My story

The riots in LA reminded me of the time I was on my way to Flag which was on the Apollo and arrived in the middle of Communist takeover attempt, consequently I had to stay in a hotel.

At around 4:00 a.m. on April 25, 1974, I heard gunfire, I looked out of my hotel window just as a burst of gunfire stiched the face of the bank building that was across the road.

Some of the shrapnel from the gunfire hit my window - luckily it only cracked the window.

I could see the streets were crawling with machine gun-toting militia men, large trucks driving around, packed with soldiers who would occasionally shoot into the air.

Wow. Cool.

I love Lisbon. I got to see it in 96 and again in 2000. My husband of the time was from (and still is from) Portugal. What a wonderful country.

Too bad about the government. When I was there, it seemed alright. Touristy and all. But I was only visiting for a week or less both times and we enjoyed it alot. Wonderful weather. In the summer.

We went to Coimbra, Entroncamento, Lisbon and Fatima. And everywhere in between.

I came back to post 3 days earlier than my husband and he spent three days on the beach. When he came home, I thought he was an intruder, he was so tan that he looked like a black person! That was funny.

Alan, you gonna ever tell your story? Or is it somewhere? I bet its fascinating.

25!!!!!

How many were about DM. and 'critical thoughts about mamagement'?

.

You know what?!?! You bring up an interesting point here. It's something that never crossed my mind until this... On the RPF I mentioned a final assessment. Basically, it is a list of questions that get asked to the person (interview, not session), and the needle must be clean and flowing with no ticks or dirty needles. Wow. The questions: (some of them, forgive my old and fading memory)

Do you have any intention to stop Scientology Dissemination?
Have you spread any Black PR about LRH?
Have you spread any Black PR about Int management?

There were about 20 questions. I remember at least 6 were about Int Management, and any plans to stop them. Also Overts on LRH, Overts on Scn Dissmenation, any evil purposes being missed, and so forth.

Funny thing about the Black PR questions: It was really getting down to the nitty gritty critical thoughts and running anything. If you had any thought that what they were doing was wrong, it would be audited out on YOU, not that there was any room for correction on them.

Man, the more I think about it, the more I can see how incredibly organized this religion is. It's perfectly set up to not cave in on itself, unless there was a total takeover. Too many people are way too duped about it. It's even set up where they can't secretly talk about it either (remind anyone of Communism?)

What a scary thing it is!! (I'm not afraid, I'm just saying....)

Check this out.

This quote has been edited OUT of the PDC's:

LRH original PDC tape 20:

"Therefore, we really do have the remedy before the assault weapon is produced. Did you ever read poor old George Orwell's 1984? Yes,yes, that's wonderful. That would be--- could be the palest imagined shadow of what a world would be like under the rule of the secret use of Scientology with no remedy in existence."

L. Ron Hubbard Library altered version of PDC tape 20:

"Therefore, we really do have the remedy before the assault weapon is produced."

So forgive me if I have the rather extreme viewpoint that Scn mgmt has been taken over by Marcabian Agent Provacateurs....

Random comment

That's wild, Div 6. I always wondered about the changing materials and how they can justify that it is source. Plus what about the issues written after Jan 86? How do they explain that? They say they are compiled from tech that was "lost". Well, then, if they are losing the tech they love so much, what does that say about the people at the top?

--------- seperately:

I remember when I was at Flag and my metering video passed (Which was a big deal cause I was trying to pass on another base for almost a year), I was giving a star rate checkout to Matt Feschback on a Student Hat tape. I got so excited about passing my video, and couldnt see the page to continue the star rate. He gave me a congratulations (!!), then wanted to continue. I still couldn't. He said "Ok, let's have a moment of silence in celebration!". That made me laugh. That was the only time I ever met or talked to him.

--------

I may add more comments later, but for the most part, my story is complete, except how I am doing now. (which is great, by the way). I am enjoying life for the first time ever.:eyeroll: :) :D

That's excellent, whatever. I love your stories.

It's big world out here. And it just keeps getting bigger and bigger. :)

Awesome story, whatever! I started it a few days ago and finished it up just now. (Have a lot going on at the moment.)

