My story

"I recall that Abel Schwartz had built himself a reputation as a troublemaker. He had no remorse about hurting others. There was an effort to get Abel and a few others in the governor group declared as SPs so they could be removed. I believe Susan Calhoun (day care center I/C and later CO) and Rick Ernisee (governor) were involved in that cycle"

I am new here but I do recall that Able And one other child, Chris G. did get sent to the RPF and one of them did get declared following an incident where one of them chased the other with a hammer.

Do you know how old they were at the time?

(by the way, welcome aboard)

THe last time I saw Able was when he was posted at PAC as the "exterminator" (No joke, that was actually his title, which we all laughed about cause he would have done that, post title or not!) around the 90's sometime. He was for sure an adult (over 21) before he disappeared from my radar.

His mother, Nancy Phelps, still works at the HGB to this day (at least until I left she did).

---------

Another story about another kid, I did not see it, but heard about it and saw the results of it:

There was a kid of about 13 or 15 in the Cadet Org, which was at the ranch (off base place where kids were) who wanted to join the Sea Org. He was going to join the Manor Hotel. This was approximately 95 or 96. The kids father was Bob Brown, I believe.

The recruiter either went to get the kid and his stuff, or he went with the kid to get his stuff from the ranch. The route up to the ranch was slick and snowy and not safe. They did not have the right winterized car for what they were doing. The kid was in the passenger seat and the car skidded out of control and hit a pole or a tree. Both were hospitalized and the kid was in serious condition for a while. I think he was in a coma for a bit there. I saw the car afterwards - it was hit so hard that the passenger door had gone all the way through the car and was touching the driver side door. The car was totalled. So the kid finally recovers, and he is not the same. He is permanently in a wheelchair and his brain function is basically none. It is a sad, sad thing. I wonder if the church is even paying for his medical or they are forcing his Sea Org father to come up with it?

I'll bet somehow the dad has ended up in lower conditions or justice somehow from it. You know, not being on post enough, or stats going down cause he had to care for his son. Who knows. I could just imagine that it would occur.

They were 6 or 7 maybe even 8, but i do recall a golden rod on it while they were both on the childrens RPF. I do recall years later Able being posted as the exterminator and going up to the roof of the main building to kill pigeons, guess he found his calling.

That's right. That was his post in PBC.

 Oh, jelly beans! Sorry, folks, the 100th monkey theory seems to be an urban legend, although morphogenetic fields being what they are I could see how it could be possible that there exists a field that contains a higher consciousness that controls a group. Look at Christianity and all the visions of Christ and Virgin Mary (really a man in drag?). Boy do those controlling entities have people building churches for them! Just think what they could do with ants or monkeys!

Someday I'm going to start a thread about morphogenetic fields so I can get off this subject once and for all.

More reflections

I just got to thinking more about the early days.

I remember the road trip to LA to join the Sea Org. Besides that, my mom told me other things about it. At the time, my dad was getting declared and we packed up to join the SO. She told me she changed her mind when she got to LA and took us to Disneyland instead. I think the next day she joined the Sea Org. I was 2 1/2 and my brother was a year or so older than me.

I remember the Melrose building, but only vaguely. I remember playing in the yard outside alot. After that, we were moved to the Fountain Building (later resold because the earthquakes damage) and all of the kids were there. Then they aquired the ATA, which was down the street from the fountain building, which is now used more for storage and event preps than anything else. Then we were all moved to the CEO, which is a building that doesnt exist anymore. It was where they put the Atrium at CCI (Paviliion, whatever you wanna call it).

---------

I think that the nannies that we had, though there were not enough, actually cared about the kids. But at the same time, it seemed like they were put there cause they didnt qual for anything else. It just seemed to me there was a hint of rejection in them. Maybe it was frustration. We were not the easiest kids to take care of.

It's harsh for me to say this, but I felt they cared more than the parents, in most cases that I saw. Some parents really did care about their kids and would come and see them. And I used to be jealous of that. My mom never seemed to be part of our lives, in my mind. When she did manage to get time with us, she would sleep and not be with us at all.

