routed to Ethics and anything can happen once that process is initiated. A Sec Check, a dirty e-meter read, a critical thought exposed, a Conditions Formula write-up, hours of amends, ordered to report to Qualifications to read some HCOPL or HCOB, assignment to the RPF, Fitness Boarded and/or ultimately Declared a Suppressive Person and Disconnection.

This is very ironic since LRH starts out his Mission Earth, Decalogy with an explanation about how satire was a respectable established writing style to indirectly portray the nuances of a complicated subject. Something I wholeheartedly agree with.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mission_Earth_(novel)

What is surprising however, is the depth of vulgarity that LRH reached in the Mission Earth series. To a casual reader it must beg the question: Am I reading a satire to reveal the greater problems of humanity or a window into a dark corner of LRH's mind?

Anyone who has spent enough time listening to LRH's taped lectures may be well aware of his sardonic nature. This has a place in the list of little things that lead up to that epiphany when one realizes this is no longer their reality they are living. LRH can make a joke but don't make a joke about LRH.

Humm. Was that the part Vaughn Young wrote when he edited it and got it ready for publication? I know the robot brain was his idea. Personally, I think LRH was way out of touch with the current SF genre - he was trying to mold his pulp fiction meme into what he thought the buttons of society was. Of course he did it with little taste or subtlety.

Do you remember the old effect scale? the part I redlined - must have total effect on others, no effect on self - was pretty close to the bottom - what does that say about Ol' Ron?

That was my personal impression also - that the decalogy was "off" genre wise. There is a popular central Sci Fi theme to the effect that all those extraterrestrial societies are avoiding us not because they don't want to contaminate our natural cultural evolution but rather because they don't want intergalactic drug dealers and mercenaries getting involved. LRH seems to have over emphasized the debauched angle to try and make his point about human society's degradation (and need for Scientology?) but does it say more about humanity or the inner workings of LRH?

I do remember the Effect Scale and you actually underscore the extent to which Scientology can be used as a system of thought to analyze the inherent faults and contradictions of Scientology itself. I like to say the truth is still the truth no matter who says it but if that is true then the reverse must also be true and therefore a lie is a lie no matter who says it.

In Scientology it is technically impossible for LRH to lie or be wrong because he is "Source" and for anyone to assert that he is fallible means they are not a Scientologist, or at least not a Scientologist without an ethics problem, misunderstood word, etc.

Scientology Inc and the atempted take down of my YouTube channel.

The cult of Scientology huffs and puffs with the threat letters because it is policy to do so. They are more toothless and impotent than they have ever been. Coming soon, the incredulous story of Tax exempt dollars used to attempt to destroy me in some Real Estate litigation and just how far they went to covertly meddle in on going litigation.

Did Vaughn write that Introduction? It has been a long time since I read it and I no longer have the set but I distinctly recall the expectation that I was going to read some exquisitely clever work. Boy was I disappointed! Francois Villon he was not!

As I understand it (though I could be wrong), Francois was imprisoned in the oubliette in Meung-sur-Loire where their house specialty was the water torture: 9 - 18 pints poured down your throat with a funnel. He wrote a poem to Louis the XI which was sardonic but so cleverly written the King took it as a complement and ordered his release.

This story went viral. Using tax exempt dollars at the cost of $10,000 a week to hire 2 PIS to spy on his own father. These PIs were caught with a staggering amount of weapons and a silencer ! "Let him die" said David Miscavige when a suspected heart attack was reported