I have been out since about '84 and didn't know that about John Mustard. I agree -- he was a great guy. I worked closely with him when I was in LA on work/study. We were the proofreaders on the Mission Earth series. Vaughn Young, whom I also gained a lot of respect for, was the editor. I only learned of his passing last year as I have been out of touch for awhile.

Thanks for sharing and I'm glad to hear that you are doing well now. :)

Alan,

That must have been just prior to Apollo crossing the Pond and eventually winding up in the Caribbean, around Nassau, the Bahamas. I got there in October I believe.

Hi,

Kind of a late response to your post of April 3:

. . .

When I was really young, in the CEO, there were a few things that happened that I remembered:

Able Schwartz was another kid around that time who was very out of control. I remember one time he poured gas all around the bed of Sammy Garcia and then lit it on fire, with her in it. We were all standing around watching the flames, trying to see if she was going to wake up. All the sudden we saw a fire man coming up the stairs! We were so excited to see a fireman (this poor girl could have been killed!) and then we found out it was Terry Hammy (our nanny) and we were all like "AWWW, MAN!!! Its only Terry". Poor guy. He was alirght.

And another time Able found a beebee gun or something and went to the roof of the big blue and started shooting the pigeons up there (I think by then, he was posted as an exterminator, because the post fit him well, I guess).

Another time, when he was still a kid, he put a firecracker up the rear of a cat and killed it. That made me cry. I wondered why this kid was allowed to do all that.

. . .

--------------------

One time my brother and I decided to get pigeon eggs from the roof of the fountain building. (Well, its not really the roof - it is under the roof, but above the ceilings in the apartments). So we went down to check it out and he ended up falling through the roof into the room of our friends the Wrights (or Walzers): Chin Dao, Mettayya, Sayadina, Dharma and the later on Lahai (I dont know how to spell). They were all eating dinner at home (which, come to think of it, we never did) and we landed right there!

Well, Mettayya was my age and we were friends. I kept in touch with her until the late 80's. She was working as a receptionist at a mission in Florida, but then she got married to someone and totally switched religions and was long gone out of Scn.

---------------------

It's interesting to me to remember some of these names of people from way back when. There are more that I grew up with, in different time periods, but come to mind here, if anyone knows them: Cassavius Tabayoyan, Kim Fries, Sandy Fries, David and Andrew Harris, Bill and Suzanne Feeley, Jennifer and Justine Lipton, Suzanne Reynolds (Wendels step kid I think), Mettayya and that whole gang of sisters. Brings back feelings of the better times.

As a child care worker for the Cadet Estates Org in the late 1970s I remember maybe half of the children you referred to living at the Fountain apartment building:

Mettaya Wright, Casavius, Jennifer and Justine Lipton, Seth Price, Sami Garcia.

Chin-Dao and Abel were older than the day care group I knew and were under a CEO governor.

I recall that Abel Schwartz had built himself a reputation as a troublemaker. He had no remorse about hurting others. There was an effort to get Abel and a few others in the governor group declared as SPs so they could be removed. I believe Susan Calhoun (day care center I/C and later CO) and Rick Ernisee (governor) were involved in that cycle.

If a movie or documentary is eventually produced that includes coverage of Sea Org child care, you may want to consider being available as a consultant.

That's crazy. I think I was one of the lucky ones who actually had parents until I was 15 or 16. I can't imagine not having parents, or anyone so young.

I guess it didn't happen, because Abel himself was posted in PBC (the PAC Estates Org) in the early 90s.

Nope, none of them got declared from back then. I remember we really wanted to SP declare Nicky Schulman. Man that kid was evil and nuts. They wouldnt let us. I think it was cause his parents were OSA (at least his dad) and so they would have to leave with him.

The only time I heard of a child getting declared (in my time in SO) was Sally Cason's son. That was in the mid 90's. She had to leave the Sea Org with him because he was a minor. I dont know why he got declared (probably stepped on Davies toes or something). He was about 12 or 13 at the time.

I am new here but I do recall that Able And one other child, Chris G. did get sent to the RPF and one of them did get declared following an incident where one of them chased the other with a hammer.