I do remember she had an old datsun manual car and we used to go places sometimes. But I dont remember much. Maybe just shopping. I think that was in my later years anyways.

---

In the earlier years, in the CEO, they did have the kids seperated by age groups. I do remember they had an area for newborns.

----

At one point, early on, they did decide to do something about having so many kids, and the rules they put in was that you had to have a PO approved before you could get pregnant. They wanted to finances covered before you had any kids. This was way early on - sometime in the early 80's or so. I remember Donna Proffit got approval and she was going to have another kid. That was before they decided if you get pregnant you go to Class V Org, before if you get pregnant, you get Comm Ev'ed (which is the current thing) and offloaded and spouse is convinced to stay in SO and female is left in the world with 500.00 and thats it.

----

I think I learned independance early on. I think that was a good thing. Since being out, I have done well by myself and do not need to depend on anyone. I like to be able to say I accomplished that. I think anyone who makes it out can, as long as they are given a little "push start" in the right direction. (knock on wood)

Yeah fond memories like life at the fountain building during the hep outbreak.fun!fun!fun! Well at least you made it through all that insanity and if you can make it there you will make it anywhere!:dancer:

So what is the current handling for pregnancies in the SO?

>So what is the current handling for pregnancies in the SO?

I heard of a couple at PAC who recently routed out because she was pregnant. They let them go, gave them a few hundred for "severance". No jobs or place to live, but they're out. Better than being pressured into having an abortion they didn't want like they were earlier, I suppose. But then I don't know how much of that was due to lack of pressure and how much to them just deciding to stand up to it this time.

Dear Bea Kiddo,

I hope one day you can look at it all from the viewpoint that you were lucky.

From what you have said about your mother, I wonder what the other side of the coin would have been if she hadn't found out about Scientology.

If she left your father because of Church business, surrendered you because of church business................

Do you ever get the idea you lucked out?

Because I went to meet my mother when I was eleven and it became obvious to me in a right away style I had been very fortunate to grow up some distance from her.

I was the lucky one.

My brother was the lucky one.

My sister was the lucky one.

All the children she deposited on other people's door steps were the lucky ones.

If she hadn't given us up she would have killed us.

On my drug rundown I had to run out the fact that she kept me drugged on paragoric for two years.

There are people that are quite insane left up to their own devices.

The world can be testy but once you establish your right to rule it will service you.

And the world is a busy place with a lot of divine intervention.

The world took care of you.

The world can be a very good mother.

For some of us, the world is our mother.

And like no other, the possibilities are limitless.

From what I know, there has never been anyone FORCED to have an abortion. However, if you choose to keep the pregnancy and child, you will be Comm Ev'ed and kicked out of the Sea Org and treated like a "degraded being". Your spouse (the male) will be pressured to stay in the Sea Org. The female will be sent out with $500.00 and that is it. They may or may not help set you up with a place to stay and possibly a job in a Scientology business.

I suppose that 'forced' might often be the issue.

Most mugging victims are'nt actually 'forced' to give up their wallets or purses.

If they don't, they might be stabbed or shot, but... that's not *forced*.

Oh yeah, sorry about that screw up. I meant it for Bea and anyone else who is my sister orphan.

We have a sisterhood!

The orphan sisterhood!

Who else is part of the orphan sisterhood?

We should all get together sometime!

I bet we would have a blast!

I love the idea of being an orphan. Maybe then I wouldn't have to pretend I have a mother. I think that makes me feel better than pretending that my mother was actually a mother. Thinking of my life as if I were an orphan, that makes more sense to me! Because that is essentially what occured.

I did remember that I did get dental work when I needed it though. My mom used to take me to the dentist to get cavities filled. I had many root canals as a child and many cavities. She had the time to take me to the dentist, but never to make sure I knew how to brush my teeth? Weird.

Been getting some more dental work done recently and it reminded me of it. All my teeth have been cared for by the dentists, they have never been left a long time without being fixed, but still, if I had been brushing daily and not eating tons of candy and sodas - they would likely be in better shape right now.

Hereditarily though, I do have a nice set of teeth. Thanks mom!;)

Mom, I still love you. Please wake up.
